Wow. Dr. Monaco and her staff are very helpful. There’s never a wait longer than ten minutes. You get an email response quickly if you have urgent questions!❤️❤️

Most reasonably priced Vet around. You can tell she really cares about your pets. Allows you to ask all the questions you want without making you feel rushed, very honest and handles pet gently. From now on this is my go to place for my fur babies

Dr. Monaco and her staff are TRULY AMAZING!! For many years now I've been taking my pets to her for care. I even travel when needed from Brooklyn where I initially started visiting at her prior location of work to where she currently practices her profession in Queens. Dr. Monaco has gained my loyalty and trust for many reasons. One being, with the one pet I have who suffers from a chronic condition, she always expresses genuine care, patience and compassion. She listens with attentiveness and after conducting evaluation on my pets condition, she carefully expresses in detail and honesty of her findings and suggests on her opinion of what may be for the pets best interest moving foward. I can't even imagine having to entrust the health of my pets in the hands of anyone else's care. I have and will continue to HIGHLY recommend Dr. Monaco to any pet owner I know in search of a GREAT Vet for their furry loved ones.

I just wanted to say , Thank you so much for saving my sweet boys toe !! I’m so happy you were able to take care of it compared to the last Vet ! I appreciate how quick and effective the vet was ! She was very straightforward and explained everything clearly. The ladies at the front desk were very kind and I will definitely be returning if my boy has any other vet needs.

The wort vet you could bring your pets to. Dr.Monaco is unreliable and often cannot give you a clear answer but will keep pressing you to conduct more and more expensive exams. These people seem money hungry and very uninformed. They are extremely unprofessional and offer to do specialty tests when they cannot even analyze the findings properly.

DO NOT GO THERE WITHOUT NEUTERING CERTIFICATE! I had a terrible experience here. I made an appointment with them 2 weeks in advance for my cats neutering and did not receive much information about what was required of me prior to the appointment. To my mistake, I did not bring the paper copy of the neutering certificate to the appointment, assuming the email would be enough. They not only did not collect everything they needed from me before taking my cat in, they did not even attempt to help or accommodate the situation- even after I told them I took the day off to be there. I even offered to pay in full if they could see me so I wouldn’t lose out on the day & bring back the certificate paper to them. Nope. All that, I can understand- they are not necessarily obligated to accommodate outside of their policies. However... they had the audacity to keep my cat in the back until they finished the “wellness check” for my cat. Which to be honest, is barely anything more than a “let me look at the cat and make sure he’s not visibly dying before I take him into surgery” and then charge me for that, even though they wouldn’t take him in for the surgery. He was back there no longer than 5 minutes and $55 later I walked out without even attempting to rebook an appointment. Terrible experience, thank god they didn’t operate on my cat. On the other hand, I went to animal clinic of Long Island City and they were so informative, asked me if I had the certificate to bring in, told me everything I needed to expect for that day, and told me to start my cat’s fast at 9PM the night before- something that was not mentioned to me by this place, I had googled it to be sure. Save yourself the headache- don’t go here. Try another vet.

The best veterinarian in Astoria! Considerate and caring doctor. Dr. Monaco handled my pets gently and with so much care unlike other vets around here who roughly grab the animal. The doctor is very knowledgeable and helpful as well as the rest of the staff members. They will help you the best they can when you are limited on funds and give you every possible option on how to help your pet in whatever situation you are in. Overall, its a great place and i highly recommend taking your pet here for anything.

Doctor Monaco is a good doctor, but the management is terrible. I have been this place several times, but even though made appointment, i had to wait at least 40min. What is the point of making appointment?

Dr. Tadros healed my dog's paw when all of the other vets said that there was no hope. He always does what is in the best interest of the animal as well as helps the animal owner make the best and most cost effective decision. Best vet in town!!

My husband took our cat to Steinway Animal Hospital for an abscess, where he did a blood analysis and urinalysis. They failed to order thyroid tests. The doctor also commented on his weight loss which honestly scared me at the time. A month later, he’s having seizures due to thyroid issues that could have been caught well in advance. This is a common issue in cats and should have been investigated. Take your beloved animals elsewhere.

Had a horrible experience here. When I took my dog yes I understood she was old she has problems. He ran test and he told us her biggest issue was kidney and liver problems. Sent a bunch of medication and after that she slowly started feeling worse and worse. We thought it was just the antibotics and that they were strong so it was reasonable. After 3 weeks we called for another appointment to find out that they were changing owners and they couldn't see us. Don't you think this should've been told to your client especially a client new coming in. We took her to another vet to find she had really bad pancreatitis and that was never told to us and they came to this conclusion with this place blood work. The new place showed me pictures of the of what her xray could look like and I knew what it looked like since the other doctor had said we needed an xray. WITH THE XRAY YOU COULD TELL SHE HAD SEVERE HEART PROBLEMS. This place just took our money at the end of the day if I could I'd give it no stars. WHEN HE SAW THE XRAYS HE SAID SHE NEEDED A SONOGRAM WHEN SHE REALLY DIDNT YOU COULD TELL SHE HAD A SEVERE HEART PROBLEM AND AT THE END OF THE DAY HE JUST WANTED MORE MONEY. A dog this old with sever heart problems doesn't have much of cure.Sadly my dog had to be put to sleep. This place is also very unorganized the second time we went they couldn't even find our chart. DONT GO HERE THEY WANT YOUR MONEY AND ARE UNORGANIZED!

Amazing, kind, and caring staff. When I had to evacuate my building due to a fire next door, one of the techs saw me and another resident standing outside in the cold with both of our cats and let us stay inside the clinic, they even offered to board our cats for the day (for free!) in case we had to leave. I ended up getting my cats vaccinations and checkup since she was there and was treated with kindness. Truly an amazing staff that cares for your pets and their wellbeing, would highly recommend them!

Do not bring your sick pets here as you will be turned away. I walked into this place yesterday with my sick Cavalier puppy. He was so lethargic that I had to had to carry him inside. I approached the desk crying and covered in his puke and they turned us away! I honestly couldn't believe they would turn away a sick dog like that.

Dr. Tadros and the staff at Steinway Animal Hospital are deeply caring, compassionate, knowledgeable, thorough and attentive. I have been bringing my cats to them for many years. While they always give us the highest level of care and services, they never push me to needless treatments or services. Their prices are very reasonable, considering the very high level of care. We recently had to put an old cat to sleep, and Dr Tadros was as compassionate and caring to me as if it was a human relative. Afterwards I received a handwritten condolence card from Karen, who had been at the front desk that day. If you love your pets, you must bring them to Steinway Animal Hosp.

Our cat's health took a dramatic downturn, and after a very stressful night, the folks at Steinway Animal Hospital quickly agreed to see us. They went about running tests and while we waited over night for the results, they made themselves available for all of our persistent questions and concerns. My wife and I were not handling it very well, but the staff and Doctor Tadros were able to treat us with the utmost patience, kindness, empathy and professionalism. We are very thankful that we had them during this very trying time for us. Thank you.

I found worms in my cat's litter box, and not knowing if it was serious or not panicked and called the nearest vets office. The front desk staff were very polite and got me in right away. Once I met with the vet however things took a turn. He told me that because my cat was so old (5 years) these worms could be very dangerous, and used other scare tactics to rile me up. He also told me that because I was "young and pretty" he was going to do a test for t gondi. I told him that wasn't necessary but they still did the test, along with several other tests I was not told about but charged for anyways. Not knowing how much of a nightmare this would eventually be, I also asked for my cat to be microchipped. According to the company's site the average price for a microchip is $45 and it is so small that anesthetic is not needed. They charged me $95 plus $35 for a "topical anesthetic". After I left I realized they had not given me the registration number for the microchip. I went in to get the info but they had lost it and said I would have to bring the cat back in. These people prey on uniformed, scared pet parents so that they can order unnecessary and extremely over priced services. I included a picture of my bill, and a few minutes on Google shows how their prices are twice and sometimes 10 times higher that the average. In the end all I needed was a dewormer I could have ordered online for $10. If you decide to take your pet here do your research first and don't let them scare you into giving them all your money.

Steinway Animal Hospital is my favorite animal hospital in Astoria. He gave my husky a good and thorough check-up and also gave him his rabies shot. Dr. Tedrose is very professional, knows a lot about animals and treats you like family. Will definitely bring my husky back.
