Animal Kind Veterinary Hospital Brooklyn, New York

I’ve used Animal Kind Veterinary Hospital in the past for my dog and hamster and they were great. Bringing home our new puppy recently, I knew I wanted to bring her to Animal Kind. Although it was difficult not being able to be with her during her exam due to current times, I was confident that she was being well cared for. The doctor called me during her visit to ask if I had any questions/concerns and to explain what was happening during her visit. When Lucy came out she was happy so I know she was in good hands. I was later able to email the doctor with additional questions, and received a prompt response to all my questions. I would recommend Animal Kind to anyone with a new pet.

I've been going to this vet for 8+ years. I really have to commend how they've handled the pandemic. They remain compassionate veterinarians and hospital staff. You hope that you only ever to bring in your animals for their annual visits and they'll always be healthy, but I've unfortunately had to have a few emergency visits to them over the last two years. They have always been fairly responsive (though I do have the occasional issue of being on hold for a very long time or being hung up on by accident) but I've always been pleased with their service.

Took excellent care of my 9-year old cat who needed surgery. Very compassionate and professional staff.

I’ve being taking my pets to Animai Kind for 14y and I’ve never ever had any sort of problems with them. The doctors, techs, whole staff are always kind and attentive.

I really appreciate animal kind. I've seen several vets there. They are wonderful with animals and people. Very thorough without proposing unnecessary procedures. Diagnosticly spot on. Prices are reasonable. I wouldn't go anywhere else. Highly recommend them.

Just saw Dr. Frydenborg, she is terrific. She is so good with our frightened poodle, Luna. She is kind, lucid, and very understanding (of both people and pets). Dr. Frydrnborg left the practice. We now "see" Dr. Witherell. Though we've had several appointments, I haven't met her yet.. But I like her a lot, very responsive, very patient, very knowledgeable. The staff is also good, I have spoken to Daniel several times and he has been v helpful. Dr. Frydenborg has left We saw Dr Witherell. She is also great. Staff v helpful.

I have been going to Animal Kind Veterinary Hospital for at least 12 years or so with my 3 Sphynx Cats, Zephyra, Neffertiti and Ramses. I’ve always found the staff and doctors to be very attentive and compassionate to my pets as well as to my wife and I. Dr. Sara Witherell, nothing short of amazing!!! I would recommend Animal Kind Veterinary Hospital to anyone looking for a wonderful place to bring their pet!! Ed Laviano.

Staff that tended to me was very professional.

First time visit for both my pets. My pets were scared and anxious so needless to say both my pets threw up in there carriers. Truly a mess. Two technicians not only cleaned both animals but also cleaned both carriers. Needless to say the Doctor was so loving and caring. The entire staff was comforting and caring. Thank you ???????? for such a great visit.

They gave Mish a peaceful send off to rainbow bridge ????????????

I love Animal Kind, especially Dr. Witherell. She is so helpful and communicative and everyone there takes great care of my little dog.

Love how they treat Coco, she is a pit bull and most of the people are scare of her, but Coco is just a big baby Thank you very much, you guys are a great team really good experience. We will be back

I can not say enough about the quality of care my yorkie Lea receives from Animal Kind. I called and got an appointment the same day, I drove 70 miles from Southern NJ. I can’t find a vet in my area that can give the quality care that I trust and I know that my baby is receiving the best treatment. They give you a f/u call to check on your pet after a day. The staff is amazing from the front desk, to the assistant to the Vet (I forgot her name), I highly recommend!! Love this place! Thank you for taking care of my baby on short notice!

We found this vet on recommendation from a friend. We live in Manhattan yet we still take the trip to Park Slope to have our children cared for. Highly recommend to anyone and we don’t normally give those accolades. Love Animal Kind

Prime example of too many patients. Staff has lost compassion. Said they ran tests for tick born illnesses. Either they did not run it or did not give me the results because I got a second test at a different vet (5days later)and she was positive for Lyme. Also had to hound them for the results of a test on a tumor. Even though the results were cancerous, there was no urgency to let me know. They simply do not care. Your pet is just a number. And the pricing is high but that is a problem in Brooklyn as a whole. I took my pup to Jersey and not only did they take the time to talk to me but I paid 1200 for a procedure that animal kind quoted me 4K.

Very pricey. The one Vet that we grew comfortable with, Dr. Babaev is no longer there, might have to check.around for a Vet that's a little more affordable

We have used Animal Kind to care for several generations of our cats. The vets are professional, caring and have always taken the best good care of them. In particular, Dr. M. Werner treats the animals with sensitivity in order to minimize the fear that most animals experience when taken to the vet. I recommend Animal Kind without hesitation.

I’ve been bringing my dogs to Animal Kind for a very very long time now. Everyone is super sweet and helpful. Very kind and gentle with both my big and little guys. I appreciate how quickly they get back to you with test results and also send friendly reminders via email of when it’s time for our next visit. 100% recommend them. :)

This was our first visit to the vet with our cat. The doctor was kind and caring and made Felicia feel comfortable. The doctor answered all my questions in a professional manner and explained everything he did. Thanks for a very positive experience!

We had our cat visit Animal Kind last Saturday since he had lost weight and was eating much less; he was diagnosed with a hight fever so blood work was done. We asked that antibiotics be prescribed but the vet refused stating the cat needed an ultrasound and many other tests before they could do antibiotics. They felt we needed to wait for the blood work to come back before treating him. We took him to another vet where he was diagnosed with pneumonia and was immediately administered antibiotics which saved his life. There is a trend of inflating the bill by recommending nonessential procedures, tests and treatments. This has been our experience multiple times with Animal Kind. I was prompted to write this review today after a potential adopter of ours expressed to me this morning of facing similar issues with Animal Kind.

we have been going to this clinic for years, and have always had a good experience. We like that there are a number of skilled providers we can work with if getting in is a priority, but have also forged longer term relationships with individual practitioners when more dedicated care for a pet was necessary. We are on our 8th pet at this practice (they are not all alive at the moment, we have our limits!), and we've never once lived in the neighborhood--it's always been a commute for us!

The Dr was amazing and comforting to Chyna's needs. The staff was pleasant and kind. Great atmosphere and the location was very clean.

I recently brought my dog to Animal Kind for the first time. They were kind and helpful on the phone and had a decent amount of availability. I loved that I barely had to wait in the room and that the actual vet was helping me the whole time. They were really thorough and took their time to make sure that my dog was all set up with vaccines, preventatives, advice on behavioral issues etc. even though I was just coming in to get an ear infection checked out. Also, the staff was great about my dog who's quite leash reactive toward other dogs. They helped me get in and out of lobby/street with limited stress and barking. Looking forward to coming back for regular care!

I've been going here since moving to Brooklyn 15 years ago and having(accidentally) followed my previous vet's move to the practice. She, and the other vets here have tended my cats with love and professionalism. This past check-up visit, I believe Sailor was even pleased (mostly) to see old friends in Dr. Werner and Barbara the vet technician.

They are very nice and caring. Prices aren’t too bad either.

Animal Kind is a wonderful vet clinic. They were my primary vet for both of my current cats for several years -- and then another neighborhood clinic opened up literally across the street from my apartment in South Slope, so I transferred to the other practice. This past Monday, for whatever reason, my new, regular vet across the street from me was closed and my cat was having a health issue. Animal Kind fit me in when another patient cancelled, and they did a very caring job of taking care of my cat, who needed to stay overnight for fluids and observation. I can only say positive things about my several years of cumulative experiences with Animal Kind!

We love Animal Kind! Wouldn't take our cats anywhere else.
