I wish I could give this place 0 stars. Don’t waste your time. My boyfriend took our boy here for help well hundreds of dollars later for them to have zero results and everything come back negative …

I have a large canine with allergies, so he goes to the vet quite a bit. This vet is always very courteous and professional as well as letting us know all our options and what those options mean. Sometimes they are a little busy, but I think that's because everyone knows how good of a service they provide.

This is one of the best veterinary clinic in Albuquerque! While there i could tell the staff loved there job and did everything with care. They helped my lil pup with everything they could and gave him the best care. All the vets/vet techs were so helpful and professional and honestly couldn't of done a better job. Will definitely be bringing my other pets.

My 10 year old dog wasn't doing too well a few weeks ago. He wasn't eating or using the restroom regularly and he seemed very lethargic. He's my kid, and as all dog parents know, we love our fur babies dearly. TLC was booked out pretty far (about 3 weeks) and so I made the appointment and was very concerned over whether my dog would be okay during that time period. I called them one Thursday evening, only a few days after I booked the appointment, and was near tears because I was so concerned over his declining behavior. They were able to squeeze me in THAT DAY around an hour out and spent hours with my dog. I'll admit that the tests, bloodwork, and X-rays were pretty pricey, but they took really good care of my fur baby and were very compassionate with me, who was shaken. Turns out my dog had pancreatitis, and they were able to get him on medication and a good diet to help him recover. Over the following days, the vet personally called me for three days to check in on my dog. We had good conversations about his health and I felt comfortable asking my questions. He's going back for a check-up here in a few weeks to see how he is doing. I just felt very heard and looked after. I know TLC can be a little bit on the pricier side, but with the care and concern that they show not only the pets but the humans, I always choose them.

I called to make an emergency appointment today and unfortunately they were fully booked. I spoke to an Amber, she had a happy voice and was trying to be helpful with my situation. I truly appreciate a place with kind customer service. I will be making an appointment with them after my pets emergency gets addressed somewhere else. Very pleased with my phone call.

TLC DOES NOT CARE ABOUT DOGS OR HEALTHCARE HEROS. We have been taking our dogs to TLC for years. However when our eldest chihuahua became ill TLC was unable to work with us. As a nurse in the pandemic I was unable to take time off to bring my dog to the vet. My husband is an incredible special Ed teacher and with APS not having subs he could not take our dog until an afternoon to be seen. TLC staff and doctor spoke with me on the phone both telling me they were unwilling to see my dog for over a month. I explained our professions and they simply did not care about our circumstances. Instead they said they couldn’t see our dog for a month. With that we left the clinic. Within 20 minutes we found a great new vet that was way more accommodating to special Ed teachers and healthcare heros. It’s a shame TLC has such little care for the people in our community.

Had our dogs here for years when we lived in ABQ. Expect them to try and charge you for everything under the sun that they can get money for. Only went here because of location, extremely expensive.

They are wonderful to our animals but WAY too expensive. We had taken our puppy in a few weeks before for an exam. We bought the puppy package. I had to take her in bcuz she was itching and was there 15-20 min at the most and the charges were ridiculous and there wasn’t any meds to buy. I was told to try over the counter allergy meds which I was happy to do. Nice people there but expect to pay 70+for a visit no matter how long or what it’s for. I have 4 dogs and I will not again I take them unless it’s a life or death issue.

We have been with TLC for five years. I brought my almost 15 year old doxie in to see a vet on Aug. 5 for a slight tilt in his head, sensitivity to head touch, and itchy skin. He was given a steroid shot and sent home with what the vet said was allergies. That visit cost me almost $200. Fast forward to Aug. 17 and my dog began falling over, vomiting up anything that he ate/drank, and was having rapid, strange eye movements. I called the TLC clinic and was told that he could be seen in a month or to take him to an urgent care. I think things were missed on the Aug. 5 visit. I feel this horrible incident could have been avoided had the vet been more thorough. I also feel, as a long term client, that there was a lack of compassion shown for my dog. I found a new vet that worked my dog in when they heard how serious his issues were. I'm happy to say, thanks to this new vet, that my dog is on the mend. I will not be returning to TLC for my vet needs. They have become too big, too understaffed, and too indifferent in my opinion.

I called this morning concerning a possible obstruction in my dog Bailey, she was not eating food or drinking fluids. I know they have been super busy and have not had openings. With that being said they still made a way to get her in and treated this morning. I am beyond thankful for the staff there, Dr. Salas was very friendly and explained to me everything that was going on and the treatment. Thank you so much!!!

DO NOT TAKE YOUR PETS HERE!!!!!!! My son took his dog to have surgery here and I was going to pay over the phone. Unfortunately my bank flagged the charge and it took a timely manner to resolve the issue with my bank. They said the only other option would be bringing the dog on a Friday and it staying over night. Then called my son back and said they didn't have any availability for weeks but the surgery would need to be done sooner and we would need to go somewhere else. Zero stars on actual caring about your pets. Scumbags

TLC has always treated our cats well. When we had to make the difficult choice to put one our cats to sleep last year they were super compassionate and offered multiple options we could try, but were honest with what would be best for her, something that I think is very important. With our other cats they have always been very thorough with their check ups and care and always willing to go the extra mile to ensure they are properly being taken care of and are always more than happy to answer any questions. Staff is always super kind, including doctors, techs, and receptionists. Wait times are currently a bit longer than they used to be, but given the circumstances of the pandemic it is understandable, and the safety of their clients is clearly a priority. Curbside service has not impacted the quality of care given. Definitely one of the better, if not best, pet hospitals in ABQ.

The denied my dogs tumor had grown and refused to operate on it when we asked. It ruptured and we had to take him to the emergency vet for a surgery I stead. They also have given our pets the wrong vaccines, after confirming them with us. It was a bad experience all around and every time we went in. They really.talked down to me and made me feel like a bad mom because they thought they knew more about my pets than I do. Truly awful service.

My pup wasn't doing well and I needed an appt for her ASAP. They got her in that day and ran tests to find out what was wrong with her. She was at least 16 yrs old. I had adopted her and they weren't quite sure when she was born. They guessed she was 2. I could go on and on about my Izzy. Best friend, loving, unconditional love bug... You get the picture. Results came back pretty quickly and it was apparent that she losing kidney function and had pancreatitis. She had lost so much weight... Everyone there was so compassionate and truly sorry I had to make such a difficult decision. I took her home until the next day in the afternoon. I wasn't ready. Who is? She didn't suffer and slipped away quickly and so quietly. ???????? I'd never been here before but they treated both of us very kindly. I am still grieving and will for some time. If you ever have to go through this horrible part of losing a beloved fur baby I would definitely recommend these folks. It's hard even writing this, but if it helps anyone it's worth it.

We were actually referred to this hospital by another pet ER. They went above and beyond for us. Amazing care, compassionate, knowledgeable. I would absolutely recommend anyone to this pet hospital.

I used to be pretty fond of them, but unfortunately not so much anymore. It seems like services overall tend to be substantially higher than other practices. And understanding of customer care and concerns tends to be black and white. (It’s also disconcerting to express a significant concern about a pet and be told “You’ll have to go to the ER instead if it gets worse. We’re booked out until next month.”)

From the moment my fur baby was referred to TLC my experience has been amazing! They are attentive, patient, friendly, and kind. From the reception, to the surgeon, they run a very cohesive and engaged hospital. The doctor explained everything in detail, and called me before and after her surgery. I didn't feel like a panicked pet parent because the entire staff put my mind at ease with all interactions. Highly recommend

Dr. Salas was awesome! He was upfront and through, which was appreciated. He was able to find a cause for my cats issues, where, and I hate to say it, the other vets did not. I’m pretty sure I’ll be taking all my pets to TLC in the future.

I’ve taken my white boxer there a few times for skin cancer checks and to have some growths surgically removed. Dr Schaefer and Dr Salas are great! They’re patient answering questions and very knowledgeable. The staff who answer the phones and escort the animals in and out are great too. They’re very careful with COVID and have strict protocols in place to ensure everyone’s safety. They also have an online pharmacy with an auto-ship option for long-term medications, which is super convenient.

My dog had surgery there. It was the only place who would even see us. One vet was hesitant to do the surgery l. I should have known why. The other one said it would be ok. They told me all of the X-rays were clear so he would be ok to have the procedure. The test came back and it was cancer. They gave him 4 months. A month later the cancer came back. My dog was in severe pain again. I called and this time they were super rude, but offered to give medication for pain. Then suggested I probably should euthanize him. I took him to another vet who immediately said there was no way they wouldn’t have seen the chance before. They just wanted money, I guess. Please go elsewhere. My poor dog ended up suffering twice.

Super veterinary service provider. I've used 2 other veterinary service providers over the years. I rate TLC far above them.

I can see why TLC has the best ratings in town. Supportive staff, great doctors and very reasonable rates! This is my new vet.

It’s completely pointless to even have this vet office as your pets potential team! You literally WILL NEVER GET IN! Two weeks to over a month before your animal can be seen is hideous. Literally never going back. Your animal will die first or you just get sent else where. Just look anywhere else over this place. ZERO stars in reality.
