If you're looking for a low stress, friendly & lots of smiles kind of atmosphere where the staff is truly very caring towards all the animals in the shelter, then go to the Lowell Humane Society [LHS] and get your next rescue! The staff goes out of their way to ensure that the health & well being of all animals in their care is upper most in their minds. There are lots of furbaby pictures on the LHS website, but please go down [need to make appt because of Covid] & look at cuties that are there. They will steal your heart & fill it with love!!!

I didnt end up adopting my guinea pig from here since the guinea pig I was looking to adopt had already been adopted, however, the customer service was amazing. I was emailing with one of the staff and they were so friendly and answered all the questions I had. If I am ever looking to adopt another guinea pig in the future, I will definitely adopt them from here.

I adopted 2 guinea pigs (oreo and darla) from lhs. The building is clean and organized. Staff was was helpful and nice. (the pigs are adorable and super cuddly.)

A very clean shelter with incredibly compassionate and professional staff that genuinely care for the animals and are attentive to their needs. The busy staff deserve tremendous thanks for all their hard work. We unfortunately had to surrender our two cats to LHS, at a very difficult time for our family. The staff did everything they could to ease the process for the cats and for us. They answered all our questions and went above and beyond in reviewing all the information we provided to them and learning how to take care of the cats. We are so incredibly grateful for their efforts.

I adopted a bird from there today. I am from NY so did a lot of talking on phone first. Drove there today, people SO nice and clearly care so much about the animals. I was so impressed by the kindness shown both toward me and the bird. Wish I lived closer so that I could volunteer there. What a great place!!! Thank you so much to all the staff. Love my new family member! ????

I adopted 2 Guinea pigs here a week ago Winnie and Pancake. Everything was wonderful, I got to hang out with them by myself for a few minutes and give them some veggies, overall the whole process was smooth and easy, and everyone was incredibly kind!

These people judge. You want to adopt a cat, dog? Be prepared to get judged. They automatically judge you and run your application or whatever then say they won’t give you the cat because you don’t look responsible or they think you aren’t a good fit. Animal shelters are supposed to help find homes for animals, not judge whoever walks in. If you want to adopt an animal and don’t wanna be judged for it, don’t bother coming here. Unless you get on their good side and think they’ll like you, and won’t stare at you up and down. I get you have to be strict so the animals go to good homes but I had about zero reasons for them not to give me the animal.

I recommend this facility to anyone looking to adopt, surrender, donate or volunteer.

Adopted 2 cockatiels from them! They are wonderful! The staff gave us a perch that the two birds had been using, as well as certificates for free first exams at Littleton Animal Hospital.

I love how they play classical music in the cat room. It's very clean, all of the animals are very well attended to. We adopted the most amazing cat from there, I couldn't be any happier. I highly recommend going there to find a furry friend.

We adopted our Mamacita from the Lowell Humane Society. They were very clear as to her special needs and her recent medical history. The adoption process went very smoothly, we couldn't have asked for better service.

I was bring a beautiful puppy from Boston Animal Care and Control to Lowell MSCPA. The folks were welcoming and caring. It was great to see such a professional crew.
