I went to HHP, following a tip on FB about a found kitty I thought was mine. It wasn't, sadly, but that kitty and ALL the other animals there are very well taken care of and given lots of love. Angie & her crew are amazing for what they do. It's a tiring, 24/7 job, but the rewards of giving a homeless pet a home, is so worth it. I wish more people would adopt from shelters, instead of buying pets elsewhere. Kudos to you, Angie!

So many animals to look at. Little cluttered and disorganized, but I guess that come with what they do?

11-31-21 im ameding my fist post. I did here from angie, and she made things right, thank you. She assured me none of the kittens in that litter got sick, what a relief!!! 11-21 I got a kitten one week ago and it died from Feline panleukopenia virus, very contagious. There is way to many pets there can't be healthy. I give them 2 stars only because I think they care and are doing a good service. But need to have better health practices. Oh and i text the lady down there about the kitten and let her know what had happened got no response at all, omg

I believe they have more than enough animals that they are tending to with not enough staff. I went to them with my 1 yr old female dog, I inquired about her staying there until I could bring her home to our new place, as I'm house hunting. We became homeless. I couldn't bring her to where I was temporarily going, as the owner there doesn't allow dogs. I offered to donate $100 & 2 huge bags of dog food. However, I was told that they couldn't guarantee me that my dog would still be there when I returned. It wouldn't be from euthanizing her but, because she may get adopted out. So that was not ok with me. So I didn't use their services. If they can put a halt on euthanization, why not on an adoption.

Independently funded, they struggle to care for the never ending flow of cats & dogs. They do the best they can, but the animals here struggle. Many are sick, many do not make it. They desperately need grants, funding and committed volunteers. Please help if you can

I took interest in a younger cat. I talked to multiple staff about when his neuter schedule was and they said they would hold onto him for me. I contacted for 4 days and put in all the paperwork. They still gave him up before he got neutered because money is what they're hungry for. They do not care about the well being of the animal, they just want your money so they can smoke more cigarettes around the animals. They say they support neuter/spaying but still let the cat go two days before his neuter.

I saw a posting about an older Tuxedo cat on Petfinder, and the very next day I found myself at Help for Homeless Pets. They were so friendly and let me hang out with this guy for a bit before I brought him home. He's only been here a few weeks, but it feels like my household can't remember a time when Monte (previously Pip) wasn't lounging around with us. Thank you so much for helping us complete our little family! We love our guy and we love you!

In 2007 I adopted a 3 year old female that had 3 strikes against her. They told me no children, no cats. She immediately bonded to me. Fiercely loyal to me from the moment we met. The shelter was right about her temperament. I warned the grand kids! She was dedicated to me! Last month she passed on at about 16. There is no price for the loyalty and protection she gave me. I'm probably going to adopt another one from the same place. These folks truly care!

I have had a very good experience when ever I have dealt with the shelter. I have fostered 2 cats. The first has been adopted and the 2nd is still with me...forever. She has some special issues and was unable to let her go. The shelter has been awesome anytime I have had questions or concerns. I was there to drop off a large bag of kitten food. They recently got to work to find that 17 cats had been left. Most of them kittens. It's not unusual to have animals just left at night. I would like to see people be more responsible and if you can't keep them at least do it in person, give the staff information about them and not just abandon them.

This is the worst shelter I've ever been to and also heard of others going to. They are overrun with more animals than they can care for. During the summer it was hot. Multiple friends of mine that have gotten pets from here have brought sick animals home. That they clearly knew that the cats were sick before letting them be adopted. It's awful I have screenshots and proof of these stories and pictures of my friends sick kitty. My parents though about bringing a stray kitty they had helped recover there and immediately walked out. They saw the conditions and decided the kitty they helped was better off with them and they kept him. Now he's healthy as can be and all fattened up. Point being this place either needs to be cleaned up or their animals taken and the shelter shut down.

Love, love, love this place! The director and every volunteer are so caring and committed to homeless animals, and they do amazing work placing the animals in the right homes! Please support this shelter if you can - volunteer, donate, adopt, and help spread the word, and share on social media! ????❤ it's a small shelter and they need your help to continue providing services!

I adopted two wonderful kittens from this place. We were not told upon adoption that our kittens were sick and being treated for an upper respiratory disease and getting in contact to acquire treatment from the shelter was really difficult. They said they can do the treatments but they are not getting back to us. Our kittens also came home with ringworm- we were not told and again can’t get in contact to have treatment taken care of when they said multiple times they could. Bad business.

I spoke to the ladies at the shelter. And I offered him a free air conditioner that I was not using anymore for their buildings cuz it was so hot out. They do good work here

A few months ago we adopted Bob and mindy. Bob and Mindy are two adorable loving cats. Bob had been there one for a year and Mindy for 6 months. They were very obviously well taken care of. When we got them home they have been nothing but a joy for us! I highly recommend adopting here. If you don't have a cat and you are looking to get one I also recommend finding two that get along in the kennel and adopting them both at the same time. That has made all the difference. They keep each other company, they keep each other clean, and you can see that they clearly love each other. I have seen another post that they remark on the smell. Yes when you first walk in, there is a pretty strong odor. I worked at one of the cleanest vet clinics in town and let me tell you, in the back where they keep the animals it smells the exact same way. The place is very clean, from what I was able to see, the smell with that many animals in a small space is unavoidable unfortunately.

I'm adopting a dog from there. I recommend anyone wanting to get a dog or cat check them out. They take animals that are going to be put down from country pound

I love these guys! The shelter is clean with friendly folks helping to keep sheltered furbabies healthy & well taken care of. There are many because it is a no kill shelter & even save those from "death row" at the local pound. THANK YOU Ashley & Angie for all you do, and all the volunteers too!!! Please donate, volunteer, or both!
