Salem Animal hospital is my favorite. They are the bees knees! The cats meoowww! They took such good care of my meow meows! They even took cute pictures of his first vet visit!! And kept me updated on everything the entire time! I wouldn't bring my pets anywhere else! Thanks again! ♥️

I requested an appointment for my cat on their website, did not hear back from them. After four days of nothing I called the office to try and set up an appointment that way and was on hold for about 20 minutes before giving up. I can’t comment on the service because no one could be bothered to actually set up an appointment with me. Will be looking elsewhere.

I wouldn't even trust this place to put my animal to sleep, they used to be great but all the good doctors have left. When you see all the talent leave an organization you should leave with your business as well. Terrible front end service, doctors that care more about upselling than helping, absolutely disgusting.

I have been here for several years for all of my fluff balls. Before Covid they were professional and friendly; at the height of Covid they operated for special circumstances when most other doors were closed…. I would expect great care from my vet, but they go beyond that. During a particular stressful time, the receptionist was knowledgeable and called me back numerous times, versus the other way around—when I had to go to an emergency after- hour appointment, they documented this and called to check in just the next day, and they spoke to me with genuine care, not just a file in a folder. They remember your pet—they remember you. Dr. Beaufort has been caring for all of my four legged family members and if I have any questions the receptionist can’t answer, the veterinarian calls you back. Highly recommend for yearly care and a veterinarian that will answer your questions.

Wondering why at this period in time of Covid. That I cannot go into the animal hospital but we all can go into a human hospital and just about anywhere else?? I understood it when Covid initiated but now after many vaccines we still have to wait in our cars? And pay by phone?

Dr Wilson is great! The staff is friendly and attentive. The Covid precautions they have goes above and beyond, they are doing a wonderful job.

They need a management change. COVID has been going on for a year, so we all understanding dropping off our pets at the door, but to still only have 1 phone line is absurd. I sat in the parking lot for 20 minutes passed my appointment time this morning, calling countless times. Then finally when they answer they have the audacity to tell me I’m late 15 minutes late. Then to pick my dog up, i call because it’s 2 hours passed when they said she’d be ready. They said they’ve been calling for an hour and a half. I asked what number, turns out they had the wrong number. Not sure how that’s possible when they call that number regularly for appointments and such. They also didn’t call the second number we had on file. So my dog sat there in a crate for 2 hours because they weren’t calling the 2 numbers they have on file, and supposedly misread the hand written note with our number.. We haven’t really had any complaints, besides that they continue to tell us we shouldn’t feed raw and we should be feeding one of the brands they sell in the lobby - but today’s experience was enough that we’re looking elsewhere for her future vet and hair needs.

Salem Animal Hospital cared for my previous dog and helped her survive for 17 years. My new puppy is now a customer. Top notch care and devotion is found here.

The best vet in the area. They take great care of both of my dogs and are reasonably priced despite some of the reviews on here. I am very thankful they were accepting new patients at the time.

I have been going to Salem Animal Hospital for over 20 years. The staff is amazing, all of the veterinarians are amazing, especially Dr. Caruso who has primarily taken care of my dogs, is the best!

Mis diagnosed my pet 3 times, charged me near $1000 all told and I still had to pay the vet that actually properly diagnosed and treated my dog. All the good vets here have left for other offices, I do not feel safe bringing my pets in for care at this facility any more.

Everyone here is wonderful. Prices always feel high, but maybe that's just veterinary services in general.

My cats and myself have enjoyed Salem Animal hospital for several years now with no complaint! They are always so kind, and willing to explain things in great detail. The establishment is clean and professional and my animals are always well taken care of!

If I could give zero stars I would. I brought my cat to this hospital after he started throwing up and having diarrhea. The vet did some tests and found that he had pancreatitis. The tests totaled to about $1,000. Although this was pricy, this is not the part I’m unhappy about, its the part that comes after. All they did was give my cat some medicine and probiotic powder to stop the diarrhea and vomiting. But after two weeks it didn’t stop. I called them back and they said to stick with the plan they gave us. My mom and I were desperate seeing my cat suffer. Luckily my mom found a woman they referred her to a pet store in Andover MA called Dawg City. There, the owner named Jayne Malenfant and her daughter (who both have years of experience with animals ) told us that we should change my cats diet to wet food and give him a different type of probiotic for the diarrhea and milk thistle for the pancreatitis. Very soon my cat got better and is doing great today, as if he never got sick. But it’s no thanks to this hospital. I’m certain that my cat would’ve died from his condition if my mom had not found this woman. I am very disappointed about how this hospital handled my cat situation, and I would never recommend this hospital to anyone. The ladies at Dawg City can help your pet much more effectively with just a list of symptoms. It really disgusts me how there are doctors who go to school supposedly for the purpose of helping animals, and all they do is prolong their suffering to make big money. If you find yourself in a similar situation that I was I highly recommend that you check out Dawg City in Andover, their website and Facebook page. The employees of the store I actually care about animals, they are professional, and have many years of experience. The food and medicine that you may need for your pet is very likely to be found in their store as well.
