Last night my cat was seen for a broken leg. The staff was nothing but friendly and understanding. They took such great care of my kitten. The dr.s are FANTASTIC.

Our dog was ill and we needed to take her somewhere. Our vet was closed and told us to go to Urgent Pet Care. This was such a good decision. Our dog, unfortunately, did not make it. Dr. Mike and the staff were so very thoughtful and kind to us as we said goodbye. I have never seen such compassion and care. They treated us like family and I cannot thank them enough.

Our dog’s health was declining due to a tumor on his lung, and we knew he didn’t have a lot of time left. We thought we had at least the weekend with him, but by Sunday morning, we knew it was time to let him go. We called Urgent Pet Care West right as they were opening, and they were waiting for us when we arrived. Dr. Emily Buhr assured us that we were making the right decision, and was very compassionate during one of the most difficult moments of my life. The price was very reasonable considering the hours and services they offer. I am so thankful we had the option of a place like Urgent Pet Care West. Because of them, our sweet boy didn’t have to suffer another day waiting on normal business hours.

This was our first time to ever visit a Pet Urgent Care. We are so grateful for Urgent Pet Care West's kind, caring and professional staff. We needed emergency treatment for our small dog Apollo as he ripped out a toenail while running outside. We couldn't stop the bleeding on our own and he was losing a lot of blood as well as in a lot of pain. We called ahead and the staff was ready and waiting for us when we arrived. Although Apollo is somewhat of a high-anxiety dog, the Vet Tech and Dr. were so gentle and kind that Apollo easily cooperated with the treatment. Their professionalism also gave us reassurance that everything was going to be okay. We so appreciated the care we received and feel very blessed that they were there when we needed them.

They saved Tiki's life after 2 dogs attacked us. I'm forever indebted to these people. Thank you so much.

We've used this location 2-3 times for our dog. This time, I was really grateful they were available when our 8 year old cockapoo developed a sudden issue. I was appreciative for the urgent care they were able to provide.

They were more than professional, very sweet, and so quick to recognize us as an emergency that they MADE room for us on one of the saddest days I’ve had in a long time, if ever. I know they were busy, but we felt like a priority, which meant the world since my cat is/was my priority. Thank you for being there.

Our regular vet couldn't get us in for over a week and our 14 year old cat, Pumpkin was not doing well at all. It turned out to be kidney failure and the staff here was thorough, honest and empathetic. We didn't think he'd make it but Urgent Pet Care pulled him through! We got regular texts between daily calls with updated blood work. Special kudos to Dr. Kelleher. Her compassionate, practical and hopeful assessments reassured us that we were making the right decisions. The staff even made space for us to visit him several times over the week. Thank you!

I had hoped never to have to use a facility like this, but at 6 pm on a Saturday, this is where we wound up. I'm not an overly anxious pet owner, and I wasn't sure if our situation was a true "emergency," but I thought it better to find out at 6 pm rather than 2 am. Urgent care isn't cheap, but neither was it so exhorbitant that I was sorry I came. My pup got great care, the staff was knowledgeable and friendly, and they were kind to us -- never making me feel stupid for not knowing if this truly was or wasn't an emergency. I could see other folks who had come with evident emergencies, some that had sad outcomes, and the staff never seemed to rush anyone and they were very compassionate. We came away with copious amounts of drugs to rectify our situation, and our pup should be on the mend shortly. Thank you, everyone!

This was the second time we have used Urgent Pet Care for two very different situations. The first time I called them in sheer panic when we came home to our beloved dog passed away and I had no idea what to do. They were so patient, calm, kind, and loving to our family in that situation! This last time that we used them was this past weekend. Our puppy aspirated on his vomit and passed out and quit breathing. We were able to keep him alive by administering CPR on our way. The staff at Urgent Pet Care was immediately helpful on the spot and helped save our puppy! They called me very frequently to help us make the best informed decisions and gave updates on our puppy. They even sent me a photo of him in the middle of the night to assure me that our boy was going to be ok! Now that is going above and beyond! These people are angels on earth! You would never know the amount of stress they are under around the clock by the patience and love they use to help people when they are vulnerable and scared! I cannot truly say enough positive things about this staff. The only drawback is the pricing. Granted this is EMERGENCY care and while I know that is expensive....it is still quite shocking how quickly the bill can add up. With that said, Urgent Pet Care was very kind and caring with the way they used any and all discounts and donations to help save our one year old Frank! Thank you Urgent Pet Care you have a special place in our family's heart for what you do!

I had used urget per care for 2 occasions with my dog Kobe. Unfortunately the last one was a sad situation where my baby fur passed away. The vets and all the staff were so professional and empathetic with my loss. Thank you for hold my hand in a very sad moments.

Got us in and out quickly. They explained every test and xray and showed us. Super friendly and my little monster improved the next day with the shots they gave him.

This was my very first experience with any animal emergency. The ladies up front were wonderful! My little Bambi had to get surgery and stay overnight. They kept me updated throughout the night, and the Veterinarian was so sweet and honestly everything was wonderful from start to end.

Even under the best of circumstances it is difficult and stressful to find emergency care for a beloved pet. When your pet is a 19 year-old Cockatiel, that adds a whole other level of complexity. During the scheduling and intake process the staff was helpful and responsive to all my questions. Upon arrival we met Dr. Emily Buhr. She was gentle and compassionate as she examined my tiny frightened bird, which immediately put both of us at ease. Her diagnosis and proposed treatment were thoroughly explained and expertly implemented. I would highly recommend this facility!

Our mini Goldendoodle, unfortunately, suffers from seizures which normally last approximately 3-5 minutes. This morning was different as Harry could not pull out of the seizure and we rushed him to Pet Urgent Care. All of the staff were truly amazing, with their kindness and words of comfort. After a Valium shot didn’t break the seizure cycle Harry needed to be placed under anesthesia for 30 minutes in hopes to break it, which worked. We have been updated with kind and informative texts and calls from the Dr. I cannot thank all whom work at Urgent Care enough for their diligent work to help our precious little ones. Dr Emily B’s compassion and faith for her work truly shines through. THANK YOU

This is our second visit there---they do a great job of taking care of my dog---very caring and friendly and very good at what they do!

Brought my 9 yr old Labrador Retriever in with some mysterious pain symptoms. We live in the Des Moines area, in town visiting my adult daughter. Doctor Yonker was extremely helpful, gave us pain meds to manage her discomfort until we were able to see our local vet. The entire staff was extremely friendly and got us in and out quickly. They took good care of my baby girl..

Our girl Pepper, helped herself to a snack in the trash. Was very lethargic, couldn't stand on her own. Our Vet recommended we take her to an urgent care facility, in case x-rays were needed. She was attended to immediately by a competent, caring and a professional staff from the lady who checked us in, the tech and the vet. Hopefully, we will never need urgent care again, but if we do or know of someone who does, we will recommend Urgent Pet Care West.

The staff was incredibly attentive to my sick dog and stayed in contact with me throughout her emergency stay. I would highly recommend!

We have a 17 year old cat, Emily, who was attacked by our younger male cat and she developed an infection at the site. We took her to a local vet in Council Bluffs where she was given the wrong treatment and continued to decline. We transported her to Urgent Pet Care where Dr. Starks who really knows her profession saved our old girls life. She had lost 2 pounds in a few days. The team put her on intravenous fluids overnight and provided antibiotics and a transdermal cream to make her eat. She was almost back to normal in 48 hours. The team sent texts multiple times to see how she was so the after care was extraordinary as well. Trust me. Urgent Pet Care will be taking care of both our cats in the future. They are the best. Forget the rest!! Cost a little more but if you love your pet...

Unfortunately our 13 year old beloved Yellow Lab took a horrible turn for the worse this weekend. The doctor and techs were unbelievably incredible. I can not say thank you enough for all you did to aid the passing with our family and Sarah. We will be finding out if you do regular Vet care and switching to you if you do. Thank you again from all of us.

I personally can't say enough good things about Dr. Mike and the staff at Urgent Pet Care West. I brought my almost three year old black lab in and Dr. Mike went above and beyond working well into the night to take care of him. Since leaving, my dog has made immense progress in just one day. Highly recommend bringing your pet here!

Doctor was very good. Felt very comfortable with her approach. Staff were wonderful, you can tell they love animals. They gave my dog a lot of love when he was hurting.

Amazing, amazing, amazing! Staff were all very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. Took care of our friends chihuahua today. Afterwards Emily asked to pray for this little dog and her owner. I thought this was special considering all the things the owner has been through recently. Thank you ladies! I wish you could be our regular vet!!
