We have nothing but good things to say about Pet Emergency Trauma services. Our Ella unfortunately passed away on our way to the PETs, but they provided us support and direction when we needed it. They listened to our story with great sympathy, gave us a room to be alone with our dog for however long we needed, and gave us the space to grieve. They treated our Ella with respect and care, even grabbing a blanket to place under her when we indicated that we wanted to take her blanket home with us when we left. They also explained the cremation and other options well. Even though our situation was tragic and heartbreaking, they made it as comfortable as possible.

Would not recommend this place in the slightest. I took my cat here as he was peeing blood and in a lot of pain. They told me they were going to run a lot of tests and get him some medication and I thought that would help. I proceeded to wait for 4.5 hours with no communication. They charged me $500 and all that I got was them telling me to see my regular vet in the morning. My regular vet (Wellhaven) actually helped my cat and only charged $200. It also shows a lot that the owner only responds to positive comments.

The receptionist when I called in was very kind and asked me questions about what was happening. When we got to the hospital with our dog we were treated with respect by the staff. Dr. Swanson saw our dog and explained what might be going on. She did some tests. Then gave us the results. Dr. Swanson was kind and explained everything to us. We got antibiotics and took our dog home. A very positive experience.

Dropped by to have them induce vomiting for my cat as she ate a nerf bullet, and was very happy with the care. The process was explained, and updates were given on the situation. Staff were helpful and involved

I want to start with the positive first. The veterinarian on duty for our visit Jennifer Keithly was kind and thorough however the receptionist who answered my original call was rude, dismissive and overall one of the worst customer service spokespersons I’ve spoken to recently. Then the fellow who answered the doorbell was equally rude and disrespectful. I watched him greet another man with his little German Shepard pup and he was rough with the pup and made the pup yelp and when the pup let him know he was hurting him he back handed him in his face. I did not receive a feeling of understanding or care from the support staff. The veterinarian on the other took my concerns and made me feel heard and took care of my dog. I waited over 2 hours outside on a cold night.

I took my cat to PETS on Sunday evening after I had noticed extreme lethargy, refusal to eat or drink water, and then vomiting. I had no idea that these were all symptoms of heart failure and that she was actually having extreme respiratory failure. Every employee that I worked with was incredible. The compassion that was shown to me while I dealt with one of the hardest moments of my life was not unnoticed. I can’t thank the staff enough for everything that night. They saved Polly’s life and did everything they could to keep me informed and calm through the night. Yes, it is not cheap. But it is an emergency clinic for your pet.. you have to understand that the cost will be higher. Your pet will be in extremely capable hands and the staff will treat you with kindness and respect. It’s also worth noting that my actual bill came in below the low estimate I was given by about $200.

We were on vacation in Montana when our senior dog's cancer symptoms really started to kick in. He had stopped eating and drinking and was miserable. We knew what had to be done, but it was Memorial Day so most vets were closed. Lucky for us, we found PETS. They were very compassionate and accommodating of our needs, and helped facilitate Copper's peaceful passing. Thank you to the PETS team from the Knoll family.

April 5, 2021 my dog was diagnosed with an enlarged spleen. On the afternoon of the 6th a surgery was performed. He spent that night at PETS. The following morning I picked him up, and while it was very busy and took a while with multiple people and cars , I didn't mind and had a good visit with Dan (the vet present). I felt the service was very satisfactory and gave me confidence that all was well. Unfortunately, there were some issues which I questioned and it turned out my dog needed another surgery on short notice on Friday the 9th. Again, the dog spent the night at PETS. When I returned to pick him up on Saturday the 10th there were no other customers, no other cars, the staff person present brought my dog out and discussed some of my logical questions. However, I did request more detailed information and requested that I be able to meet with the staff veterinarian. The dog was present, I was present, the vet was in the building, I was the only person present outside, my regular clinic was closed for the weekend and it was unlikely that I would be able to meet with a professional to simply look at the dog as well as have questions answered. The "tech" (for lack of a better term) went inside to speak with the vet, returned, and basically told me the vet felt I didn't need to speak with a veterinarian. I was a little more firm and repeated my request, the tech went back inside and again returned and gave me a rationalization which basically discounted my request and the vet was unwilling to meet with me. My only alternative would have been to escalate the situation, be even more firm and possibly be perceived as intimidating. I didn't want to go there. Bottom line: I was not only disappointed that the vet would not briefly meet with me and the dog, but I was angered. The dog, now 4 days later and post an exam with the vet who did the surgery, is doing very well. But the dog care and my concern were discounted and compromised at PETS. The first visit was fine, the second visit was poor. It only takes one poor visit to earn a negative rating and a loss of trust. We are talking about the life of the patient here. I did not get the name of the vet on duty. Perhaps this was a mistake, but that vet represents the clinic. No doubt, if I had an emergency in the future I would go there. But I would be extremely attentive and less trusting. I give one star because I want people to pay attention.

The PETS vet techs and Dr. Dan were so kind, knowledgable, and efficient when we brought our dog in for a 2" laceration below his eye on a Saturday afternoon. The Dr. and his staff completed two layers of sutures in less than an hour. Dr. Dan is a great communicator--we knew exactly what to expect with our dog's recovery from the injury and the side effects of sedation. Can't thank them enough for taking care of our boy. Highly recommended.

Thank you Dr Dan and Brandon for your compassionate care, expertise and patience with us last night as we had to make the difficult decision to euthanize our sweet old cat. I would highly recommend P.E.T.S. We are so grateful you were there to help us through a tough time. Your service couldn't have been better.

WOW never have I experienced a more rude, Sarcastic and lack of caring individual under the circumstances of putting my best friend down. I believe it was due to me proudly displaying my Veteran Status on my vehicle that warranted this total dis regard of my best friends suffering. At a time of morning this individual took away all dignity that Sarge had. Dr. Jennifer did intervene and defused the situation.

My dog had a broken toenail, not a huge deal but he was definitely hurting. We walked in and were taken care of immediately, the woman who helped was very sweet with my dog and they fixed his toenail in just a few minutes. They did all of this without charging me anything. So glad they could help us out!

I am not 100% sure of the care that was provided in the back where my puppers actually was, however on Monday Jan 4th my pup was attacked by another dog. I rushed him to Gallatin Vet right away. He was in such critical condition that he was transported to Pets to be watched through the night. When I was called that evening to get payment, the gal who had contacted me was horrible. She wouldn't tell me any information about my pup until they had payment. When I explained that I wouldn't have the payment until midnight the next day (when they would pull the payment anyways) I was told well your dog cant be here unless we get the payment. Now keep in mind my dog wasn't there getting groomed, he was attacked and in critical condition. I explained that I understood their policy and that they weren't connected to gallatin vet but can we work something out. I offered to go down and sign whatever they needed even offered my car to them for the night so they knew I would be back, but no matter what because of the hefty deposit I had to leave 4 hours prior at Gallatin, that I didn't have the $900 right then and there. Anyways I understand that there are policies and payments needed to be made, I was not at all trying to get out of it, just needed them to take the payment a couple hours later than they normally would due to the circumstances. The lady was cold and rude and in no way should be working front of the house in that industry. Because of this experience during a horrible time for me and my puppers I will be letting gallatin vet know of my experience and steering people far far away from this company or business unless absolutely necessary, because again I am unsure of his actual care that evening just know how horrible the customer service was. 10/10 would not recommend ever.

I would like to say if you care about your pet DON'T BRING them here the staff are very rude and disrespectful our dog was hit by a car and was in tremendous pain and they released him to us with only 3 days of medication conveniently ending on a sunday when we asked them for more to get through the night and they proceeded to be blatantly disrespectful and ignore our need for medication for our dog that was in extreme pain the woman we spoke to Meredith Murtagh a vet than told us than the medication was useless and was not needed although we could see the difference in him when he was not on it (it as in medication) he would whimper and cry from the excruciating pain when not on the medication . They proceeded to charge us outrageous amounts of money for the medication the she deemed "usless". DO NOT COME HERE TAKE YOUR PET TO A PLACE WHERE THEY CARE ABOUT YOUR PET

Brought my 1 year old mini aussie in after he pulled his nail playing chuckit. It was worse than it looked when we left home. We were taken in immediately. Front staff and doctor are very very pleasant, honest and positive people. Got him cleaned up and some meds for a week er so. Thank you PETS

Best experience I have had here! I usually feel like the vets are annoyed for us even coming in half the time, do nothing, and just send me to my regular vet the next day. But haven't been here in about a year- and today the vets and front desk staff were all so helpful and cared so much! It meant the world to us as we have a very anxious, but loving bulldog mix. We were so nervous about not going in with him, but the staff were so sweet and amazing!!! It took our concerns of that away! Thank you to the staff on Jan. 3rd at 9p.m!!!!

I should have left this review a long time ago but have never gotten around it it. I brought my pet rat there, Mr. Schmeckles, last December who was having respiratory issues and needed medicine. He had experienced this a couple of times in the past and was resolved by doxycycline and baytril. My normal vet was out of town on holiday and the other vets who answered didn't have any on call doctors that could treat rats or provide a prescription and they said to bring him here. I called the clinic ahead of time stating multiple times this was a rat that i needed to have looked at and he is going to need medicine. They said they could take care of it and they have a full pharmacy for medicine. When I got there they had me pay $100 upfront and took Mr. Schmeckles to the back for a bit. The vet that confirmed he was having respiratory issue but admitted he didn't really have any experience with rats aside from the small bit he learned back in vet school. I let him know what the normal prescription would be that he's had in the past to fix the issue which was a compounded doxycycline and baytril mix. Come to find out their pharmacy did not have the ability to make that medicine; even after I was promised they had a full pharmacy over the phone and had already paid for the visit. Not wanting to give up on my Mr. Schmeckles I asked if he was willing to write me the prescription and i could use it a pharmacy that could fill it. He was completely willing to do that which made me a bit more at ease but at that point it was around 9pm. I spent a good hour or so after that trying to find a pharmacy in the area but none that were open would fill pet medicine. I posted on his twitter account about the problem and a couple of his followers who lived in Missoula said their vet was open until midnight and could fill the prescription there. I worked with Pet Emergency Trauma Services and the place in Missoula and they were able to get that sent over which was around 11:30PM around this point. His followers on twitter who let me know about picked it up and met me halfway to hand it off. Although they didn't have the pharmacy they said they had I really did appreciate them helping me get a prescription to someone who could fill it.

I am RARELY moved enough to give reviews but I really wanted to support this place and get the word out about how great they truly are! I second guessed taking my dog here late at night because of the few low star reviews. I wanted to wait to take her to the vet in the AM but luckily my partner convinced me other wise ( a decision that probably saved my dogs life ). We spent a long night at PETS and came away from it just so grateful for them. Reasonably priced, compassionate, honest and knowledgable. Would give them 10 stars if I could - thank you so much PETS!

Super helpful when I called with questions about my dog late at night. They patiently explained what her symptoms likely meant and let me know that I probably didn't need to bring her in. I'm happy to know we have a good emergency vet in the valley.

Thank god for Dr. White and crew. They took good care of my boy. Dr. White was no nonsense, caring, straight forward, respectful, and super helpful. I will be forever grateful for their help making sure my boy came back to me. (And they don't cost any more than the regular vet.)

I had the best experience today with this pet hospital. I had a, what I thought was unusual situation, with my male dog. That’s all I will say, lol, but the staff was awesome and “Dr. Dan” was awesome. I was very impressed. I think they do an amazing job there. Thank you very much. I do hope I never have to see them again, if ya know what I mean!

We thought it was cute when Finn would stick his head in ground squirrel holes. We did not realize he might eat a dead one. We called and they recommended to induce vomiting in case the squirrel ingested rodenticide. The doctor and his staff were extremely professional and helpful in answering all our questions. Finn is doing great. Hopefully we won’t be back but it’s a huge relief to have access to them for emergencies.

We’ve used PETS twice. Once for our dog’s broken femur and tonight for an allergic reaction. Both times they have been excellent! I’m so thankful to have such a great 24 hr vet in our community- thank you! IMG_6251.HEIC

Thank you so much to the whole team at PETS. Dr. Thomsen, Brandon, and Tom for taking care of my kitten and taking the time to show how cared for he was. I wouldn't have wanted anyone else to help him. Y'all were amazing.

I had a phenomenal experience with PETS despite, the very scary situation I faced with my Corgi dog. She was on the verge of dying and rushed into emergency surgery in the middle of the night with Dr. Dan Thomsen to remove three puppies one which was stuck in the birth canal. As well as being septic (severe infection), she also had a ruptured uterus. From the moment I arrived Dr. Thomsen was very honest with me about her prognosis and they were very transparent about costs. Each time they presented me with an estimate before services and did not pressure me into the decision for surgery. It was expensive but I did not expect anything less considering it was an emergency visit and my dog was in critical condition. They were very compassionate towards me and very caring when monitoring my dog the next night as well. Dr. Thomsen even called me on his personal time a few days later to check on how my dog was doing and answer any questions I had. The care was top notch from both vets that I dealt with as well as Tom who is so kind and knowledgeable. Tom assisted in my dogs surgery and was happy to answer my calls in the following nights when I had any questions or concerns. They were very willing to communicate to my usual vet (Headwaters) to make sure every need was addressed. If not for this wonderful team my dog would not of made it. I highly recommend PETS. It is a blessing to have an emergency facility that is open all night, especially with such an outstanding level of care. Thank you to the team that saved and cared for Seely you guys are amazing.

Couldn’t be more grateful for the staff at PETS. My dog had a pretty big wound on the side of his head. They took care of my boy very quickly. Trimmed the fur around the wound, gave him 6 staples, antibiotics, and anti-inflammatories. The prices were very reasonable and the staff was very helpful and compassionate.

Reading the negative reviews made me angry. I wonder what the expectation is? Having an emergency is always stressful and there aren't always definitive answers. Emergencies are stressful for staff as well. Why are people offended at the questioning? The vet has to know. They have no history about your pet. If they are less than cheery did you consider what trauma they have had during that shift? As far as cost , 125.00 is nothing if you have an emergency. It costs a lot of money to staff the place. I have used them and am grateful they are here. I thought my dog was dying and needed to be put to sleep. The vet talked to me and told me it was ok, but there was a chance with some medication she could live and to go to my regular vet in the morning. I'm thankful I got a few more years. Went there for chemical poisoning from yard weed spray. Again, grateful. Took a friend's dog there and it had parvo. It lived because of them. Once I had to wait a long time in the waiting room but the two dogs with rattle snake bites were a priority. To the person who was told they needed a trainer for their biting dog they were doing you a favor. Vets don't have to risk getting bit to treat your dog.

We took our dog Obie here for a laceration on the top of his paw. They were very professional, afffordable, and so sweet to our boy! Bill was about $200 for an exam, cleaning, staples, antibiotics, pain/anti inflammatory meds and a cone! Loved the convenience! Facility was very nice and my dog who’s normally terrified at vet offices was very comfortable!
