Whilst Dr Crawford was very friendly and knowledgeable, I did not get the care I needed for my cat. I have never been to a vet where I was not in the exam room with my pet. For them to say they could not look at my cat because she 'was not able to be handled' is not good enough - I informed them of the fact that my cat is old, and very feisty when it comes to people she doesn't know, like a vet - ahead of time. I then reached out to them via email so I could get options (I was informed at the time of the visit, but I wanted it in writing as I'm not good with medical anything), and I felt they were quite dismissive, and were pawning me off onto alternative options, 'highly advise going in to Blue Pearl, VERG or The Animal Medical Center through e.r.' - My cat is dying, and there is no surgery that is really an option. I need to make her comfortable as this tumour gets worse every day. They just don't seem interested in helping, and it's really quite upsetting. I will be looking elsewhere.

Posted in a FB group for local dog owners and realize my experience is not singular. Just went to Alison for a second visit, last time as well. My dog has had some hair loss so I went to took in, I believe Alex was the one saw him. Honestly the vet assistant felt more helpful than him. He asked some questions, while talking to me was super out of it and told me it’s not a big deal and was gonna ask me to leave. I wasn’t super sure becaus my dog has lost a lot of hair. Then the nurse assistant walked by, he just casually asked what do you think this is? The nurse did little more exam and said it was definitely a dermatatis. It made me wonder did he actually exam my dog ? This entire experience was super frustrating, and felt not heard and over priced. Paid 120 for nothing, just to be told wait until it’s worse and no recommendations , honestly FB gave me more advices than this. He was just going to let us leave without actual exam or listening to me, brush off it saying it’s not big deal if the other nurse didn’t walk by and he asked again. I felt like I have to keep advocate for my dog and if it wasn’t the other nurse, i was just gonna let it go and assumed my dog was fine when he wasn’t? I’m not going back to there again so looking for recommendations. I know vets are expensive, I rather go somewhere that the vets actually seemed care and responsible.

Great experience taking my 7-year old rescue to Alison. + Easy booking online + Friendly doc + My dog likes it + Saved me a lot of $$ We went in for a second opinion on a medical issue that Bond Vet had flagged and wasn't able to diagnose at their urgent care facility in Cobble Hill. Dr. Klein sat down with me and explained everything going on in layman's terms, which I appreciated - and by doing a quick test in-house, Dr. Klein helped me avoid an expensive surgery consultation elsewhere. + My dog usually hates the vet and can't wait to leave, but here he got along well with the doc and the vet assistants. Will be switching over to Alison as our go-to vet.

I like this clinic because people working there really care about their 4 paw patients. I had an urgent case once and thanks to responsiveness and professionalism of the Alison Animal Hospital team my cat needed no additional antibiotics and got better soon. It is a good and very pleasant place to monitor the health of your pet.

Our latest experience at Alison Animal Hospital for an emergency dental surgery was as close to perfect as possible. The stress for my dog was close to non-existent because of the way her drop-off and pick-up were handled and the results of the procedure were better than hoped for.

I've been taking my new pup here for the last 6 months and the practice has been fantastic. Always responsive and they care about my pet very much and they take the time to explain to me my options and why they suggest certain treatments. Extremely pleased with the professional practice!

Alison Animal Hospital came highly recommended to me by several people and my own experience lived up to the hype. I was probably more anxious than my cat was about the appointment but she was completely fine during the check up and immediately back to her normal routine when we came home. What more can you ask for than a calming and uneventful vet visit?

Alison Animal Hospital has taken care of our dog for years and our kitten since she was rescued last year. The administrative staff have always been very efficient, kind, and helpful, and the vets are amazing. Everyone there loves animals, and it's apparent in their care!

This was the first time that I had taken my Frenchie to Alison Animal Hospital. Dr Ryan and all of the assistants did a wonderful job. She was very thorough in her examination of Coco and took plenty of time to explain everything to me. I feel confident that Coco will be in good hands at her new vet.

Have in person appointments again. Include all of the charges (included needed meds) included in estimates for surgery.

Staff was very helpful and friendly. Dr. Ryan who examined my cat was very nice and interested. She answered all my questions patiently. I felt that they really care about animals. We're planning to become their regular client. The reason why we decided to visit here was because of all the praising comments, and I can say that they really deserve all the good things people said about them.

Just brought my 15 yr old cat there because she's been doing some troubling/puzzling things. On arrival for appt was greeted so so kindly, like an old friend, and when Alex examined Leira, after closely and unhurriedly listening to the background stories I relayed, his face changed to unquestionable sadness, allowing me a lot of time to take that in. He made the clearest drawing of our options on a white board and we went home sad, but equipped. Days later, my sweet kitty seems more alert and I'm thinking of all the wonderful years we've had together! Everyone at Alison was positively wonderful!! Doing long time since sweet Leira. Now I've got young-uns (now 3+ yrs) to Tela and Ble. Alison Animal still there in the best of ways!

My partner and I recently adopted our first dog and we were recommended to Alison Animal Hospital. We are so glad we went! The staff was very responsive and kind before our visit with email reminders. When we went to drop off our dog they were extremely gentle and understanding as our dog is quite timid. After the check up Dr. Ryan came out to talk to us about the visit and really took the time to listen to us and answer our questions. She provided a lot of detail about some medicine we would need to give our dog. The facility was very spacious and clean. The whole staff was professional and kind. Overall we had an amazing experience and would recommend this facility to any pet owner.

Definitely want to encourage anyone thinking of going here for allergy issues to bypass and go straight to an allergist (Blue Pearl has a couple). Dr. Ryan seems really against steroids, which is fine, but then offers no alternative. She will gladly order a panel and charge you for it, but then won't prescribe steroids or immunotherapy. In fact, she just seems to disappear into the ether and then her "manager" will suggest you make an appt. with an allergist. As for getting a steroid prescription to tie over my pet until I can get an appt. with an allergist (which easily can take a month), I was told to go to an ER. That's right, go to an ER, put my cat in a car both ways, wait an hour, and pay $200 to walk in the door - all when Ryan could have prescribed as she had already seen my pet numerous times. Oh yes, as soon as you give them your email, they start spamming you for their "store" where they sell product. This is the priority, not giving your pet prescriptions.

Poor administration kept messing up my email. Doctor Ryan never followed up on my email questions afterwards, kept asking repeat questions then asked me to come in for a follow-up on a growth that she had no idea what it was the first growth. I don't plan on wasting my time going back for subpar follow-up.

Just a great vet. Very responsive, very sympathetic, and not too expensive. They've been dealing with the week-old kittens I found, and have been amazing.

Alison Animal Hospital is a great veterinary practice - very caring and progressive. Drs. Klein and Ryan and their staff always provide my pets with excellent treatment and attention. Highly recommended! Update Nov 2019: Once again, Alison Animal Hospital has provided excellent and comprehensive treatment for my older male cat. Because of Alison's care, he continues to thrive even with a few medical challenges. I'm so happy they are in the neighborhood! Update March 2021: Excellent service as always. I always feel like my pets are in good hands at Alison.

Dr. Alex Klein is very knowledgeable and caring. I’ve been taking my cat to him for years and I’m very happy with their service. I have to remind myself to be patient at this current time because COVID has changed policy for Vets, which makes us wait longer than usual for all our safety. Thanks Alison Hospital for taking care of the Park Slope community.

I wish I could write a better review because they did a great job with my mom's cat which is why I took my new kitten. Due to Covid the doctor calls after hours to debrief you (totally normal right now), and while the doctor was great, something seems to have been mixed up in my file. My kitten had an ear infection, was given meds, and I was told to come back in 10 days with a poop sample. Later I was told I have no appointment, that I don't need to come back, and that the poop sample could be done at another time. The only consistent follow-up I received was calls to collect payment -- I STILL have not been contacted by the doctor after being told twice she would get back to me. I went to another vet and they put my kitten on antibiotics -- he's still really sick. Really really sad and disappointed by the lack of care for my kitty.

Very impressed with the service provided! Very nice interior, polite and helpful staff. My cat is very afraid of strangers, but the doctor’s assistant was very helpful, professional, calming Rory, being nice and gentle with him. Dr. Alex Klein is an amazing doctor in my opinion. His passion, efforts and the way he treated Rory were truly impressive, professional. Very grateful to all the staff of Alison Animal Hospital and happy to be your customer (patient - Rory).

We love Dr. Ryan! She is smart, thoughtful, thorough and accommodating with our rescue pup who has a lot of anxiety about going to the vet. It's clear she has an extensive knowledge base and training and that she has a huge passion for animals and their medical care. Highly recommend!!
