If I could rate a zero, I would. Banfield has been nothing but a problem! I have a cat who is 17 months old and has been battling an ‘ear infection’ since he was 2 months old. After going to banfield and being continuously put on medicine, COVID got worse and the hospitals were closed and my cat couldn’t be seen. His ear continued to get worse and when I was finally able to get him an appointment, it was at a different office because my normal office had closed. Fine. However, after 3 months of going back and forth, 3 ear swabs, 2 different ear cleaners, 2 types of ear medication and 7 visits to the office, we were getting no where. His ear was actually getting worse. The swelling was increasing and the debris was getting more constant. The last time I took him to banfield for an injectable antibiotic, the tech told me she didn’t think it was an infection because she couldn’t even see in his ear. After months of trying, I was finally able to be seen at a new vet. I was in and out within 1.5 hours. My cat was seen, diagnosed, given laughing gas, had a procedure to remove an EAR POLYP visible to the naked eye, reverse laughing gas and given pain meds for the amount it cost for 1 ear swab with Banfield. My cat’s whole ear canal was swollen as well as pressure on his eye nerve, forcing his eye closed. After switching my vet, I will deter anyone and everyone I can from choosing Banfield. Worst mistake of my life. I have tried to contact many times to talk to someone, however have not gotten a response to any of my emails nor can I get through on the phone as there aren’t enough employees. I chatted with someone on the website who told me it was going to cost me $300 to cancel my plan. That would be $1000 in roughly a 3 months time span. If this review does anything, I hope it makes someone think twice about signing up for the wellness plan! It’s sounds great in the beginning, especially when money is tight, however, I have spent more money on this plan in the past 17 months than I would have if I had just gone to a regular vet.

This particular location is absolutely horrible. The staff wants nothing to do with helping you. My dogs face is swollen and he cannot be seen until at least January. Are you kidding me? The staff is not helpful at all. Why do we pay for a vet that cannot see our pets when needed. I called the Woburn location and the nice gentlemen at least was very sympathetic to my troubles. He also sent out messages to all the Banfield mails within the area to try to get me an appointment. Sorry but looks like your gonna be loosing a customer of 11 years. I understand that everything business is short handed and overwhelmed. Seriously the amount of money I pay a month and there’s no type of emergency visits?? I wouldn’t even give it one star if I didn’t have to.

I like this hospital but to be honest...it's better than others. I have the pet insurance so price I can't complain.

I've had one of their monthly plans for over a yr only to call for a check up and be told my pup is behind on 3 shots. I wasn't given any call to setup an appointment for those I had to basically find out on my own. When we finally got it she was actually behind on FIVE vaccines. I was given "lack of staffing" for a reason but offered nothing for inconvenience. What wld they have done if I got fined or worse my pup taken for neglect? Nothing I'm sure.

Made an appointment online to get my cat checked out for an eye issue. Drove half an hour to this location and when I got there they informed me that they don’t have the capability of taking new patients and had “left me a message” cancelling my appointment..? Not only did I not get this message but I got 2 confirmation emails! Just kind of strange how you can go through the entire online booking process, all while registering as a new patient? They they also didn’t even offer somewhere else for me to bring my cat, I had to ask specifically where I could bring him to get checked out. The recommendation they gave me was salem animal hospital, I called three times and no one picked up. Overall just an awful experience.

Banfield overbooks, most appointments are drop offs so you rarely see the vet, when you ask for an in room appointment it is easily a two month wait and they act like you are inconveniencing them. After Dr. Chase left it seems that the place is all about how many animals they can process through in one day, then about the care and compassion of the animal. Do not recommend them. There are other vets in the area, go elsewhere.

They call themselves a hospital yet when you need emergency vet care (even when they’re your vet) they say they can’t fit you in because they’re totally booked! Kelly at the front desk was very rude and acted like she couldn’t care less that my dog was in pain. This review is for the Salem, NH location. I won’t be going back! There’s at least 5 vet clinics within a few miles of this location, better off going somewhere else.

Banfield Salem almost killed my dog. We called them for assistance and there response was wait and see how he is tomorrow. The next day 30min to closing he took a turn for the worse and they would not help or see him because they were closing. We took him somewhere else and if we did not he could of died. Now he has a ear issue and they can’t see him till next week. Seriously?

Had a year plan with them. Dr Bibeau was great, but the last vet we had in there claimed that my dog had a history of aggressive behavior and muzzled her and was very rough with her. At the end of my policy when asked if I wanted to renew I said no. They did it anyway and now say I have a balanced $400 delinquent.

I've taken my dog (pomeranian) a few times there. I called Saturday October 20, 2018, bc my dog has an ongoing rash that they've checked before and when I anxiously called, the person said no to me that they were full. Do these people even have an idea how I'm feeling. My dog could die and they can care less!!!!! They should be more sensitive toward their patients!!!
