Not an emergency vet clinic. They seemed more concerned with going home for the day an hour before closing.

Gotta say, I’m not a huge fan of this clinic from their really inconvenient location, to their inconsistent hours and phone answering, to their ever changing protocols and requirements. They are okay if you can get a hold of them and can get an appointment. I tried calling seven times yesterday and never once got the call answered. I just needed to refill the heart worm and flea and tick medicine. Seven times throughout the day during their open hours and I did not get ahold of anyone. Then today when I finally get ahold of someone they tell me that they need me to come in to get her weight which I can’t do until Monday unless I want to drive to god knows where. I am going out of town with my dog tomorrow, which is why I tried calling yesterday (even though she’s not due for her dose for another couple of days). I am extremely dissatisfied, and I am taking my business elsewhere.

They did unnecessary teeth cleaning when I wanted teeth pulling and waited until my dog was under Anastasia to ask for more money

I have never been so upset with an animal clinic as I have been with the Clayton Animal hospital. When I first started going there, having moved from the City of St. Louis to Clayton, I was very happy. There was a male doctor who owned the practice. He was professional, reliable, and affordable. When ownership changed hands, I noticed a significant difference. There was a push to sell you food, marketing everywhere for various medicines, etc. I scheduled my Chihuahua to have a fatty tumor removed. At the same time, the new owner (female doctor) removed 2 of his teeth and in her words "forgot" to remove the second fatty tumor that had also started to grow. I tried to let that go, but it has haunted me up to this very moment. I've tried to schedule appointments, and the doctor is out. I tried to get meds and was referred to another clinic. I was then told that I had to have another examination before meds could be distributed to my Chihuahua even though he has 2 refills still available for his prescription. I have since moved to another vet, as I do not trust this location or the vet. I will say the support staff is amazing. I don't know what it's like for them under the new ownership, but I can imagine they too have seen the decline in service and have had to field complaints. Stay away. Go to FAMILY VET. They are awesome, affordable and truly care about your pet.

My dog almost lost his leg because of their lies and negligence. Funny how the truth only came out when the vet discovered I’m an ICU nurse and my husband is an attorney. 4 months of therapy, hours of taking him back and forth, crying that a perfectly fine pup we rescued was potentially going to lose his leg because of your lies and excuses. Days of stalling. When nerves could have been recovered but you don’t have EMG testing. And we could have taken him to a specialist. Please: if your dog needs orthopedic surgery: DO NOT TRUST THIS PLACE. You need heart worm and flea meds? Go for it. Just because they are in Clayton doesn’t equate to quality.

Glad to have the new doctor. We had been using their service for years, but did not like the last Vet in charge, almost moved to a different provider. Was very pleased in December to meet the new owner. So much nicer than in the past two years.

All Veterinarians that only care about charging you in full During these hard times while alot of people have been layed off due to this Pandemic don't have any empathy. we found out that when our pet injured his back foot that 99% of all the vets we called do not care about your pets, all they care about is getting paid in full at the end of seeing your pet all their money. Don't get me wrong we was letting them know that we wanted to pay them but we could not afford to pay them all at once at this time. We asked if we could make payments and was told no, payments are due in full at the end of your pets visit. They told us to apply for care credit, but what credit card is going to give you credit when you are layed off. There is a veterinarian out there that will put your animals first and we drove a long ways to get to them but I can honestly state that they care about animals more than anything else.

I rarely write reviews but was compelled to do so after visiting VCA. The entire office makes you feel welcome and comfortable trusting your furry family member with their care. Both vet techs were personable, caring, and patient. Dr. Reddy is kind, caring, and compassionate. Truly wonderful people and a pet orientated veterinarian clinic!

I appreciate Dr Fraser's attention to the details concerning my dog's health. My pooch has a growth which needed examination, diagnosis, and requires continued care. He addressed all of these issues with me, and provided for further treatment in 30-60 days. Everyone at Animal Clinic has a terrific TLC attitude toward animals.

I've depended on Dr. Fraser for many years over two dogs. He's highly competent, astute, kind and fair. He's the only vet for my dogs. Plus, he's an all-around good guy.

I have been going here for 14 years, via recommendation by my brother going there for about 10 years before that. It was not, ever, a mistake! Tremendously good vets and staff!

Called for an appointment, and was told that Dr. Fraser was no longer with the practice. Very disappointed. We’ve been going to him for 18 years. His great care was the only reason we put up with the terrible parking. Now we have absolutely no reason to go back. Neither will any of our friends.

Came here on mini emergency and Dr. Dan Fraser was able to squeeze our cat in. His evaluation was very thorough, knowledgeable, and answered our excessive amounts of questions. He was also gentle with our cat. Would have gotten 5 stars if there wasn't a crabbie pattie at the front desk.

We started with the Animal Clinic Of Clayton over 12 years ago when we moved to this area. Dr. Fraser’s care has been beyond exceptional. The staff is very kind and loving. We have now been through a few different dogs… And I wouldn’t trust anyone more than Dr. Frasier. I highly recommend the Animal Clinic Of Clayton for your pets veterinarian needs!!

The vets are very thorough and really care about your animal. The vet techs are kind, gentle, and helpful. The tech at the front desk is knowledgeable, likeable, and friendly. I'm always in and out of here pretty quickly with all my questions answered and concerns addressed.

I used to love this place and took my dog there all the time. Recently I haven't been able to get my dog into the vet at reasonable times since I do work during the day. I plan on switching to Millis because of this. If there is not point in offering hours later at night if they are never available.

The Animal Clinic of Clayton does a terrific job of caring for pets, both for regular wellness care and illness/disease management situations. They have been treating my now 15 year old cat for 11 years. Kitty is a diabetic, and the Drs. Frasier, Reddy, and now retired Feldman have worked closely with me throughout his diagnosis, management, and the periodic bouts of pancreatitis that come along with the disease. Tashonda comes to my house and gives him his shots when I travel. Great clinic!
