Since Dr. Jamie is no longer at Hackensack animal Hospital I have tried on many occasions to keep going there they do not call you back they’re open they do not answer their phone if there’s an emergency you have to go somewhere else and nobody can keep Hackensack animal Hospital Open with a staff like that and I vet that really doesn’t care about animals and really doesn’t know that much either so if I were you I would not go to them anymore the best thing to do is call it Westwood animal Hospital best staff and compassionate and knowledgeable

I made an appointment thinking Dr Krauter will still be there to take care of my dog.My wife took him to adress his skin allergies that Dr Krauter has been dealing with for years.I didn't realize there was a new vet in his place.I was shocked to see the bill was more then twice as much as any one visit before that.Needless to say we're looking for a new vet.

I absolutely loved Dr. J so much. He was truly Amazing and the best of the best. Unfortunately the new staff disappointed me. They don’t even return my urgent calls and it’s been many times where I’ve tried to reach them to try an come in for my dog. I hate to tarnish Dr J’s place. But I unfortunately this new staff is just something else. I have to find a new place that cares about me and my dog as much as Dr J. did. (He’d answer my calls at 2am if he wanted!) thank you Dr. J for all that you did for my dog. We wish you were still here with us.

When I made the appt for my cat I asked if they took care credit and they said yes. So when it was done they swipe my card and say they don't take care credit. Not to mention I waited over 1 hr past my appt time. The WORST PART IS THE DOCTOR LIED AND SAID SHE WOULD CALL IN PAIN MEDICATION FOR MY CAT AND NEVER DID. SO THEY LEFT MY CAT IN PAIN AND DIDN'T OPEN UNTIL FOLLOWING WEEK. NEVER WOULD I GO TO THIS UNORGANIZED PLACE AGAIN.

R.I.P Dr. Jaime Krauter. For over 30 years you took care of all my various kitties. There will never be another Vet like you.

An ‘ole country vet in the middle of Hackensack. Warm office staff, excellent treatment for my dog by the doctor. Have tried many vets in the area; by far, THE BEST.

Doctor is the best, he really cares for his patients.

Although I could not get an appointment with my new puppy, I have used Dr Krauter for many of my other pets. He is a FANTASTIC vet who really CARES about the animals. Unfortunately he is no longer taking new patients.

A vet that doesn’t have a computer. Told us they will follow up and they never did.

I almost made a HUGE mistake by bringing my kitten to another vet. ... Dr J and his staff are amazing and I couldn't imagine taking my kitten anywhere else. My old vet retired and I have been stressing over finding a new one. THANK GOD I found Dr J.

The staff is wonderful, they treat my cat Tigger as if he was a human baby. Dr J is one of the most caring vets I have ever used and I will continue with him . I give this business 5 stars

Love love love dr Jamie and his staff! Dr Jamie haven taking care of all my animals for years from the time my dogs n cat was little puppies and kittens to old adults. He leads in the right direction with your animal health all the time. Just the best hands down!!

Dr Jamie took care of my dog for 12 years and helped her cross the rainbow bridge. He is awesome.

The building is nothing to look at but the doc was great with my dog and curied him first shot after another vet failed. Nothing but great things to say about Hackensack Animal Hospital. The best part is that he's doesn't kill you with the fees. The last check up I felt like I was stealing from him he charged me so little compared to what I was used to. I seems he truly cares for the animals, he can't be in it for the money for what he charges....

Dr. Krauter is awesome! I moved to Teaneck and did not know where to go for my baby Carly (Cat). I read the great reviews and now I am one of them. He really cares about our fur babies. He is straightforward, very knowledgeable and does not want to take you for your money (unlike unfortunately some others I have been to in the past). They really care. The entire staff is so friendly and go above and beyond. Cheryl is one of the sweetest people ever. Thank you, Hackensack Animal Hospital! I would say this office charge very reasonable. As a animal lover you would want to take care of their health but also consider about your pockets. Dr. J is a thorough doctor and very careful, with patience. I feel the amount I pay here is less than the care my cat get. Thank Dr. J saved my baby’s life

The doc and his staff have been taking care of our cats over the past decade. It's a small place with a huge heart. They genuinely care about each pet as if they were their own! They also help rescue cats and have many up for adoption if you're looking.

Dr. K is one of the best vets out there. Helped us so much with our furry one.

Dr. Jamie has been our vet for decades! My whole family uses him. We love him and his staff. They are all truly caring and I would never go anywhere else unless I absolutely had to.

We took our Jack Russell, Violet, to this veterinarian on an emergency basis. Our dog broke out in hives all over her body. Her face was so swollen she looked like a basset hound. When I called I received a recording giving the office hours. We took the dog there straight away. The vet assessed the situation and had us come right in. He gave Violet a full exam and determined that she was having an allergic reaction to something. He gave her a shot to get rid of the swelling and itching and pills for the next few days. He and his staff are professional, caring and knowledgable people. His prices are absolutely reasonable. Violet fully recovered. We've found our pet's family doctor. Thanks Dr. J!

Unfortunately, places like this are..literally, a "dying breed". I love this place because it's small. It's almost intimate. There is no question that Dr Krauzer truly cares about his patients. Sadly, he doesn't do surgery anymore, but will gladly refer to a competent veterinary surgeon. This place is just a good, old fashioned vet. In Bergen county it seems there's an assumption that everyone is rich and willing to spend any amount of money for their pet. It's clear that this is NOT the case with Hackensack​ Animal hospital. While I am willing to pay whatever the cost for my pets, I'm very happy to have found a place that doesn't assume I am made of money.
