Very caring shelter ! Amazing people caring for beautiful cats and kittens . We adopted our little baby girl and the adoption process was very thorough. They checked all our references, they really care about all their fury babies .

My precious cat, Jasmin, passed away on March 2. I knew I wanted to adopt 2 cats and MHAA was the only place I thought to go to. I am taking home Violet and Clementine, both of them rescued from a hoarder household. The people at MHAA are so devoted to caring for and finding homes for so many.

This is a wonderful organization and the staff are so sweet and friendly. All of the cats we met were beautiful and SO well-cared for, including those with special needs. Their free-roam room is kitty heaven! If you're ever looking for ways to make a difference, please consider volunteering or making a donation of any size to help them help more of our feline friends in need.

Staff is lovely and well-informed, the cats seem very well taken care of. Would recommend adopting from here!

Great people. Extraordinary care of the cats. Very appreciative of all they did for the cat I adopted. Careful screening of potential pet parents.

You think a "Rescue" would help an indoor cat dumped in the woods. Nope, they declined taking her. She stayed at my house overnight and we got her in a shelter, not this place. Horrible experience.

The best no kill cat shelter. I found my buddy Alex there, or should I say...he found me!

Consistently RUDE staff which ultimately effects cats. Staff didn't "ask" me to re-direct a behavior but was instead RUDE, sarcastic and snide. I am often treated with disrespect and in this manner. I am only a person trying to give animals comfort. There is no reason for unprofessionalism to a kind person giving kind acts. NO REASON. You have a bad reputation in the Hudson Valley and I will validate that now. If you can't show a human respect, what can I expect for the cats? My heart is with all of them, may they find their homes very soon.

We found our beloved cat (facility named him Micah), a beautiful black cat, he is our loveable big boy. We renamed him Sushi because he is a roll of love!!! The staff is wonderful and helped us through a speedy adoption process. Thanks to them we found our amazing fur baby. I couldn't live without him!! Thank you for everything, I hope your mission continues strong and you will stay open to save many more kitties to go to forever homes!!

Although we did not adopt from here, I love this place. The cats have room to run and play. The staff members know the quirks and health issues of each cat. They genuinely love and care for these cats. It's heartwarming to see. Keep up the fantastic work!

Mid Hudson Animal Aid is a no kill, free range cat sanctuary. The health and welfare of the cats is their #1 priority.

Used to be great .. now ... the people that run it are horrible !! After 15 years of donating money and volunteer time to this organization, when It came time to adopt a cat from them again, we were told our references werent good enough ! How much of a better reference do you want? Two 15 year volunteers of your organization aren't good enough, you've known them personally for 15 years plus.. I assume someone you never knew is a better reference? Your Insane, the best reference is people you know and trust, NOT people you don't !! The way you handled this adaption was heartless, and I urge anyone interested in adopting from MHAA or donating money to seriously think twice !! Until Managment is changed !!!

I have really enjoyed volunteering here on the weekends. Everyone is very friendly and helped me learn the morning routines. The work they do is heroic.

The staff are not interested in cats going to good homes that maybe opposed to vaccinations. I was told that we could not adopt because our current indoor cat was not vaccinated. I discussed this at length with our vet years ago because I had concerns about the possible short term and long term side effects of vaccinations. I had a cat once respond negatively to a series of shots. This is why we decided not to get her booster shots. Ulster county does not require cats to be vaccinated or chipped. In 18 years, my cats have never stepped outside. Their policy is not to release to homes like ours. I was told we had a bad vet referral because of our decision. When I questioned the "bad" referral, I slipped and said bad people because that is how I felt I was being portrayed. She then hung up on me. That was beyond rude. I have had cats my whole life and every cat was loved/cared for to their last days. I religiously treated a diabetic cat for two years to prolong her life with insulin. So the "bad" referral needs to be branded some other way. I am gobsmacked by the response on the phone.

You can not imagine the amount of pets that need a home. We rescued a cat from this location. They take very good care of the animals housed at this locarion. Spay, neutering and microchipping are all services they provide. For a small donation fee, you too can do your part to rescue and provide a loving home for a pet.

I adopted my beautiful, sweet kitten from here and I am so happy that I got the chance to begin such a wonderful relationship with help from the friendly staff here. When I went to meet her they were in the middle of cleaning the entrance and apologized, but I think their efforts are a testament to the quality of care they provide for the shelter cats. My cat was quarantined and with some others after a respiratory illness was brought in by some new kittens, but the way they operated made me feel safe in adopting an animal from them. I am so grateful they found Sambuca- who I now call Esmeralda - so that I could bring her home for a new life!

Heartless ...denied a 83 year old man a cat bc they said full circle vet of wappingers said cat didn't get shots ..which is wrong bc the cats plce in Fishkill cared for his cats ..fullcircle just killed it....he paid hundreds of dollars to full circle...and he was denied a cat bc they said full circle vet hosp gave him a bad reference ..which is so sad .he treated his cat better then himself ...and I personally told them that I would care for the cat if something would happen to him ...my cat lived to age 19 and i can prove it i think it was his age ..which I am 1/2 his age ....really. heartless ....
