Monte Vista Pet Lodge Rio Rancho, New Mexico

All pet owners must go here for lodging needs! Dropped our two cats off here for over a week when we moved to the area and we highly recommend! Cages for the cats are not your typical size as they allow for more movement and is more friendly appearing! Staff are great as well and worked with me to have meds sent to their facility from out of state. Also has the pet hospital next door in the event of medicinal emergencies! Highly recommend and will be using again!!

Jenny the groomer is the very best She does a fantastic job with all my dogs.

Riot loves this place and they love him. I love that they keep us updated with how he is doing there while we are out of town/state/country.

Sent pictures of my pup throughout the stay and gave daily updates on how she was doing. When my dog was having stomach issues they accommodated her diet to make her feel better. Amazing staff and facilities!

We appreciate Monte Vista very much! We take our 4 yr old blue heeler there for boarding. He is very scared of other dogs and they are really good about that and show him lots of love and individual care. We highly recommend them!!

Please be cautious when leaving your pet here. Unfortunately we had an unpleasant experience. We were told we would have correspondence well we were away. We were also told our Amari would be out and about. We were told she would be in good hands. The phones were never answered when we called and when we arrived to pick her up we were met with knowledge of shortage of staff our pups things were lost and they couldn’t find them. We had a to wait an hour as they searched. We spoke to management with no regard other than they were busy. As I waited I saw a dog unattended in the back where the bath was with the loop around its neck and crying the whole duration well we were there and we were there for a good hour. I asked staff about the dogs safety and they said they only have four staff members. They finally brought her out without her things and said they would continue looking and call us back if they found them. They called us back later and said they found her things in the lost and found. Since she has been back she has had anxiety. We think she was left locked up for long periods of time. When I went to pick her things up working staff were sitting on the floor on their cell phone instead of taking care of the dogs. I should of known better when I dropped her off the staff who checked us in was not welcoming. FYI there is only 4 staff members. Our Amari is part of our family and we wished for a safe environment. Dogs are left unattended throughout the night, there is no staff there. We were so worried we came back from our trip early and were not allowed to pick her up till the next day due to their policy.

We boarded our cat for the first time and had a wonderful experience. They even sent photos of him while we were on vacation.

I've taken my dog, Mollie, to Monte Vista twice for boarding. Here's why I think they are the best: 1) They are always super nice and listen to details about your pet. (My dog has a lot of anxiety so they offered to put her in play time with calmer dogs) 2)They don't try to upsell you or nickel and dime you to death (one place I called wanted to charge me extra PER MEAL for using my own food!) No such shenanigans with Monte Vista. Their fees are reasonable with no hidden costs. 3) They're open on Sundays, so you dont have to wait (and pay for) an extra day if you come home on Sunday. All of the other places I called were closed on Sundays. 4)They don't mind if you call to check in on your pet, and they give a nice report on how it's going. 5) They're using Covid safe practices, so it's curbside service only. They're very positive, and Mollie seems happy and healthy when i pick her up. Will definitely use them in the future.

Best place in town. Very happy, friendly, conscientious staff! My 5 month old pup loves going there. Huge peace of mind when we go out of town or daycare days that she is well taken care of.

So very happy that I found this wonderful kennel. I have a 14yo Rottweiler/Shepard cross and a 9yo terrier cross. They both have been so well cared for each time I take them in. And...I drive from Tramway/Comanche area in Albuquerque because I know I can count on them getting excellent care and treatment at Monte Vista Pet Lodge.

We have been taking our dog here for boarding for 6 years now. I never have to worry about her while we are gone, as I know she is safe and well taken care of at Monte Vista Pet Lodge. In my opinion, they have the best prices for boarding and I love that they aren't just locked in a cage all day, but actually get play time with other dogs. My only complaint is that they fill up fast for holidays, so if you don't call way in advance to reserve a spot, you probably won't get in for a holiday. Thats my fault for waiting till the last minute though, as we can't ever make plans that far in advance due to work schedule.

Jackie did a fantastic job grooming my labradoodle 6 month old puppy! She spent time explaining the process and offered me choices to help determine what I wanted. I appreciated her expertise, kindness and patience! Office staff were also wonderful and very friendly.

Very impressed with this establishment! Both times I have gone inside, I was greeted kindly by a receptionist AND a staff member at the counter ready to take my pup. The facility was clean and organized. We are new to the area, and I actually felt relieved to know our boy was in good hands and was going to be making friends and playing. I loved seeing photos of my dog playing on their Facebook page! Also, I loved getting a little report card about our boy at the end of his stay! The report card also mentioned that they gave him a massage and bath before pickup! So sweet. Will definitely be using Monte Vista Pet Lodge again!

This place is amazing! We'd never kenneled our dog before and were unsure about the whole thing. We went to fill out paperwork and drop off shot info (which all could have been done via email) but we wanted to check the facility out. First you walk in and it smells fantastic. Not sure why but I thought it wouldn't. Then the lovely ladies that worked there gave us a mini tour to just check it out. It was immaculately clean and smelled great even back in the actual kennels. Also each time we went (drop off and pick up) there were different dogs happily playing in the generous playroom. We were running just a bit late for pick up which was going to be after they closed. The staff stayed a little late so we could pick up our pooch that day as she has pretty severe separation anxiety. We tried to tip them or pay extra and they refused that, said it was no problem and were very, very kind and understanding about the situation. I have already recommended them to my neighbors that travel and kennel regularly and would recommend them to anyone. We will definitely bring our baby there in the future if the need arises.

They were awesome with my kitty, Tiki! I really appreciated the photos while i was away ????. The "report card" was a nice touch upon arriving home. Thanks Emily and Xavier, she will be back!

We brought our dog here while we were on vacation. They took great care of him with no problems. Would recommend.

Biggest blessing to my family to have them available to take care of our fur baby. She is always happy to go there. They take excellent care of her!!!

Such a nice group of people!! And great service. Our pup is spoiled and loved there as much as at home. I KNOW our dog loves it there because when we had to take her back her 2nd visit, she shook her whole little Corgi butt in excitement when she saw the ladies! Anyone who knows Corgis knows that’s a very “I’m happy and excited” tail wag! We feel so comfortable leaving her there. And their prices are the best I found. Initially the reason I chose them was because they don’t have one price for “basic” care then ala carte the rest. Another one I looked at charged extra for additional walks, playtime, etc. Monte Vista gives them plenty of playtime, outdoor time, cuddles ... in one set price! But now, the price is the least of their praises. Their service is great, the facility is impeccably clean, and the staff is wonderful with our beloved pup. This pet boarder is truly a pet “lodge”!

I clean...reliable.....i just came from " Another place" and it was like the pound.

Professional staff. Took great care of our 2 dogs. Would take them back again if needed. Super clean.
