Banfield Pet Hospital Nanuet, New Jersey

Very difficult to get an appointment, had to wait weeks. Then less than a week before the appointment, they called to reschedule. My puppies wellness plan got canceled because he wasn't seen in their allotted time frame (as he was unable to get an appointment). I will be canceling all of my appointments and will no longer be using Banfield.

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!! Brought my cat in for limping, was handed a $550 bill as soon as I walked in, WITHOUT ANYONE LOOKING AT MY CAT! I drop off my cat at 11am pick him up at 3pm COMPLETELY DRENCHED IN HIS OWN PEE due to the irresponsible staff that did not care to take my pet out of his carrier during his visit. I tried to cancel my wellness plan for TWO of my cats only to be told I’d have to pay my balance (about $455) for the rest of the year in order to terminate. Banfield does not care for the wellness of your pet but rather the money that your pet can bring into their facility. They take good care of my two doggies. The doctors knew my dogs ???? from Birth, and every time I go it’s fast quick and not stressful. They also take the time to explain all the transactions that will take place before you commit.

The vet and nurses are so patient and loving!!! They took such good care of my kitten!

They don't accept emergency . And personnel do not care about the dogs... Look like they only care about pet registered and is not Very friendly place.

Excellent experience at this location! My cat was coughing and visibly not breathing well. She was seen and treated by Doctor Olsen and assisted by Brittany. Both of you were very kind and professional - thank you so much! My furry kid is doing much better and no longer coughing or experiencing difficulty breathing. Could not have asked for a better experience at this pet hospital so I wanted to write a nice review. Thanks again!

I switched to Banfield after not being able to afford a private vet practice for my dog. Their Wellness Plans have definitely saved me from very high vet bills. After adopting a new kitten last October, I now have both pets on Wellness Plans and it has made things a lot easier for me. My only gripe is when they get very busy they tend to be a little disorganized, but it's nothing too crazy. But other than that I'm VERY satisfied.

Always polite front desk staff, the entire team right up to the doctor take great intrest and concern for you pet friends needs.

No matter when you call you are put on hold for almost 20 minutes. It is impossible to get any questions answered easily

This location was a bit rocky at the start of COVID but has improved very much since. Be very clear about what you want and need for your pet regarding drop off or not.

Doctors are great. But trying to get someone on the phone is impossible. Not matter when you call you’re put on hold for 10-20 minutes and you’re lucky if someone actually picks up after 20 minutes.

I brought my cat here for neutering, immunizations, nail trim etc. and I must say that it was a pleasant experience. Staff were very nice, attentive and professional. They explained everything and always kept me updated on what was going on with my cat. I would highly recommend. ????

Dr Chin is the best veterinarian! Provides great care for our 2 shih tsu babies!

The doctor said really know their stuff in their own this and they keep it 100 with you

My wife and I have been bringing our two Shih Tsu’s to Banfield for the last 12 years . We travel up to this Nanuet location because Dr Chin and his staff are great. Today, Tigger had a sick appt and they use all necessary protocols during this crisis to be sure dog patients and their owners are safe. My wife spoke to 3 staff members today and Dr Chin and all of them were so helpful with her.

I have been visiting this Banfield since they opened. They were great at the beginning but lately, service has degraded. Front desk people are amazing and love all them. Unfortunately, doctors work like an assembly line, you get in and out within minutes. Do not explain what is wrong with the patient (my dog), do not spend time listening to our concerns or answering our question. If the vet would listen to the information I can provide, the vet could provide better diagnostic and prescribe the right medication.In addition, the vet prescribe medications but do not explain what is it for. It is shame that the quality service went bad.

It took them 5 hours to call me to pick up my cat and I also got charged way too much for the medicines. A medicine that they charge $52.49 costs $21.37 dollars in other places.

I take my dog there for the puppy plan (which is great) but my dog was sick and extremely dehydrated this past week, I had called them and explained that she has been throwing up and had diarrhea and she couldn't keep anything down at all and looked very bad. They told me that they couldn't see her for another 2 weeks and to call another location! I did and all of them said they couldn't see her but the Garfield location could but not until the next day at 6pm! I called Park Ridge Animal Hospital and they took her right away! If I had waited my dog would've been dead from dehydration!!!

My experience at this location has been amazing including the doctor's Olsen and Melendez to the staff that works in the back to the front desk ladies including Monica. They truly cared for Sashi and to have compassion in helping us out to loving our cat. Truly being serious the doctor's and this location in truly amazing. Thank you all so very much. I cant stop thanking you all enough. Sashi loves all of you. She is so claim as you can see sitting on the table at banfield.

Front desk assistant Veronica was extremely rude. No smile or communication outside of 'sign here'. Her overall vibe sasso rude I wondered about the treatment my dog received. After spending almost $500 for treatment I will never return and will also discourage my friends and family from visiting this vet until there is perhaps training for the people who you encounter first and should represent the company with more professionalism Thank you

the “doctors” here don’t care about animals. i came in because there is something wrong with my dogs hind legs. she is unable to walk and get up herself. we tell the doctors that and then they give us medicine but they didn’t say for what. then the next day they call us and say she has an infection but they didn’t say for what. it’s been three weeks now and it didn’t help at all. she is worse now. if you care about your pets do NOT bring them here.

Great vets. I always take my cat there. They are busy so an appointment is necessary, unless of course it's an emergency. Quality vet care, a little pricey, but like everything else, you get what you pay for. They also have a great team of pet groomers, (yes, even cats)
