I like the Bird Cage. Bought our cockatiel Pepper from there 4 years ago as a birthday gift for my wife. Bring him there for grooming every 3-4 months. Like the personalized service.

I think with a fundraiser or donations to this pet store and some education on reptiles and a remodel and some new cages. I think this store could go well with the help of council bluffs community. Its an old store that's needs some donations to help this store with friendly and helpful staff. They are willing to get what a customer wants. So that means they do care about their customer

Have things that you won’t find at any of the chain stores, and their prices are more reasonable than like Pets R Us. However the smell hits you as soon as you walk in, worse than most pet stores, and employees don’t seem too knowledgeable. Also lots of dead and sick fish in the tanks. So overall I’d say if you’re looking for something different, check them out, but buy at your own risk, since health and quality of some of the animals seems questionable.

This place needs to be reported! Their reptiles are in terrible condition, fish tanks are extremely dirty! And the poor puppies they look terrified! Saddest thing I've ever seen

DO NOT BUY PUPPIES FROM HERE THEY SUPPORT PUPPY MILLS :( Bird Cage Pet Shop- 2719 E Kanesville, Blvd, Council Bluffs, Iowa "Becky Busboom. Dannebrog, Nebraska– Dog Broker with a history of violations, including using pig medications on puppies. Pam Habbinga, Habbinga Kennels. Boyden, Iowa- 148 adult breeding dogs and 68 puppies with a history of violations including cracked flooring that cannot be sufficiently cleaned. Pete and Susie Swihart, Oak Colony Kennels- Glenwood, Iowa. Currently unlicensed (as far as we can tell). However previous USDA license shows that they have a history of violations including having medication in their fridge that was expired (One was over a year and the other was two years expired) We can only speculate that these were used on the dogs. They were also written up for having old and frozen feces in the cages."

Bought a 50 count of Superworms for my beardie on Sunday, only to open the container on Wednesday a find they’re all dead. I’ve had supers last for months just sitting out like they’re supposed to, these were super poor quality and more expensive too. Will not buy bugs here again.

Friendly staff, lots of variety. Some birds look a little, shall we say, unkempt? Most animals in general seem to be in good health. Cleanliness and food/water upkeep for animals suffers a star. Pricing suffers another.

We stopped in while driving through states. My 10yr old daughter left in tears after smelling the urin soaked dog area and seeing how little room that they had to move around in. Hopefully it will be improved. Nice store otherwise.

The groomers did a horrible job on my dog cut his face left him a cage in a black out room tromitizing him even more about going to the groomers. And left before I got there and refused to give my money back. Discussing people will see them in court...

Not only is this place neglectful towards animals, but the staff is rude. Very rude. Hairless animals are kept in cold conditions & rodents that require hay or they could die, have absolutely none. Hamsters housed together in tiny cages, anyone that owns hamsters know hamsters will kill each other in time. Ferrets housed in one tiny guinea pig cage. And I’m sure those puppies all have parvo by now. Someone get this trash can shut down now. Save these animals.

Dirty, birds are on a terrible diet dogs are in tiny cages forced to walk and sit in their own excrement. I'm sure I could have found more negatives if I could stand the smell long enough.

I give this Family owned Pet Shop a 10. Why? For one important reason is it's a family owned place but also because they are good people who care about their business and always help 100% when ever they are helping a customer...

I went there with my parents and their fish were not taken care of there was a fish that was decaying in the tank there was another dead fish you can't see through the water and there was a parakeet out of the cage and there was a dead parakeet the staff also didn't answer alot of questions and the puppies are in wire bottom cages which hurt the dogs paws

I went into Bird cage for something to put our green Anole lizard..the owner sat at cash register and pointed with no intention of getting up to help us find a atrium, gave us no advice on care food or need for heat!! So after leaving and spending $59.99 on the one item..we went to Pet Smart where they were way more help & had the very same atrium for $29.99!!! What a rip off..ugh

Have been going her since I was a kid. They have adorable puppies and this is where I got my chinchilla from! They also have a huge selection of other animals.

I’ve never been so sick in my life. All the puppies looked so unhealthy and lonely. One looked as if it couldn’t even move. Prices were overrated and the place smelled horrible!

How is this place still open? 1,000 puppies that are standing in wire cages with nothing underneath their paws?

We love birds, we bought a cockatiel from here and we go here for all his needs. They have mice, rats, chameleon. puppies, goldfish, and many other types of fishes, parakeets, cockatiels, etc. Although everytime you go, prices go up which is a disappointment
