This place has very qualified personnel, but every time I need an appointment for a sick animal (who is their patient), they sent me to emergency "because they are fully booked for a week". It would be nice to have a few emergency slots for registered patients. Finally, I changed the vet.

I always take my yorkie here for her shots and care.. I called to get my yorkie in same day but unfortunately this place was booked and I had to find another vet which I regret going to.. Riverdale vet has always cared for my yorkie and they are not money hungry. The vet doctor took her time to explain to me of my yorkies condition. If you want good quality care for your pet, this is definitely the place to go.

We took our 22 year-old cat here for what we suspected was end of life treatment, and the staff was so compassionate. They gave us options, and time to discuss, and when we had made our decision, time to say good-bye. We could not have asked for a better experience at this very difficult time.

I was recommending this facility to a friend since they needed a good vet for their older pet.

My dog was scheduled for a surgery and the day before they said they had to move it a week later. No apology, just coldly let my pet suffer

This is an email sent to the practice on 11/5/21. Three days later I received a response saying the owner of the practice was going to reach out to me. As of yet I have had no contact from them. “ Good Afternoon, I have been wanting to bring this situation to your attention for some time, but I wanted to gather my thoughts. I have two fur babies that have been patients at your practice for their entire lives. I've never once had a major complaint or any kind of problem with the practice. That is until recently. On 10/9 my dog presented with shortness of breath and we took her to the animal hospital. On that date she was diagnosed with with secondary lung cancer. We were given steroids and advised to follow up with her regular veterinarian. I called your office on Monday 10/11 asking to see either Dr. Tucker or another physician who would be available to see us. I was abruptly and rudely told that there was nothing available until the next Monday 10/18. I explained that my dog was just diagnosed with cancer and I needed some help, and again this gentleman very rudely just repeated himself that there was nothing available that week. On Tuesday 10/12 I called made an appt for Monday 10/18. I asked for a Dr. to call me because I had questions concerning my dog's quality of life due to her diagnosis. I had never had a terminally ill animal before. I was scared and felt completely helpless and was hoping to get some guidance. I did not receive a call. I called again on Wednesday. No return call. I called again on Thursday and again no return call. As fate would have it Cecelia's health deteriorated and we had to euthanize her on Saturday 10/16. My dog was a patient in your practice for all 14 years of her life, and my cat is currently still a patient. We have spent cumulatively thousands of dollars over the last 14 years, but aside from that I've always had the utmost confidence in this practice. I needed guidance as to how to adequately gauge her quality of life along with several other end of life and hospice care questions from her physician but instead I ended up turning to google which is in no way a substitution for medical guidance. Perhaps it's just my grief making me lash out in a way that is not typical of me, but please in the future do better if someone calls you with questions about their terminally ill baby.”

Great service and hours, open late. Doctors are very friendly to both pets and their humans.

We made an appointment because our female dog was bleeding vaginally and it was not her heat. I arrived early because I work a few blocks away. Reception seemed annoyed that I was so early. Since my name is not in my dog's file but my boyfriend's is, I was given the impression that they really didn't want to deal with me. Non verbal communication and body language says a lot. My dog received antibiotics and blood work. We were told that we would receive a phone call the following day with the results. My boyfriend must have called four times, each time with the same response : the doctor will call you, we are here until 8:30. Fast forward to 8:30 p.m., we received no phone call, no follow up on our girl's test results. We have been frequenting this vet with both of our dogs for about four years, and I must say that this was highly unprofessional. I think we should have at least been given the courtesy to receive an answer regarding our dog's condition. Needless to say, vet bills are not cheap, and we will take our business elsewhere.

I previously gave these people a 4-star review because I felt they were very informative when my dog was a puppy but after a little over a year with them, I have to change my review. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone I know and here's why: 1. You make an appointment for a set time and they will make you wait no matter what. I've waited up to 30 minutes AFTER my appointment time to be seen. One time I ended up just leaving and rescheduling for a day I had time to waste. 2. They ALWAYS put you on hold when you call. I once waited on hold for 15 minutes and then ended up hanging up because I was sure I was forgotten. The front desk people are not good. You either get someone who is rude or dismissive. 3. They don't make you a priority even if they are your designated vet. When my dog was a puppy, she had a limp and I asked if they could squeeze her in to be seen. Nope, they gave me a date two weeks out... okay ill just leave my dog in pain for 2 weeks, thanks. 4. Way too expensive for the quality of work you receive. 5. They still don't let you in the room with your dog... I have no idea what they do to her back there but every time I take my dog here, she begins trembling as soon as I get to the door. ****UPDATE*** Very good. Doctor was insightful and answered all my questions. A bit pricey but its worth it. They also offer boarding for your dog which is nice.

This clinic lives in the past. No call waiting, no online access to any of the patient’s info, no system to follow up on their patients. Ridiculous mark up on medications and almost impossible to get them to agree to fill prescription elsewhere. Substandard operation altogether. Too bad Elon Musk doesn’t do vet clinics to put all these crooks out of business.

I was honestly recommended here by a friend. At first I was a bit skeptical because I have my own veterinary offices already but wanted a second opinion. I decided to come and check out the office JUST because of my friends recommendation. Prior to the appointment I checked Google reviews and some where good and some where bad like any other place. So I came in to check in the spot myself and honestly I was so disappointed. The front desk is beyond rude and the doctor, she was not listening to my concerns and was disagreeing to almost everything I do for my dog. She made me feel beyond uncomfortable and made me feel as if what I do for my dog is incorrect.I honestly do not recommend this spot especially if you are really a dog lover. It will really get you so upset. Unfortunately my visit was not as good as my friends. Also the doctor was not being understanding and was trying to charge me over $750 when I came in for a second opinion and for a consultation. The front desk was very pushy about me doing what the doctor said and paying the money. When I tried to leave she told me that I had to go tell the doctor but I was not allowed to cross to the back. She refused to go inform the doctor. I ended up paying just for the consultation and making an appointment to his clinic. I was definitely not pleased. Ofcourse everyones expierence can be different but I do not recommend.

They've provided care for my mom's cat for many years. I do wish you were allowed to go inside when they are examining your pet but since they redesigned the space and COVID it isn't allowed anymore.

Have had our little Dino (Persian Himalayan) here since his first shots, rabies and vaccines as well as his neuter- the staff is great, the doctors are amazing and Dino does not get scared or skittish after visiting.

I've been to the clinic twice with both of my cats and I will only keep going back because of Dr. Chang (available on Sundays and Mondays). Dr. Chang established a very good patient-doctor connection, thank you. I'm giving 4 stars because the first time I went to the clinic I had a bad experience.

My wife and I have used Riverdale Veterinary Group since March 2000, first for a female mixed breed and since June 2013 for our Shiba Inu. Doctor Derek Fried has been the primary care provider, but at times we have also used other doctors on staff. Both the doctors and support staff have provided excellent care and have been patient and attentive with both our dogs and with my wife and I. And whenever we had a question about any aspect of a bill, the issue was always quickly and satisfactorily resolved. My wife and I most highly recommend Riverdale Veterinary Group PC for the excellent care and service treatment provided there.

They are very attentive to our pet's needs. The doctors will always get back to you when you call to consult on steps to take to deal with any illnesses. Getting medication is easy as is any special diet food. It's just a matter of calling and the meds and food are prepared for you, usually by the next day. Very convenient weekday hours (until 8) and weekend hours (both Saturday and Sunday).

I took my puppy to this vet shortly after getting him to have him checked on and so he could have a vet. They administered the Distemper and Lepto Vaccine on my puppy which it turns out he had a reaction to. I took him two times after to be checked on and the first time I was told not to worry to bring him back if the crying persisted after 3 days. I brought him in 3 days later, lethargic, crying, and barely able to walk and they charged me almost $600 to perform X-rays and blood tests to send me back home with an ill puppy and no idea what to do! I couldn’t leave my puppy like this and took him to two other vets which actually ended up looking into his problem and getting him admitted which was a vaccine effect and getting another costly bill for 2200. I called back and asked for my money back and they wouldn’t even acknowledge that this was due to the vaccine. I wouldn’t trust this facility with a pet ever again. I have half a mind of suing as well

Very nice people and the first I have seen that was as clean and nice as this place. I felt so comfortable with the service. I went in feeling very nervous no knowing what was wrong with Lucii. The Doctor was extremely nice and took her time talking to me. I thank you for such good service. I would definitely recommend Riverdale Veterinary Group PC to a friend.

They took really an amazing care of my baby foxy . She's been feeling sick from an infection. Dr was on point with all the information, didn't attempt to add on anything she didn't need. Thank you! Sarah/ Stacey behind the desk are very friendly, warm , welcoming and you can hear/ tell they have empathy for pets. Once again thank you during these hard times , we love our fur babies.

I had been going to Dr. Fried for ten years with my previous dog. Now that I just got a new dog, I am back. He is the best. I wouldn’t go anywhere else. He’s worth the drive as I don’t live in Riverdale. His office space is immaculate and spacious and he is thorough and caring, along with his staff. I feel very comfortable with him and answers all your questions.
