One of the best vets I've had for my pets. Entire staff is patient same caring. My dog LOVES going here - she runs TO the door.

Been going there for years. Take care of your pets and explain everything and even answer questions you may have so you understand everything.

Dr. Eric is awesome. He has taken care of my last 4 dogs. He never pushes me to do expensive procedures unless he has exhausted all other things. Highly recommend.

The. Best. We have great service when there in person, and even when we are not there. I had a lot of questions about our dog, and they talked me through different options on the phone for over 20 minutes. I feel we can call with any question or concern and never feel brushed off. Highly recommend.

A friend recommended STL Hills when my older dogs were experiencing back issues. There’s a night & day difference between their holistic approach versus traditional vets. I had taken 1 dog to a different vet who just prescribed Rimadyl & it took her a week to get better. The other dog was treated by STL Hills with acupuncture. He jumped out of the car when we got home & ran up the steps; an hour earlier he could barely move. STL Hills went above and beyond when that same dog fell ill at 13yo. Dr. Schaefer took Peanut home & treated him with antibiotics over a weekend. He also called in a favor & had an ultrasound technician come to the clinic after hours to diagnose Peanut. The team at STL Hills was so compassionate when Peanut passed away from cancer. My other dog developed a form of Alzheimer’s at 16yo. The herbs she was prescribed nearly cured her “sundowner’s syndrome” so she wasn’t restless at night. My pets will always be treated by the wonderful team at STL Hills

My pets have been treated here since the 90s. Couldn't imagine going anywhere else. Staff are kind and experienced. Dr. Erik and Dr. Stacey have always provided wonderful professional care, including consultation for end of life decisions. I feel fortunate to have found them.

My husband and I recently got our first dog, a golden. We wanted to make sure that our dog was in the best of hands. The vet was really helpful when we went there. The vet explains what he's doing and why. He has goldens so I trust what he says about my golden. We got our puppy spayed there and the incision looks really good! I am very impressed at how well and fast our puppy bounced back after her surgery. The staff there is very friendly and I wouldn't go anywhere else.

St. Louis Hills veterinary clinic has always been very kind to my pets. Even when they have near emergencies they are always call them and take care of the issues. Turns out my dog has a trick knee and they diagnosed it. Often my dogs dewclaws grow out too long and start curling in towards the pad of their paw and they are always willing to trim it free of charge during our visit.

Dr. Eric is excellent and very caring. Very efficient and caring staff also. Highly recommend.

Docs and staff are very friendly and professional. They don't have enough, and can't make appointments within three weeks, for an established patient. We've had to rely on an emergency vet, until we switched.

I bring 3 of my dogs to St. Louis Hills Vet Clinic and thus far I've been extremely happy with the care they have received. Dr. Schaeffer has a wonderful bedside manner and will talk to you, in great detail, about risks and benefits of anything you have concerns about without making you feel silly or stupid, even if your knowledge is limited on the subject. He seems to respect your decisions as your pet's guardian and while he will offer his medical opinion, he's clearly not pushing it on you. He is also good with my 5 year old son, which is a nice bonus. The staff is very friendly and everyone just has a good vibe when you're there. I can usually get an appointment within a week or so and they've been very accommodating with my ever changing schedule, as I usually have to switch my appointments around a few times. I recommend everyone to this practice, and my mother now takes her dog to him as well.
