The week before thanksgiving'21 I had to put my jack Russell Mojo to sleep. Grand Ave. Prepared a room it even had treats for him. I held him and fed him and we said our good byes. He came and gave him his shot and bittersweet as it is he went out the way he came into this world (always trying to eat.) (The last 2 biscuits sitting near him....he fell asleep...) And we stayed there talking to him....the staff was very consoling and gave me all the time I needed to say sad goodbyes to my faithful friend of 11 1/2yrs. I can never say enough thank you's....to everyone for making it less hard to deal with a very hard situation‼️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️

Moved to Billings last year and upon many searches, found this vet to be the best. They cared for my old guy even when other clinics wouldn't. He has since passed and they were there to help. Would highly recommend and if we find ourselves with another fur child, no question we would take them here!

Dr. Honken was so great with my pup Luna. She was a little nervous being at the vet and he was very gentle with her. He’s a very personable vet and he made me feel super comfortable being able to ask any questions I needed. Honestly, the whole experience with any staff I encountered was so nice. Taylor was super great on the phone with scheduling and then also check out at the end of the appointment. I believe the vet assistants name was Misty and she was super nice and gentle with my puppy as well and really listened when I told her what was going on. I had taken my dog to one other vet in Billings before coming here and it just wasn’t the friendliest place. I am definitely sticking with Dr. Honken and his staff and I will recommend him to anyone I know.

I’ve never done a review or cared to do one. But I can’t help but brag and tell everyone how much I love Dr. Doug and his staff. I know without a doubt they care about my animals. Doug is straight forward, knowledgeable, and kind. He does this because he loves it. You can tell there is no place he’d rather be. I can’t stress it enough how much it means to have a vet that I love and feel good about.

A huge thank you to Grand Avenue Animal Hospital for taking excellent care of my dog Bailey her whole life. Sadly Bailey got sick and passed away recently. Dr. Doug took amazing care of her in her final days, but we had to make the decision that she would be happier and more comfortable on the other side. Dr. Doug and his staff were more than compassionate and caring with my family and her, and he made the process so comforting. He helped me make a hard decision much easier. Great staff! You can tell they love animals!

Super friendly, competent, & quick. Doc Dan made my furbaby's spay incision almost indecipherable. The hospital aids a local no kill shelter with their spay/neuter set up, very cool. I was very pleased all the way around!

They were great! We really like the vet and the rest of the staff was wonderful too. They let us go in with him because he gets really scared without us so that was very important to us. We will be going there from now on.

Dr. Doug Honken is an extraordinary veterinarian! He is extremely knowledgeable, kind, gentle with our animals, and a truly caring person. We feel that he goes the extra mile to help our animals, and all of his staff is wonderful. Grand Ave. Animal Hospital provides A plus service! Our dog Max gets excited to go see Dr. Doug because we believe that dogs can sense good people!

I love this place!! This Vet is Amazing takes the time to explain everything and his prices are Awesome. His front desk receptionists are angels and were totally understanding and compassionate even when I called every 10 mins worried about my girl

Dr. Honken is wonderful!! He performed surgery late at night to save our sweet Daphne 2 weeks ago. I highly recommend Grand Avenue Animal Hospital.

I would give zero stars if possible. To put this in the most polite term I can manage, Dr. Honken is a bully. Believe me, I have many more colorful terms to describe him, but I will leave it up to you to decide after reading this account of his deplorable behavior. My wife and I decided to go to another vet after an experience at Grand Avenue in which staff and customers were not wearing masks. Not only is this unsafe and shows disregard for the safety of staff and clients, it is against our governor's directive. After my wife called to request a transfer of records, Dr. Honken called her back to berate her and was verbally aggressive and abusive. He was dismissive of mask wearing and safety protocols, continued to interrupt my wife throughout the conversation, and seemed to believe that his professional status as a microbiologist supersedes the advice and recommendations of scientists and medical professionals around the world. He was completely unapologetic for the safety violations witnessed by my wife. HIs only purpose in calling seemed to be to belittle her and her concerns. This egregious behavior goes beyond unprofessional. Dr. Honken should be ashamed of himself. Needless to say, we are furious. We had already planned to take our business elsewhere. I encourage anyone reading this who values not only safety but basic human decency to do so as well.
