Great with dogs. And only place I take my dog.

They only take cash but I’m totally fine with that because they keep it simple! They charge prices based on how much work goes into each dog so I don’t feel like I’m over paying since my dog requires only a simple bath & nail trim. Also, they didn’t ask me to track down my dogs whole medical history like some groomers do.

I’m in town for a bit with my two dogs who both needed to get groomed and nails trimmed. I went to schedule at a local nearby chain place, but after standing for 10 minutes outside the groom window where it was obvious that someone had been grooming a dog, I decided I wanted my dogs at a place where there would be enough staff to actually manage the space. Giving up, I decided to give Painted Desert a shot. I was able to get in first thing the next day, so that was lucky. In the morning I was met with a cheerful and ready crew of groomers. The energy is really good there and both my guys seemed stress free, no shaking or barking, which I was worried about. I think it took about 4 hours, for both dogs. When I returned they were happy to see me, and cute as all get out. Absolutely wonderful! I’m delighted with their grooms and will definitely go back. Shop local!

Simply, the best. We love our groomer Pauline, she gives our "rock star" a show quality cut, each and every time. She is kind and caring, always greets us on drop off and inquires to any new updates. My Chinese Crested is definitely sweet on her! So happy to have found this place.

Excellent all the way around

This was my favorite place for grooming over 10 years...but in the last 2 yrs the service went downhill and I will never return...I have a rescue that suffers from anxiety and panic attacks so I always ask for a early appt or a slow day so she can go in and out....the last three appts they disregarded my wishes and kept my dog for 4 to 6 hours...I kept going due to loyalty and it being familiar to my dog...this most recent appt was the last straw I dropped off my dog Cali at the same time I dropped off my daughter at school I called at noon and was told she would take another 45 min...45 min came and went so I drove to the groomer and watched from my car as my dog was barely getting her hair cut...I stayed in my car and waited because I knew if I went inside it would make it difficult for the groomer to cut Cali's hair....at this point its past 2pm so I had to leave to pick up.my daughter from school ...my daughter was done with school before Cali was done at the groomers....I returned to the groomer and once the owner realized I was the same car that sat outside there location waiting and watching...the first thing the owner said to me was they had a lot of lil white dogs as if I wouldn't recognize my own dog....I didn't rise my voice of have any tone I simply asked why this is now the 3rd time within the last 12 months they do this and how I dont want my dog locked up all day waiting to be attended due to her anxiety...the groomer became defensive and suggested that I her owner may be the reason for her anxiety which was a slap in the face...they were not apologetic at all and the grooming looked rushed and uneven after all that....the icing on the cake was Cali was dying of thirst she devoured 8oz of water as soon as I got her in the car....I dont like speaking negatively about business but this was not the first time and the level of disregard and disrespect received was completely unacceptable.

Walked in with our chihuahua who isn’t very cooperative with her nails. Ella did a fantastic job putting up with her squirming. Very patient and did a great job. Appreciate having a place so close, affordable and who loves our littles.

The grooming that our dog received at this place last week was HORRIBLE! Our poor little Lhasa Apso sat in a cage for 5 hours and didn’t receive his grooming until we called there several times. The cut that they gave him was really bad! They shaved him so short in some places that he was raw and bleeding, it was especially bad in his behind. We had to take him to the Vet the next morning because he was miserable. He now has to have ointment put in him and medicated baths every day. To top it all off, they didn’t do his tail at all. We’ve been going to this place for 7+ years and it was always great until two things happened: 1. A new owner took over the shop. 2. Our regular groomer left. It’s so obvious that they rushed our dogs grooming and he’s suffered greatly because of this. I did call the owner and she did refund our grooming and Vet costs which we appreciated but that still just didn’t make up for what our poor dog went through! It’s obvious that the owner needs to schedule her clients better because they definitely overbooked that day and that is why our dog sat in a cage for over 5 hours and then had his grooming rushed. It’s also obvious that she needs employees that take better care of the animals entrusted to their care. We will definitely not go back!

Bellow is my original post but since posting this review, the owner Mary Johnson contacted me to apologize and have my dog's nails fixed and have him washed. The lady who did my dog's grooming previously, no longer works there and this time they did an amazing job. Mary Johnson seems to care very much about her company and the dogs that go into her shop. I appreciate her making a huge effort to make this situation right and I would definitely recommend going here. They cut my dog's quick and didn't cut the rest of his nails. It doesn't look like they washed him either. They didn't bother to mention any of this when I picked him up either and just said that "HE DID GOOD" when I asked. They said it would take 30-45 minutes and I'm guessing called me an hour and twenty eight minutes later because his paw was probably bleeding still.

I have a golden. Worse job on my dog. They shaved him, he has sores behind his ears. They chopped him in the back and all over.

Excellent first time experience, we will definitely be repeat customers. The dogs were beautifully groomed. The staff are friendly and very knowledgeable and listened to our requests on how we wanted our dogs groomed, the dogs were groomed exactly as we had request.

Wonderful people, my dog loves them!

MY Dad’s Chihuahua dogs needed toe nail trimming as soon as possible. Dad’s been ill and overlooked this important grooming. I came in from CA to help out. I did not know where to turn. The dogs keep my dad going, they’re his babies. Checked Google and found Painted Desert. Saw their 5 star rating across the board (rare these days). I called and was in within 1:30 hours. Greetings were warm and happy. The dogs adjusted immediately due to the warmth of the crew. They gave Dad’s babies lots of love for $5 each!!! What?? Amazing service and great value for your money. Funny thing is they are 6 blocks from home! I left a $20. Definitely 5 Star!!!

Everyone there is really nice. My 6 month old puppy had her first experience there. They were patient and she looks great. I couldn’t be more happy.

I finally found a groomer that knows how to groom a Husky without shaving him bald. Painted Desert Dog Grooming has the most talented groomer in town. My entire family brought our dogs there & they all came home professionally groomed. More importantly it was obvious that all our dogs were treated with tender loving care.

It's best to have an appointment but I have been their without one and they always try to work you in. The groomers I've worked with are nice and compassionate. Not too expensive, either.
