OH MY GOD! Horrible experience. Team working on the billing counter are totally clueless and so not trained for the job. I bought few items and the system didn’t apply the Buy1 Get1 offer and hence I was over-charged (so obvious fix- they refund the extras charges). When I went back to get that fixed they were clueless. To my shock, they were not able to understand their own receipt. Once I explained then they couldn’t match with their system (I had to point it out what they were doing wrong). After 10min the lady gave me few receipts and said “it is fixed”, WITHOUT giving me the refund. What!!! After another explanation they finally understood and gave me the refund. Spent 15min. Horrible experience. I’ll go PetSmart next time. The only reason I am writing the review is b/c they didn’t even acknowledge their own issue, their inability to 1st understand, 2nd fix the issue, and not even a simple “sorry for the inconvenience”. You lost my business, Petco.

I live in Somerset and have been to every Petco in a 10 mile radius. Raritan is the best, hands down. Brandi was able to squeeze my dog Baxter into her tight schedule on 11/9. Brandi, if you see this, Baxter loves you. This is the second time she has groomed him and he is so clean, cute, and smells so good when she is through with him. When I went to checkout my cashier was the bomb as well. She applied all my applicable rewards...usually they don't do this at checkout, you have to remind them and she even helped me navigate through the Petco App which can be difficult. I don't mind driving 1/2 hour out of my way to go to this Petco at all. While Baxter is being groomed I go have lunch at Panera and pop in 5 an Below. It's the perfect location as well. Beats out Milltown, Edison, and Piscataway...not even competition. We love you ????. Idk how much these pros are making but they deserve a raise! As a former waitress, I would like to say, please tip these women when you are happy with the outcome. I can tell they work hard and put their heart into their occupation.

This place is always clean and the employees are very polite and helpful. Whenever I can’t find something, they always help me and my two beautiful dogs :)

petco grooming is the worst ever. I took my 10 month old puppy and they shaved him completely without informing me. I will not recommend petco grooming.

My puppy is EXTREMELY socially anxious around new people so I was VERY nervous about bringing him into the store for our first training, everyone who worked at the store understood his needs and was so kind and gentle with him. He even let one person give him treats and that's HUGE for him, they didn't push him to be cute for them, and I was EXTREMELY grateful for that.

I brought my pomsky for a trim and they shaved him without letting me know. It’s completely uneven and his coat is now ruined. I wouldn’t bring any pet here for a haircut.

The Raritan store is not organized, has a gross smell in it, not enough product for cats. Very poor selection of cat toys and shampoo products. They do not offer prescription cat food so I prefer to shop at Petsmart in Bridgewater. This store needs a facelift and a good cleaning and new products need to be brought in.

Mike was beyond helpful. I was totally clueless about setting up a small fish tank. My fish would've likely died the same day. Mike taught me all about the different fish types, glofish, water conditioner, and so much more. Didn't eat to upsell anything. And helped me make th right decision. I probably took up 30 mins of his day just trying to figure out what fish and fish tank to get. Thank you for all the help!

Things are a bit overpriced, and you can get many items, at least in the aquarium department, more cheaply online at other stores or even at the Petco website for in-store pickup.

I had gone today with my daughter to purchase a simple goldfish for a simple 3 gallon aquarium. My child picked out the fish and we were told we could not get a goldfish unless we had a 15 gallon tank. We instead bought two Dalmatian mollies. They died within 5 hours of being home. I did not bring them back because well ewww dead fish, and I did not want replacement fish. I wanted one goldfish to swim in a little tank.

Had appointment to have my small dog’s hair cut and got jammed up in traffic due to an accident making me 10 mins late. This place refused to provide the service when I got there . I’d get it if I were 20 or 30 mins late but I wasn’t . This joint get the popper scooper award. Hal out

Customer service was amazing. Very friendly with me and my pup. I believe it was Lauren that introduced herself to us and had a great conversation about petco. She had great things to say about petco. If the employees are happy then i think its a great company. Another reason we will be coming back.

The girl who helped pick out food for my overweight cats was great! So friendly and informative! Also, didn't mind that I had my one year old with me and we walked around looking at all the animals too.
