No other vet besides these folks have listened to me on how we would do the check up with my extremely anxious dog. Most vets can’t even finish the exam. We got through the full exam because they listened. That day my car and dog got stolen in front of the building. The staff drove around the neighborhood looking for my dog, helped me report her missing, held all of my other animals all day and cared for them while I sorted it all out. They also comped my visit because “that would be too much stress.” They also do call backs the next day to make sure your animal is doing good. Amazing staff. Won’t go anywhere else.

We like Dr. Voss, but unfortunately, we can no longer deal with the unprofessionalism of VCA West Mesa. The staff who answer the phones are consistently rude and unkind. After being hung up on 5 times from 2 different phone numbers this afternoon, the person who I finally was able to talk to purposely hung up on me when I expressed disbelief that my dog, who was last seen less than 10 months ago, would need to have an $89 exam to receive a vaccine he has had in the past. I am disappointed to have been treated so poorly by a business we have taken our 3 pets to for several years.

My dogs have come here for a while now. They all see Dr. Voss. He’s a great vet. He’s always super nice and is great with my girl that is nervous. The techs are nice and great with my dogs too.

Wanted to like them. They appeared professional, if a little rushed. The first appointment went well. Very thorough physical and also did the pre-op bloodwork and x-rays that I had asked for--all in 25 minutes. Very expensive but seemed worth it to get a clean bill of health. BUT after my dog's TPLO (done at another clinic), I needed one x-ray. Made an appointment on line two weeks ahead. Got a call from the receptionist the day before, cancelling the appointment because the appointment was 15 minutes, not enough time for an x-ray. Gave me the option of dropping off my dog at 8 and they would see if they had time to do the x-ray that day. I declined this because I was coming from out of town and was not able to accommodate this arrangement. The receptionist made another appointment for me for the next week. Two days before, I got an email asking me to confirm the appointment. I tried but the message came back that there was a problem. I called the clinic. Same receptionist said that there was not enough time in that appointment and I needed to drop off the dog and they would get to her when they had time. "Accused" me of making the appointment on line. Talked to the office manager who was very slick at handling my complaint. Gave me same option of dropping off the dog and seeing if they had time to do the x-ray. I refused. This corporation is WAY TOO BIG and not reliable.

I arrive and call to let them know I’m here because they will come outside to get her. On the call I had to correct the receptionist multiple times about my cats name, which I spelled out over the phone when I made the appointment. I had arrived early and ended up waiting nearly 20 minutes past my appointment time in the glaring sun for someone to get her. They could have just called me to tell me they were running behind. The tech who came out didn’t even know why we were here, bluntly asking me “why are you here?” The form he brought out had the wrong name for my cat and my name spelled incorrectly, which I had also spelled out over the phone when I made the appointment. After filling out the form the tech started rushing away, so I caught him and asked how long I should expect to wait and how I could talk to the vet. He said the vet would call me and it would be 30-40 minutes. Couldn’t they just tell me upfront what the process will be? Later I just barely missed the vet’s call, so I called them right back. The receptionist put me on hold. Nearly 10 minutes after the initial call I hung up and called again. The receptionist says “can you hold or is this an emergency??” I replied that my cat is in her exam and I think I just missed the vets call. She was like “ohh okay, give me a moment”. So I’m put on hold again and when my call is picked up it’s the receptionist again, who somehow forgot that she had put me on hold and didn’t transfer me to the vet, exclaiming “oh right!” and for the one millionth time called my cat by the wrong name, AFTER I SAID IT CORRECTLY TO HER AGAIN. Fast forward and I’m on the phone with the vet. There’s a brief silence because I assumed she would volunteer any information regarding what her exam may have revealed. Nope. After this weird silence she goes “what questions do you have for me?” Instead of “here’s what I found”. If I hadn’t asked about my cat’s oral health I highly doubt she would have told me that she has periodontal disease and a weird mass on her inner lip. Given that she’s a vet and I’m not I can’t know all the questions to ask. I can’t know everything I need to if the vet who is examining my cat doesn’t tell me. OBVIOUSLY. When I did ask her questions she would answer a totally different question. Basically I would have to repeat myself over and over again and by the 3rd or so time she would get around to answering the question I actually asked. Before we end the call she tells me that she will get me information on the cost of a dental cleaning. Twenty minutes later the tech returns with my cat and stands there looking at me. I hold out my hand for my cat and he hands me her paperwork then says “sooo... where do you want her?” Then he grabs a bottle out of a bag and is looking at it, turning it around and saying “uhh uhh umm this is umm...uhh you scratch this on her back and it’s free.” What is it? He didn’t know. Turns out it’s a flea/ tick/ heart worm prevention fluid. When he hands me the bottle I look at it and, for the 10 millionth time, the wrong name is on the bottle, even though the paperwork I gave them has her actual name on it and every person I’ve spoken to (receptionist, tech, vet) I have clarified her name to. My name is wrong too. He leaves and now I’m sitting in my car looking through the bag of stuff they gave me. Low and behold there is zero information on a dental cleaning. Not a pamphlet, estimate or anything on the receipt. Nothing. It’s also been an over an hour. It is clear that they are not paying attention and through my experience conveyed to me how little they care about me and my cat. They don’t care enough to put the correct name on my cats paperwork or call her the right name when they talk to me, despite numerous corrections. The vet tech clearly didn’t know what was happening. The receptionist is just rude, and it was clear to me that the vet did the bare minimum in terms of an exam for my cat and interacting with me to communicate important information. I will not be returning and do not recommend this vet AT ALL.

Have always received professional and compassionate care for my pets. Their hours are longer than most vets. Also able to get quick appointments for new concerns or emergencies. Services are expensive but do not know what to compare it to at other vet services.

Unfortunately, for us as pet parents we had to say goodbye to an endured pet. The Dr and staff were amazing and took the utmost care to help us with this transition.

I have a dying a cat.. They didn't allow walk ins. Convenience is more important than being helpful..

The staff is friendly and ready to take the time to explain your pets situation. Wait time once you check in seems to be a bit long, but perhaps that is the trade off for a non-rushed appt. unlike going to human physicians.

Finally someone to take an interest in helping me with my dogs anxiety issues. Dani just started this after my husband passed away 6 mths ago and he has just turned 9 yrs old. It's been frustrating not being able to go anywhere without him being stressed out.
