Called on a Saturday right before they closed to see if they could see my pet who wasn't feeling well. The woman making the appointment said they could work my pet in on Monday at 11:30. When I showed up for the appointment they had no appointment on the books and said that there is NO WAY they would have made the appointment. They lost all of my business.

I take all 3 cats for health care. They are so nice and caring. Dr Bock is amazing as well as the other vets. They require you to stay in your car, wear a mask and they come get your pet and bring them back to ylur car.

Not sure how to spell her name but Pronounced (Ah-nead) was extremely rude. I called wanting to ask a few questions not only did she not answer them but hung up on me before I was done. She should not be answering the phone nor handling precious pets with that kind of attitude. I found a better place, you should too!

I was very upset to find out that you don’t allow pet parents in the facility for euthanasia. For goodness sake, you expect us to just drop our babies off to die on their own, so unacceptable! I realize we’re in a pandemic but require masks and only allow people in for reasons such as this. I work in healthcare and we see people all day long, take the proper precautions and have a little humanity for pets you are supposed to care for and their parents! I will never, ever return to you or suggest you to anyone. There are proper ways to handle things in a pandemic and this is definitely not one of them, so disappointed in this facility.

Love Dr. Bock and her staff. Been with her since 1982. Wanted a consult for getting my dog’s teeth cleaned. Said we didn’t need it yet.

Dr. Bock is amazing. She remembers all my kitties and the whole experience is very personal. Every experience with any of the vets or techs at Southwick has been professional and compassionate.

Never going back. Called to make an appointment because my cat was sneezing, had allergy-like symptoms, vomiting, and was walking around like he was dizzy. We were starting to get worried. They were able to get us in the next day but after bringing him in and doing their checkup, they told us that he would need antibiotics for an upper respiratory infection and that he had arthritis, which would explain his wobble. They also tried to prescribe him anti-diarrhea medication after I had told them twice that he was not having any diarrhea. I really don't know where that came from. That night after bringing him home, we gave him his antibiotics and he seemed content. At 4 am I was awoken to him meowing in pain and his wobble had gotten significantly worse, to the point where he could not walk. He was obviously frightened by his condition and had begun to vomit and urinate. When i looked into his eyes, they were shooting from left to right rapidly, as if he was dizzy, and his head was swaying in a circular motion. I stayed up with him all night to make sure that he wouldn’t hurt himself and to make sure that he was still in a stable condition until I could call the vets office at 9am, when they opened. After calling and describing his symptoms, the lady had told me he had vestibular disease due to an ear infection, which I had already known, because it took me 5 minutes to diagnose him with a simple google search, “dizzy cat”. My concern was why they didn’t tell us he had an ear infection at his check-up, and they blamed the way he was walking on arthritis without any testing being done to determine that. This leads me to believe they just heard the symptoms we listed and classified it as an upper respiratory infection and didn’t even give him a full checkup and look into his ears. Not to mention, the lady over the phone was not listening to anything I was saying and talking over me the whole time. She suggested a subdermal medication that would help his nausea and after I asked the average cost, she said “i don’t know, im not the pharmacy”, instead of maybe trying to help us figure out that information. I ended the call and decided it was best that we try a new vets office. My entire experience with this lady seemed as if she thought we were stupid. After 3 days since this occurred, he has slowly been regaining his balance and going back to normal and we have set a new appointment with a new vet.

No ma’am, not today or ever! You can pay me to wait! Issue number one. I have an elderly dog that needs his teeth looked at. I am fairly new to this area so he needs a new vet all together. His old vet never took him out of my sight because my dog literally gets so terrified that he will pee on himself. I scheduled two appointments with this vet and expressed my concern while booking. Turns out, when I get there they have Covid procedures where they take your pet and you wait in the car. Let me be clear, I understand covid and why they would have these procedures but I feel like the person who scheduled me would have had enough sense to mention this when I was booking, considering I expressed my concern on the front end. Issue number two, and the deal breaker, when I get there I call to ask if there are some sort of covid procedures because it is clear that there are when I saw the parking lot. I kindly mention to them, I would have appreciated someone mentioning this to me because at this point I’m stressing about my dog. They should obviously be going over their new procedures with all patients, it shouldn’t be a guessing game upon arrival. Soo, I sit there, and I sit there, and then 30 minutes pass by and I decide, I should call. Perhaps they have forgotten that I am sitting in their parking lot waiting for them. When I called, you would think they would be apologetic for wasting my time but no, the lady more had an attitude of why am I calling to check in, she knows I’m out there. Excuse me, my time is precious and you are wasting it. She then proceeded to ask me to move my car closer so they don’t have to walk as far across their small parking lot. Um, no thanks I’ll go somewhere else.

I arrived for my first appointment for my two pets on a Saturday morning. A receptionist came to my car to give me the paperwork to fill out, and she asked me which of my pets was new to the vet. I informed her that both of my pets were new, as I had just moved to St. Louis and was looking for a new vet. The receptionist seemed hesitant to believe that neither of my pets had been seen there before, which I understand somewhat because I am sure people do abuse the free new client exam. However, then I stated that I had brought the feces samples they had requested for both of my pets, and I had them with me in the car. She gave me a disgusted face and told me to hold on to them until she comes back to collect my paperwork. I was the only car in the parking lot, so I don't understand why she would not take them at the time. I got out of my car and put the samples on the ground outside of my car because the smell was not something I wanted in the car. She came back out and gave me a very judgmental look and said "oh wow, okay, I guess I will take these". That was aggravating because would you want to sit in a confined space with poop in your car for 25 minutes waiting for a vet to come out?? No, probably not. The receptionist seemed judgmental and honestly, quite rude. Bad first impression. But I was excited to meet the vet because I had read all of the great reviews for Southwick, and my last vet was so great and seemed to really care about my pets. Dr. Pam eventually came out to get one of my pets, and I waited in the car. When she came back, she told me that my pet had Ehrlichia. I attempted to ask her questions about it, and she continued to refer me to a brochure she would bring me. I understand that we are in a pandemic, but I do expect my vet to have some level of communication with me about a new diagnosis for my pet, especially because it did not appear to be busy as I was the only car in the lot. Dr. Pam then took my other pet and came back. I attempted to ask Dr. Pam again about the Ehrlichia diagnosis, and she first forgot which of my pets had the diagnosis, and then again just referred me to the brochure. I had to remind Dr. Pam which pet she originally told me had Ehrlichia, and then she corrected herself. That made me nervous. Then she gave me the brochure and I begin to look through it and it did not have much detail about this disease at all. The brochure was a list of common tick diseases in pets, it wasn't even specific to Ehrlichia. Dr. Pam gave me the antibiotics and said bye. I drove home completely concerned for my pet, as I had no idea what the prognosis was or the symptoms or if there was a need for follow up. I do not feel comfortable going to this vet again, as both the receptionist staff did not seem welcoming and the veterinary staff did not seem willing to discuss my concerns.

This vet office is superb. From the techs, reception and especially the doctors I couldn’t imagine taking my fur baby anywhere else. They saved my dogs life and then had my back in a very scary situation. They are kind and wonderful humans, all of them. They are so patient with me being a first time dog owner and are so sweet when I have 100000 questions and call them constantly. I’m so lucky to have found them. I highly recommend, always will. Thank you for saving his life. I will forever be grateful

I would not recommend taking your animals to this vet. My cat had a possible UTI and needed a urine sample. There was a lack of care with the staff. I was told my exam was free just to see her but upon receiving my bill they charged 54 bucks. Not insane, but they said it was an “illness exam” although when I asked what they did for her they weren’t able to collect her urine sample after 3 hours and recommended sedation. Pretty sure I could’ve done that for free. She obviously was uncomfortable and stressed as I wasn’t allowed to go in with her either. I would not take my animal to a place that tries to get fees over on their customers and the culture seemed to be unforgiving with no empathy for the animals well being. Huge waste of time.

I cam without an appointment to get my dog Vaccinated. Although he was already booked, be quickly ran to the back and got the 2 vaccinations injections and administered it in the small lobby. Great Vet, I did not have cash on me, (I thought he took visa),he still gave the vaccine and told me to come back when I had the time. Very sweet veterinarian who truly cares about your pet.

This place is great for our older dog. The vet removed a cyst & cleaned his teeth at an affordable price. Friendly staff & doctors, who answer your questions & return your calls. They treat your pet like their own. Glad we were referred here by a neighbor.

It was my first time at Southwick Veterinary Hospital but I couldn't be more pleased. Everyone, from the front desk people, to the tech and the Vet, were all super nice and professional. My Maltese needs surgery soon, he will definitely be in good hands at Southwick.
