We spoke very little with the doctor which was off putting so we couldn’t know exactly what was being done or needed to be done with our pet and spoke mainly with an assistant that explained what had been done/should be done (possibly because of covid restrictions but, these were never explained to us if there are any restrictions). The appointment went fine for our pet, I think; what needed to be done was done and we are grateful we could. Thank you for your help but I won’t be back.

This will be the last time I come into Banfield and will not be taking my pet there after my wellness plan expires. Every time we take my dog in the staff will constantly recommended additional tests (which just so happens to not be included). For my most recent visit on 8/31 it happened again and I have had enough. The vet technician came into the waiting room and asked me what the present problem was. I responded that her third eye lid sometimes comes over her eye. Without even examining my dog (looking for reflexes etc.) she tells me that we will have to pay for an eye drop to see if there are any abrasions. I understand that is the most likely situation but you still should examine the dog!!. I am a psychologist and would never tell a client to pay me anything additional without even doing a basic assessment….unacceptable.

We didn't get to use the service yet but we did get a lot of information from the front desk and the woman there was so informative, and very helpful

Said they charged flat rates on the phone. Charged way more and tried to give a week of multiple prescriptions. Nice people, though

Nice, clean, professional & caring. Both Docs at the Manahawkin location are great. The only downfall is all of the extra costs after each well visit (even with the Wellness plan).

I normally don’t write reviews but this needs to be said. I’m too upset to write right now. My boyfriend also being upset upset wrote this........... The way the staff treats clients/pet owners the second there is an issue with service, animal care etc...they get vicious and there is very little compassion. If your animal gets a teeth cleaning and they dont clean the teeth properly or if they recommend a tooth pulled and they tell you the cost...more than a human...and this is with their wellness care health package that is supposed to save you money...and in some cases it does, but oh boy, do they go hard on teeth extractions....my girlfriend brought her chihuahua with teeth issues and not only did they do a horrible job cleaning his teeth, they were asking up to hundreds per tooth to be pulled..i cant even get into the rude, visceral retorts the staff had with her, tells her her dog had an infection in his mouth, but wouldn't give her an antibiotic, this is all without even seeing her dog in months since he had his teeth cleaned, they said, we will only give u an antibiotic in two weeks if u bring your dog in to pull a couple teeth...this is after they told her the dogs liver, kidneys and heart are getting damaged, but are in no rush to see her dog and prescribe an antibiotic until she can afford to pull the teeth...fortunately I'm going to pay to have them pulled,...my girlfriend is a single mother, going through hard times, she is an animal lover that has rescued dogs, cars, chinchillas etc, and she always takes care of these wonderful abused animals, its sad that Banfield and other vers have no compassion for animals and their parents when times get togh...Iagain, fortunately she has me now to help out with some of her pets bills, but im not going to spend it at Banfield pey hospital...ever, I'm livid...sorry for the rant, I just dont want to see you go through the same treatment. Our animals are like our kids...greed over compassion is unacceptable....

I will not be returning. The prices are just too high. In order for me to get the 2nd Lyme vaccine they charged me another visit. I have never had a vet do that before. I am going to just stick with the local vets, corporations are known for just wanting the most money they can get and the policies aren’t ideal.

My dog, as dogs do, ate something he shouldn't have and got pancreatitis. I brought him in terrified and left feeling confident and knowing my pup had gotten the best care. Great experience as always!

We bring our girl Phoebe here. Dr. Hack, Dr. Candela and the staff are all amazing. They’re extremely professional, helpful, and easy to talk too. We leave with every question and concern answered. Also, the puppy plan is a great value. Definitely recommend Banfield to all dog and cat owners!

It was a very pleasant time during the visit the front liners that registered us were very pleasant and remembered us from the phone I made to them and welcome me and my 3week old puppy like family. Then moving to the personal in the veiwing room were very professional and also very informative about the services that yall perform. The doctor was a informative of what was being done and a special thank to one tec in particular jade made the visit very calming

I will start by saying most of the staff here were extremely rude. There was confusion concerning the wellness plan, it took them almost 45 minutes to give me a definite answer after several different answers were given to me by 3-4 different employees. In the meantime through this entire process I could hear the staff through the room doors complaining about my friend and I. Mind you, they knew this was my first time owning a dog, so I expected them to be a bit more understanding regarding some of my concerns and confusions. Thankfully I have moved out of this area and will be going to the Banfield in Brick where they are much more welcoming. I will never be coming back here I was very close of leaving in the middle of the appointment. If you are looking for a vet do not come to this Banfield.

They are NOT set up for emergencies but charge emergency fees. Waisted hours and over 500$ taking my pet here to have to have the same thing done AGAIN with another hospital over 1.5hrs away. Could not even give meds to keep him comfortable for the ride. Might be a good place for immunizations and weigh ins.

I recently relocated back to South Jersey from Virginia and have been searching for the nearest Banefield to bring my pet for his routine check ups. BUT AFTER reading the eerie reviews about someone name Dr. Hack, y'all convinced me to AVOID bringing my pet to this location???? Thanks for the heads up.

We just want to thank the whole banfield staff for always going above and beyond for us. I contacted the hospital today and Nicky told me she would personally bring our pets medicine to our car because she knows that my husband is undergoing treatment for cancer. She is such a sweetheart. As the whole staff is they as always offer any help to us. Dr. Candella is the best. We have been his patient for a very long time and appreciate everything he has done for us. Just wanted to give a great big thank you to all for your dedicated work. We truly appreciate it.

All about making money at this place. Cannot fulfill even the simplest requests without having an office visit - which usually takes a minimum 2 days before a visit is available. Seems they prefer pets stay in discomfort. Not impressed

Dr.Hack is by far the WORST, most unprofessional “veterinarian” I have ever seen in my 22 years of being a pet owner. I had the most horrific experience with her and left in tears. I can’t even talk about it I get so upset every time I think of how she treated my poor Gigi. I will seek legal advice and never ever return to banfield or ever recommend them to anyone. Do yourself and your pet a favor, do not go to Banfield and dr.hack!!!

Doctos run a lot of unnecessary test and will not approve generic meds even when same formula will not work to manage care.

Needed meds for new pup for his ears. Brick couldn't take him but Manahawkin Banfield got him in at 10 am and everyone was great .
