Typically, I have very little faith in big commercial pet stores. I’ve always liked Petsmart, among them all, but mostly just for supplies. Until now! I made my first visit with my toddler close to Christmas time, and we decided to add another snake to the family. The milk snake we got is lovely, healthy, and the customer service was wonderful. Laura took time to talk to my daughter and show her other pets too. It was busy, and still she was so gracious to us. Then, we made a return visit and met Emily. Emily was equally gracious and kind. She introduced my daughter and I to the rats and geckos. It turned a regular errand into a really fun and informative trip. Both Laura and Emily are so knowledgeable. The information they can call to mind to answer questions quickly is amazing. We got a beautiful betta fish, but failed to get the water just right. Unfortunately, he didn’t make it, and both Emily and Laura helped on several subsequent return visits. They not only pointed us towards the best gear, but educated my family and I about the lives and needs of betta fish. They have created a freshwater aquarium enthusiast in me, as well as a very loyal customer.

Hope you know that there is an incompetent “groomer” who refuse to take appointments requests. Tells me only the cat groomer can book the appt. Never left my number for her to call me. I called PetSmart on Oregon avenue and he took the appt with no problem. Last I checked they all have the same system so no one person should have to call me if you’re competent enough. She has a strong bias that isn’t wanted or professional.

They are very pleasant here and the store is new so it’s in great condition ! I don’t want to disclose the employees name but my dogs sanitary trim was horrible, his nails were much sharper when he left then before he came and his face was cut very unevenly, it was so visible that we had to cut the extra hair off ourselves. He did smell good tho ! 3 stars

Some of the groomers don’t understand anything about animals here. Specific staff like to stalk customers here and sing loudly in the store which distracts the patrons. Clean store otherwise with lots of light

Hmm came across a manufacturing issue (which I suppose is not too common) but they had no idea how to handle it.! I go to this petsmart often and the customer service is mehh (not expecting superb) but wow just pray there’s no manufacturing issue bc there is ZERO WAY of rectifying this. Great job guys ????????????

Emily, knows and cares a lot about the animals. Had a wonderful experience getting a pet from them .highly recommend this store and everyone is really nice and helpful.

Christy is the best groomer! She treats your dog with such love and care. My pup feels so comfortable with her. Also the staff are generally kind and helpful. Best Pet Smart location by far

Be aware that for grooming services they will keep your pet for four hours as standard. I am not sure why they don't just schedule fewer pets on a narrower time frame, but my dog was sitting in the back for about two to three hours before they brought him out to trim. I don't understand why they wouldn't just ask us to come two hours later. They also do not post their walk-in services on their website, so while we only really needed the $20ish package, we wound up having to schedule for a nearly $70 package because we didn't know the $20 one existed until after checking in. I think they must be understaffed, and I do feel bad for the groomers because they were very nice. I think the problems are mostly systemic/corporate. Either way, I will be trying to find an alternative groomer in the city, and if I can't I might just make the trip to the suburbs for my old PetCo every month and a half.

Overall a terrible experience. Negative attitude from the moment I dropped him off. His appt was at 12. I had him there at 11:47 and she said “his appt is at 12. I can get him then.” Not in a polite or friendly manner. She acted exhausted and annoyed. He was there 3 hours and they then called me to say she wanted to shave him down for 2 small areas of matting. I told them when I dropped him off he was booked for a commercial and just needed to be cleaned up and slight cut. Instead of solutions she just didn’t want to be bothered. I just stopped by another groomer for them to look at and they said it wouldn’t be an issue. They booked him for this Wednesday and there will be no shave down. This groomer said she didn’t feel any matting as she stated. Again the entire vibe was like she didn’t want to be bothered from the start. Bottom line is my dog is big and she couldn’t be bothered. Don’t waste your time here. They have lost all of my future business in grooming department and retail.

Amazing staff. Stanley (I think?) went above and beyond, helping us new dog owners pick out the right crate and explain the fundamentals of crate training. The man was extraordinary helpful, so welcoming, corrected us and encouraged us in the right direction. We will be back.

Deyona was an amazing groomer. She is the only person who has been able to brush our dogs teeth! This is the cleanest our dog has ever been. Highly recommend.

I’ve been to Petsmart a couple times since they opened and I have to say I’m thoroughly impressed. The store is laid out well, it’s brightly lit, shelves are stocked, it’s clean and the employees genuinely seemed to want to help you. My only complaint would be that the prices are a bit higher then what I’d pay if purchasing online but it is a brick and mortar so I can understand since they have a higher overhead f *edit 4/5/19 - I have now been to this location approximately 8x. I have been in with my friends dog as well as my cat and the staff is always friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, I’m not impressed with the groomers and the length of time it takes for them to execute a standard grooming. I will say that the woman who handled my cat was very professional even after I expressed my disappointment in not being told my cat would be there for 3-4 hours. The groomer kept me in the loop during her stay and my cat seemed happy when I picked her up however because of how the grooming is expedited with multiple cats/dogs and being rotated between them I won’t return for grooming. I’d prefer to have an appointment where my cat sees a groomer that’s dedicated to one animal from start to finish. **they price match Chewys and Amazon!!

This a very well stocked store. They always have what I need and more. Cudtservice is always friendly and helpful. I can always order online, and pick up in store, or have it delivered same day.

The place is clean, but a little cramped with most sections not dog/cat related tucked away in the corners. But the aquatic section was like a dream come true for an aquarist like myself. Impeccable tanks with reasonable amounts of fish and no dead bodies littering the bottom. There was a delightful staff member that I did not manage to get the name of who worked in the aquatic section, but she was amazing in answering all my questions.
