Val Verde Animal Hospital La Vista, Nebraska

The receptionist was very rude when we called to originally make an appointment. Red flag, but decided to try this place anyways. I was helping a man who just had a stroke take his sick cat to this vet. He is handicapped. I had to pick him up from the rehab facility, drive to his house, get his cat and get to his appointment. We hurried as quickly as we could for someone who is handicapped and can't walk quickly. We were 10 minutes late due to unforeseen circumstances and his current state. When we got there, she addressed us rudely and said that she gave our appointment to someone else. I understand that we were late, but given the circumstances It was extremely hurtful to this man. Where is the holiday spirit? I do not recommend going here if you want to be treated with respect.

Buster got really bad on the road and Val Verde Animal Hospital saw him quickly and thoroughly! He was a sick puppy. But he got some much needed vet care which found his issues and gave us what we needed to get him on the road to recovery. Thank you Val Verde Staff and Dr. Hord. Y'all were and are great!

Just talked to some lady on the phone and she was so rude. She wasn’t willing to schedule me an appointment because they were “booked out until august.” Like okay then schedule me in august? The tone this woman had was one of the rudest tones I’ve ever heard. Don’t like your job? Don’t be there.

We'd been bringing our cat here for regular checkups with no problems, until she got sick. After describing her symptoms to Dr. Hord, he listed a number of conditions he suspected she had, and gave us a few prescriptions. When they didn't work, we had more testing and an x-ray done. He continued to give input on what he thought may be wrong. While going over the x-ray, he said our cat's anatomy was "weird," didn't make sense, and he had no idea what was wrong with her. He said he would "think about it" before calling us to give us a new prescription to try. We never heard from him. It wasn't that he didn't have more ideas, it was like he suddenly didn't care anymore. We took her to a different vet who is now actually moving forward with next steps in diagnosing her. These were steps Dr. Hord had discussed with us, and could have tried, but didn't. We're left to conclude that after paying over a thousand dollars for exams, tests, prescriptions, and x-rays, Val Verde simply felt they'd gotten as much money out of us as they could, and dropped us. On top of that, Dr. Hord refused to wear a mask, even while the mask mandate was in place for Sarpy County. Even when I indicated I was uncomfortable with it, he said, "Don't worry, I'm not passing anything around," and hurriedly changed the subject. Safe to say after all this, I have very little confidence in his medical expertise.

Always very caring and attentive to our pets. We trust them for all of our animals medical needs.

Switched to Dr Hord after my dog being diagnosed with congestive heart failure over 3 years ago and me getting fed up with my other vet not taking the time to explain things well enough. Friendly staff who always remember my dog, and friendly and knowledgeable vet who always takes extra time to explain your pets health to you. Heres a pic of the big guy, with congestive heart failure, past liver issues, and past kidney issues all being appropriately treated over the past 3 years.

The staff is very polite and loves animals. Dr Hord loves his animals and very kind and patient with them

We have taken my dog Daisy to see Dr. Hord for the past 15 years. She is not a fan of going to the vet and can be quite a difficult patient. He is extremely patient and sweet to her every single time. He also addresses all of our concerns (there are many now because she is getting older) and truly goes above and beyond. You can tell he loves the animals.

Dr Hord is a great vet, have never had any issues. He always takes time to answer questions about any concerns I have about my dog's health. Seems affordable compared to other vets in the area. Staff is always friendly, clinic is always clean.

Dr Hord has been amazing. Wouldn't take my dog anywhere else.

Well partly because it seems like the are dragging out the shots purposefully but mostly and I mean MOSTLY when my Dog was getting nails trimmed and his shots. Which first time the vet did it He didn't even cry but for the the trim. The time he was freaking out and I was trying to calm him and the lady holding him scolded me (rudely) don't tell him good boy when he's acting like this.. If you know me I held back.. But I came home and called a new bet they are getting his shot records and I'm going there in Sept. I used them before I loved them it's just a little father but worth it!!

We have taken all our pets there, and my mother's pets. Dr. Horde and his team have always been attentive and professional. They provide options and Dr. Horde explains everything very well and with great detail. It is obvious that he loves what he does and cares for all animals. Thanks to the entire team for helping us and our pets through the joys and pains of owning pets!
