I've heard good things about this place but I can't say for sure because I can't get in. I checked the website first and nowhere is it posted that they aren't accepting new clients. I called and left a message asking for an appointment for my dog. There was no mention of not accepting new clients in their voicemail recording. I left a detailed message and the person who called back was clueless - sigh. I guess I'm lucky I didn't get in? Would it be so hard to post on their website and voicemail that aren't taking any more animals?

I just really appreciate that they’ve always been able to get my dogs in when I’ve been turned away from other clinics. I wish they were open on the weekend.

My dog had been throwing up all day and was extremely dehydrated and lethargic. The receptionist was very helpful in scheduling a last minute appointment due to a previous cancelation. Dr. Levin was very professional, knowledgable and compassionate. She was quick to call me and let me know the treatment that would be completed on my dog and she updated me along the way. Thank you for taking great care of my dog, Tracy. He is back to his normal crazy self. I definitely recommend Clare Eddy Thaw Animal Hospital.

The only reason I say the animal hospital is professional is because of Dr. K and her techs. We love them we won’t see any other vet. Unfortunately I can’t say the same about the receptionist lately. She’s very rude every time we call, not just for appointments but for refill medication. How are my fur baby’s supposed to see the vet when the receptionist doesn’t know what she’s doing or better yet DOESNT LIKE WHAT SHES DOING. It’s frustrating.

Had to put my poor bunny down. Why have us fill out paperwork with our loved pets name if your not gonna put it on the cremation certificate or container. I feel like they need to remember that is a very hard time for someone who just lost a loved one.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! Caring and Professional Veterinary care and part of the exceptional no-kill Santa Fe Animal Shelter. We've gotten great service and professional veterinary care for our loving shelter dogs. The Clare Eddy Thaw Animal Hospital provides veterinary services for animals at the Santa Fe Animal Shelter, as well. Veterinary care is expensive everywhere, but the prices here are slightly lower than at the other Santa Fe Veterinary Offices that I researched. In addition, using Thaw Animal Hospital helps support animals still at the shelter. And, for newly adopted animals from the Santa Fe Animal Shelter, they offer one free "well visit," within 30 days of adoption, to help give your pet a good start.

I went here yesterday with my beloved cat, who we discovered was suffering from end stage renal failure. The vet was very compassionate and treated my cat and I with utmost respect. Unfortunately there was nothing that could be done for my cat and we made the heartbreaking choice to put her to sleep. The staff allowed my boyfriend and I some time alone with her to say our final goodbyes. They had her positioned on a nice pet bed with warm, soft blankets. She went peacefully and with dignity. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone.

If you share your heart with animals, this is a wonderful place to go! This is where the lost, strays, and the unwanted go. The animals have wonderful shelters and great areas to play in. The employees love the animals, so you know the animals are well cared for. They have special rooms called Cuddle Rooms so you can see how you and your prospective future pet react to each other. It's okay if it doesn't work out the first time, or second time, etc. Animals have personalities, too, and you want to make sure you both have compatible personalities, or you will both be unhappy. The also have a store in-house, so if you need supplies when you adopt a pet, everything is right there. They also supply crates for $6.00 if you don't have one. The crates are a good size, so your pet won't freak out going in one. There is also an animal hospital next to the animal shelter where animals get checked out and treated for any illnesses, bugs, etc. They also get spayed/neutered, micro-chipped, receive a rabies vaccine, and get licensed here. If you have a dog, they offer behavior training classes. There is also a resale store called The Cat North & South that sells donated items like furniture, clothes, etc. If you have room in your heart for a pet, this is where you should go.

Do to not being able to accompany my dog Dash into the building for his exam I don’t think he got the best care as there was not a complete history taken & I feel he was not clearly diagnosed & just given meds & sent home to suffer instead of the vet doing the right thing & having a sensible discussion with me about what was wrong & the best course of action to take. In the end I sought out a different vet who gave me a firm diagnosis of lymphoma & I was able to put my ailing friend to rest which should have been done when he had been seen in the Thaw clinic on his last visit yet all the vet talked about at that point was possibilities & palitive care leaving him & in turn me watching him to suffer. Shameful vet care for real. Your spay neuter vet Dr Todd is the best one you have !!!

Called and scheduled an appointment for my dog who ate a box of chocolates. They told me to be there at 11:15. I arrived and checked in at 11:00. I waited patiently until 12:15. At that point I called again while waiting outside to check my status in line. Mind you the entire tome I’ve seen multiple cars come and go and drop their pets off. I was put on hold for 15 minutes. I was taken on a loop on the phone and had to hang up and call back multiple times until the receptionist answered again. She took down my pets info (again) and asked me what happened. I told her (again) that my dog ate a box of chocolates and she’s showing symptoms of toxicity like vomiting, drinking excessive water and irregular heart beat. She apologized for me waiting and said I would have to continue to wait. About 5 minutes after that call an employee came out to check her heart beat. She then let me know I was next and it shouldn’t take too much longer. At this point I was going on 2 hours and decided to leave. I didn’t feel comfortable leaving my dog in their care after they neglected her care for so long at this point. I thought a dog eating chocolate was a serious health issue but they didn’t care much. I feel really bad about the entire situation. I honestly think they just forgot about us. :(

Caution! Horrible! My family and I took our pup for help worried. They did several tests Provo blood work xray ect. As everything came back negative and all normal. Talked to the vet and she wanted to keep her for a night or two our family agreed as we wanted our furry family member to be 100% ok. Less than 24hrs later she was dead with no explanation or reason. We call early that morning to confirm out pet credit payment they happily replyed saying they did and said nothing 20mins later they e-mailed us saying to go over there and said our pup had passed with no reason. They then cleared our balance and said sorry we dont know what happened. IF YOU LOVE YOUR FURRY PETS LIKE FAMILY AVOID THIS PLACE GO ELSEWHERE NOT WORTH THE MONEY OR HEART BREAK!!! RIP XENA I'm sorry for the neglect care this place gave to you. STAY CLEAR ACCORDING TO THIS PLACE OUR DOG PASSED ALL TESTS BUT SOMETIMES HEALTHY PETS DIE FOR NO REASON! WOW really smh...

It took a while to get an appointment due to covid. I was offered stop gap options which felt helpful. Once on site, they came out to my vehicle to get the history and my animal. I waited in my car. The consult ideally should have occured by phone to minimize our contact. Phone reception is terrible there. The Vet eventually came out TO my car, which i was very thankful she did. I gave the tech my card & they brought out my animal, meds & receipt. Everything worked out and my animal is getting better. The staff were nice, i can't imagine them doing better under the circumstances. Cell service needs to improve but that may be out of their immediate control.

They really have stepped up their services this last few years. I understand a foster puppy had heart surgery there and is doing great now. I didn't know that was ever an option

They’ve always been so nice and helpful. The only problem is no matter how quiet (dead/not busy..a tumbleweed could roll past you) or how early you are for an appointment they leave you waiting in the waiting room at least 12-15 minutes past your appointment time. Even if it’s just a tech. visit.
