I had the best experience with Pure Paws. I am a first-time cat owner and adopted an older cat with some health issues. She was very skittish and exceptionally difficult to get into the carrier before her appointment, and I kept having to call and reschedule her appointment. Everyone I worked with from the front desk to the vet techs to the vet took excellent care of her and went above and beyond, never showing the slightest annoyance at my frantic calls. They are wonderful people and I am so lucky to have found this clinic :)

The lack of professionalism is astounding. They will forget a task you ask them to do on the phone and then call you back to tell you that it’s your fault that you did not tell the receptionist in person to confirm. And their attitude on the phone, jesus christ.

I will tie this review back to my name so everyone knows how legitimate it is. I found a cyst on my dogs chin and brought her in to this vet over 3 weeks ago to have it looked at. After summarizing charges that were over $1k, I decided to move forward thinking that I was doing what’s best for my dog and given how descriptive and detailed the estimate was, I figured I could trust the vet. Just days later, I get the lab report back along with a phone call saying that they couldn’t “grab enough cells” in the sample of the cyst in order to conclude what it was. Yes — after $1k+ of charges, I was given an “inconclusive” response. The vet called me saying that I could bring my dog back to get “another sampling of the cyst” for a “discounted fee”. I put the well-being of my dog first, and I decided to bring her back for another sampling so we could figure out if the cyst is benign or not. Since that decision, I have called the vet 4 times to schedule the appointment and 4 detailed voicemails. I haven’t received a call back and it’s been radio silence. I feel completely robbed and I will never return back to this place. If I could give 0 stars I would because I don’t believe in unprofessional vet services. I gave every chance for them to call me back, and never heard back. I can’t imagine they even have the staff capacity to respond to reviews since no one is there answering phones. Trust me when I say this is exactly what happened and there is no way around it. If you are smart and care about your pet you would know to not bring your pet to this vet after reading this fully transparent review.

They ignored my puppy's refill request 5 times and my puppy was left with no pills for a coupe of days. And they double charged for our prescription one time, luckily I called them out. This vet is very careless and doesn't seem to care about your puppy. They say they will email you but just never did. Avoid them at all cost.

I also know Ae Suk & her dog, who left a 1-star review here and I will explain what happened to her too. My dog did well here, the incisions were larger than I expected, but my dog did have many tiny masses. Minus 1-star, because one suture was not removed and now a month later, it's infected, so I have to go back in this week. Price-wise, it is the usual for this area. I was lucky to be assigned a decent vet. For Ae Suk, she felt manipulated because her vet was crying to her with crocodile tears the first time the vet checked and even met her dog. So Ae Suk felt very manipulated and it wasn't professional. Then her dog had 3 masses on alternating sides of her breast/belly. Instead of an incision on each side, her vet cut and stitched her dog in a serpentine/zigzag manner with drainage tube. Mind you, Ae Suk's dog is a small breed and over 11 years old.

There are several vets that aren't robotic and run crazy testing. Careful. They will fear you into spending alot of money.

They had next day availability to see my pooch and get him scheduled for some much needed surgery, very kind and considerate staff that clearly love their animals!

I have been using them for about 3-4 years and they have been excellent with my dog and my cat. They recently squeezed me in when I was very worried which really mattered to me. I live in the neighborhood and they feel like a great fit -very friendly and easy going.

I took my cat to Pure Paws for the past few years until he passed away. The 5 stars is particularly for Dr. Liff. She was so helpful in diagnosing my cat with lymphoma on immediate presentation. She went above and beyond the entire week while my cat ended up getting catastrophically ill. She responded to calls/texts after hours and came in to fill medications herself when others couldn't. She made an incredibly difficult situation so much better by helping discuss my options. My cat ended up passing away at the hospital within a week of diagnosis but I still don't think Dr. Liff could have been any better than she was. My only slight negative is the front desk staff didn't always grasp the full gravity of the situation and sometimes lacked a sense of urgency. But Dr Liff helped with this and they understood with explanation.

I took my dog here since I was new to the neighborhood and thought it was good because they had availability upon my first call. Same day availability. Well I took my pup in for a check in and they sent me home with meds for her. A few days later I called and emailed and the doc.. Dr. Kurtz... never got back to me. No most recently (2wks later) I called for my little one's medical record and it took almost a whole 2 days to send electronically! Seriously.

I found a stray kitten that needed help and this was the only vet able to book an appointment within a week for me, all others needed a month for a new patient. I Received a new patient discount of $50 and a free ear cleaning for the stray cat I found. So glad to have them as a vet now! Meant to be!

I absolutely adore Pure Paws Veterinary. Everyone there is super nice and helpful, and they do a great job of taking care of my puppy when we come in for both routine and emergency visits. I can't recommend them enough!

Place is money hungry!! Will nickel and dime you for anything, even if it’s not necessary! No appt has been less than $250 for my 9 month old healthy puppy.

NOT VALUE NOR HEART!! I am in another aspect of pet care. I deal with many dogs and owners. This place is money orientated. Vet isn't very qualified, regurgitates what you told the nurse you think is wrong. Orders unnecessary tests. Then follow up, didn't address what I went in for.... gave me a medical scare to encourage an expensive test, PP $750, Dr Fisch $525 (5 blocks away). I was going to move my pet care here... NO EFFIN WAY! RUN.

My dogs go-to vet. They're made sure he stays happy and healthy the entire time, I've been in New York. They even helped make sure he was better when he had a bad back. My #1 vet choice in NYC!!

Shout out to Dr. Rebecca Kurtzman. I’ve been so many vet with my Rotti and Dr. Kurtzman is one of the best I’ve ever seen. She explained everything about taking my dog back to China and I can feel that she loves my dog when she talked about the relationship between her family and Rottweiler. Also appreciate all the work from the nurses and the front desk. They picked up every call so quickly and they literally know everything. Amazing team! I really wish I can meet them earlier! If you are looking for a Vet that responsible for your dog and friendly to deal with everything, Pure Paws and Dr. Kurtzman are definitely the one!

Outstanding care. Dr. Alex was amazing, as was the staff. They were extremely accessible and patient when I had questions and did a great job keeping me informed. My puppy was scheduled to be spayed and there were a number of issues that came up which complicated getting the procedure done. I thought I would have to postpone for months (which I did not want), but they were able to get it done. Dr. Alex is very thorough and calming. This is my third dog in NYC and I would say that this was the best veterinary experience I have had.

Dr. Stephanie Liff is the best vet in the city! She genuinely cares for my animals. I have seen other vets in this office as well and everyone is wonderful. All staff are friendly and willing to go above and beyond!

Not very good. Took my dogs once and I felt they were just in for the money more than the dogs.
