My sweet pitty Nutella loves the staff here!! She is always treated with great care and they do not perform or charge you for unnecessary treatment. My dog's eye recently swelled up and turned all red and foggy. Turned out she has glaucoma …

Ppl are nice, but sucks to drive a hour to get here and not allowed to use restroom. I am a paying customer not a bum off the street. Extremely upsetting ????

I've been taking my animals here for years and I've never been disappointed. The customer service is great and the place is clean. Of course it smells like animals but that's expected.

Thanks to everyone at Rock Road Animal Hospital for making time to give us an unscheduled appointment to check Winston for his excessive panting. I was relieved to find his ears were not very infected. Thanks to Dr STROUD FOR CLEANING AND CHECKING THE EARS.

I took my dog for his first visit with Dr. Cays. She was incredibly attentive and open to everything I was sharing and really listened. It was wonderful and he will be going there from now on. It was lovely to not feel rushed and to actually be heard.

I adopted my dog Louie from SAPA so he was already receiving care from Rock Road Animal Hospital. I decided to stick with the practice even though it is a bit of a drive from where I live. I’m really glad I did! I brought my dog in yesterday for a non-emergency surgery and they were able to fit him into their schedule that day. I was really thankful for this because even though his issue was a non-emergency, it was definitely bothering him. This was the first time I was able to go in to the office with him (since I adopted him in August 2020). I saw firsthand how the staff interacts with Louie and I can tell that they care about him just as much as I do. They took time to discuss my options with me and choose a treatment plan I was first comfortable with. Overall, a great vet. We love Rock Road!

This clinic has been great for 4 years. Haven't been there since 2/21. My dog has an ear infection and in a great deal of pain. I called on 6/17 and was told they couldn't see him but she was sure they would let me pick up ear drops. No return call by 7 p.m. so I called back. This girl told me there was no record of my call so I explained it to her. She asked the doctor about the drops. Dr. said no. They then offered me an appointment on the next Monday 6/21. I couldn't believe my vet couldn't take an emergency. They are an Animal Hospital for goodness sake!!! I called again on 6/18 and they could see my baby on Saturday 6/19. Hes been in pain with a bad ear infection since 6/16. They said they had emergency appointments then. She then stated I would have an extra wait because there were other appointments. No problem. But then she stated I would be charged an EXTRA $30 for an emergency visit. I asked her when everything changed and I asked her when did they become All About the Money. She denied it and I told her we wouldn't be back. After I hung up I received a call from Lauren, their office manager telling me they would send my records to another vet. Now I read on these reviews the practice was sold to a company and now I'm glad they didn't see my dog. I think we should ALL make a complaint to the Better Business Bureau. They aren't there for the pets anymore, its definitely all about the dollar. Disgusting!!!

Stay away from the vet "hospital' in the 9500 block of St. Charles Rock Road. They are a lot more interested in archaic social distancing/masking than animal car.

We are new to this state. We made an appointment for our 2 dogs for July. Since then one of our dogs has gotten very sick. She is dying. I didn't want to see her sufer anymore so I called to get her put down. This is a hard decision but needed to be done. We got there and had to call and let them know we were there. First they put me on hold for a very long time! They they were asking the same questions I told them when I made the appointment! They wanted to do a complete physical on the poor suffering dog and all kinds of tests. Put her through more misery, and jacking up the price!!! My husband got upset and went to the door with the dog!! We ended up bringing my poor dog back home!!!! We won't be going back. We are looking for someone else to help her. I would NOT Recommend this place for anyone that loves there animal!!! All they want is money, they don't care for animals!!!!

Only use this Vet if you plan on taking your dog in for a yearly checkup. If you don't they will put you on a non current list and will make you wait 6 weeks before they see you regardless of the severity of your dogs condition. Lauren, I will call shortly to discuss. You might want to talk to the people answering the phones because I would think a my dog is unable to walk should constitute and emergency. I even mentioned how you used to offer a 50 dollar walking fee and she said that is no longer in effect starting June first so would I like an appointment or not.

I'm really disappointed that I couldn't go in with my Cleo cat. I understand Covid risks, but isn't that why we're wearing masks everywhere. Pets need the reassurance of their owners presence.

We had the heart break of having to put our family cat down after we had him for almost 19 years. We have been coming here for years and when we called to make the appointment to put our family member to rest the acted like they only cared about the money and telling us how much everything was going to be, we really just got turned off, when loosing a part of your family you dont relly want to hear about the cost until you go in unless we ask other wise. I feel like they only cared about how much money they could get out of us, and they wouldnt even set up the appointment for us. We will not be coming back, we will be going else where, a place that cares about our pets and not just the money they can get out of us.

I have been to a few vets over the years and hands down Rock Road Animal Hospital is the best. Everyone on the staff is so extremely kind and informative. They go out of their way to make sure you understand each process answering any questions you may have along the way, they provide complete documentation and help you get everything in order, they work with your schedule to make sure your appointments meet your time. I feel more care from the vet staff than I have even for a human doctor, they truly care about your animals. I would also like to add that after my dog was spayed there she came out in the best of mood, she wasn't scared of the staff at all, she was so calm and as healthy as when I dropped her off. There aren't enough stars to give them I feel like 5 isn't enough.

Very displeased with this animal hospital, Been going here for years and will now find a new veterinarian for our puppies. A $200 bill to have a broken nail clipped, Horrible job was done. still had broken pieces of the nail and phrase hanging off of it which led to infection within a week or so. When I mention this and returns to have it taken care of I was told we needed to remove the nail completely for a quoted price of 700$! I knew it was not done properly an insisted to just clip it again. I then was charged $250 nearly for them to just do it again correctly, In fact had to pay more the 2nd time because I was considered an emergency visit even though I had called 3 days prior for a follow up appointment... Now dogs nail is 100% perfect, thank god I didn't let them remove it, it was completely unnecessary! We will not be miss lead again by rock road animal hospital. Update, do not use this business for a animal you care for. They will quickly reccomend the most expensive and excessive solution even when not necessary. Find a quality animal hospital, this is not it. All new doctors, I think is just a lack of experience. I won't waste 1000$ here to fix a 200$ problem that wasn't properly done in first place!

Sorry this is a long review. I feel the need to vent a little. On February 11, 2021 My son and I brought our 16 year old cat, Kitten, to The Rock Road Animal Hospital to be euthanized. This was the first time we have ever dealt with having to have a member of our family put down. The experience of having a pet euthanized went as I would expect it would. They were very respectful with our precious Kitten and understanding of our emotions while carrying out the procedure. The reason I'm writing this review is that I was told that day that they would have Kitten's ashes back in a week or so and then asked us if we'd like to have a set of her paw prints. Absolutely, I said and I'd like 3 sets of them, one for myself and my 2 kids. I assumed I'd be picking the ashes and prints up all together. A couple days later I realized our old address was listed on our receipt from RRAH. I called them to say that it needed to be updated. I was told by an employee there that she was glad I called to update. A week later I picked up Kitten's ashes and asked where are her paw prints? She said, They mail those to you. It's been almost 3 weeks now and no prints. I called RRAH and she said they mailed them on Feb.12, the day after Kitten was euthanized. I realized then that they mailed them to our old address where we had lived 3 years ago. I'm sure the new tenant just tossed them in the trash. My frustration came when I called RRAH and told them they mailed them to the wrong address. I said if your policy is to mail the prints why didn't you tell me that when we were there. Just tell me.... We'll be mailing Kitten's prints to you is this your current address on file? She tried to shift the blame on the craziness of the Pandemic and made it seem as if it were partially my fault. I did not know they were mailing her prints to me. Now her prints are long gone with her and CAN NOT be replaced. My job requires working with the public and I always ask if the information I have for them is correct. All I'm asking of RRAH is that you take a few seconds to explain to family members that paw prints are to be mailed and make sure they have the current address.

3 months ago I discovered my cat had a tumor in her brain and it that it would be best to put her down. I.paid for a service to have my cats remains sent to me along with her paw prints. It's now been 3+ months and I have yet to receive anything from these people. I have extreme difficulties getting anybody on the phone, and when I do the would-be responsible party , conveniently, is never there, Due to my phone receiving tons of spam calls, I have explicit outgoing instructions guiding them to leave a voice message or they will be considered spam and then be blocked. So so either they are incapable of following instructions or they simply or not calling me back. I don't have the energy to chase these people to get them to do their job.. at this point I'm doubting that I will ever receive my beloved cat's remains... ????

Wished we could have come in with Maisie, but understand Covid precautions. Dr. Cays explained everything about Maisie’s visit and updated us when her blood work results were in. We are very happy with Dr. Cays; she is competent, gentle, and always cheerful.

I have only had a couple of appointments because I have just been so frustrated with this establishment. my family has always had amazing veterinarians who know you personally, care about your animal keep the records and when they say they're going to call you about your appointment actually follow through I've had three or four scheduled appointments and have never received a call I understand they do not want to let people inside the building and I understand the risk of safety but at some point you have to show you care in other ways then. My dog was scheduled to be neutered and they told me about half the information of what was going to take place and the pricing and what I need to do and where I need to go and she guaranteed me they would call me the day before and give me the rest of the information. I never received the call so I had to cancel my appointment and now I'm going to have to go find a new veterinarian and have to check them out first before obviously letting them neuter my pet. They do have fast service I will say that but now it kind of seems like it's not fast because they're trying to be convenient but more what's convenient for them. I've learned that reviews do not mean everything so hopefully the next time. I shouldn't have to figure out whether or not they're able to handle the responsibility of such a major surgery. Scared to think that they might have performed that surgery for my pet. it is a major inconvenience and just a disappointment because when I first read all the reviews it was amazing and it seemed like they really cared and when I came to put this review I was shocked by how low the score had gone down so clearly it is an issue that is current. I have never had such bad communication from anyone I've ever worked with before so disappointed!!

Ever since covid started, customer service has plummeted to zero. And I wish I could give this place no stars. I'm very disappointed in this establishment. My family has a history of going to place for a very long time. And every year, the last 10 years, the people that run this place have just made my experiences very negative. Please don't bring your animals here anymore. I dont trust that they will treat them with care and respect because they could not treat me with respect.

The staff there is so rude! First time there and I will never go back!!! That place needs to be closed down the way they treat people! I work with the public and would never in my life treat someone how they treated me! I can't even imagine how they treat the animals. And no response needed from this establishment!! Thank you they said enough in our phone conversation!!✌✌

I love Rock Road Animal Hospital, they have always been very nice and attentive to my dog's needs. Due to Covid restrictions, we have to wait in the car for appointments. The vets and techs always take care of appointments in a timely manner. I'm so glad I found Rock Road Animal Hospital. Thank you for taking care of my Bobby Brown!

I tried to get my Miss Kitty in for emergency appointment but was told I could not get her in as my animals that I brought in the past years were not current. It’s heartbreaking when your baby needs to get in and then being told no. I’m sure I’ll get a sarcastic reply as they weren’t very empathetic. So you are saying since my Kitty has been healthy since2017 I am penalized ?

I have 4 babies I bring to Rock Road Animal Hospital and have always felt they treat you like you are the most important customer. For once my dogs aren't afraid they feel very comfortable which is a big change from our last vet! My pittie gives kisses to everyone and has to go there at least every 3 months for skin issues. They always get me appointment right away even if I am being a worried crazy dog mom!

All of your staff showed us much compassion when we lost our last two fur babies. Both while when we visited your clinic and especially after we had these two great losses, your words and actions were of great comfort.
