Will not work with my schedule for a Saturday appointment for a new client when they are open on Saturday

Called trying to schedule an appointment to get my dog checked as he’s been having a stomach problem for the last couple of days and I can get to Springfield faster (not my normal vca) and was told that they are not accepting new clients. I was told that I could bring my dog to any VCA in the nation for a checkup when I pay for their program. To find out that I will have to wait an extra day to bring my dog back to Kansas to get him checked has me extremely upset. I’m very worried about my dog. Never in my life have I been more disappointed with any company.

We love Dr. Sherman. I'm a bit of a worrier, but the staff is always super helpful and supportive and answers my questions. My boys aren't the best at vet visits, but the team really tries to make sure they feel safe when they're being seen. The one time I did have a concern, Dr. Sherman called me herself, apologized and explained the situation calmly. I really appreciate that because my boys are my babies, and it's easy to get upset quickly when you feel like you can't help them. Highly recommend.

The staff here is absolutely exceptional. I have brought my pup there for his shots, fecal tests, and basic wellness visits. I switch off living between Missouri and Wisconsin and VCA Parkcrest continues to go above and beyond, answering my questions quickly and with the utmost integrity. I cannot say enough how much I trust my pup in their care.

Love Dr G., however his admin staff has horrible organization skills and are not reliable.

Love the staff at Parkcrest! All the Doctors are great and I would trust my dog with any one of them. Dr Ziegler takes care of our dog Ellie and we couldn't be happier.

Dr. Sherman is one of the nicest people that will ever tend to your pet! The last time we had a puppy issue Dr. Sherman made a follow-up call on the weekend. The friendly staff and flexible scheduling keep us coming back year after year.

VCA is a quality facility that provides excellent and professional care. All of the staff here are super careful with the animals and will work with you and your pet to provide the best veterinary service. I am super happy with them and would recommend them to anyone. Pricing is a little higher than other places but if you are willing to pay a little more for quality care then this is the place for you. They also provide some grooming services and pet lodging if you are away. ???? I was concerned about my puppy getting parvo when I first brought her home and they gave me some great tips for keeping her safe until she was fully vaccinated.

I can’t thank Parkcrest Animal Hospital enough. I have been taking my dog Coconut here since she was a puppy. When coconut got sick a few weeks ago, Parkcrest took her in right away and was able to give her the antibiotics and fluids she needed, and just a day before we left for our wedding. I’m so thankful they were able to get her in, and they went above and beyond to make sure she had everything she needed to be okay while we were out of town.

We have entrusted Parkcrest Vet with two of our pups. Dr. Garoutte is, hands down, the most caring vet in Springfield.

The office staff is incredibly friendly and helpful! We have two dogs, one is terrified of vets and the other is aggressive with other dogs (due to an incident in his past), they’re very accommodating. The vet takes off her white jacket when she enters the room so as to reduce some of my dog’s anxiety. We’ve seen three different vets in this office and have been very happy with all of them. Most recently, Dr. Rankin who spent half an hour examining my pooch thoroughly and with gentle care and love to help us discover why he is sick. We really appreciated the loving touch, I felt like she genuinely cares about my pet and wants him to be better. Prices are comparable to other vets in town, maybe a smidgen higher but the convenience of scheduling and friendliness of staff makes it worth the price. They also accept Care Credit and offer a prepaid Care Club package for your pets. They offer boarding services, grooming, teeth cleaning and all the other standard services you would expect from a vet. I would highly recommend this office for all your pet needs.

I bought a puppy that turned out to be very sick. Very troubled breathing and was full of congestion. Dr. Gaurette and his team saved my puppies life. She had a horrible respiratory infection and was full of every worm possible. Dr. Gaurette started her on a heavy antibiotic along with other things for her recovery. I am happy to report she has made a complete turn around!!! She is almost 10 weeks old now and is going to make it. Dr. Gaurette and his team were so knowledgeable and their customer service is outstanding. This is a great team of individuals who really care about the animals.

We moved here from Colorado earlier this summer and I was super apprehensive about leaving my trusted vet of 19 years and having to find a new one. VCA Parkcrest has been absolutely AMAZING for us. The staff is very friendly and kind. We have seen 3 of the vets there now as my Dane boy has had a bad run of medical drama the past month. Hoping to only be in for preventive and yearly care next but I feel comfortable in knowing that they are there when we need them. Thank you guys very much! ~Stacey Ward

We just returned from putting our dog down. Pepper was with us for over 15 years. The staff at Parkcrest were so kind. They gave us a vile with her that had a heart engraved "love our dog" ... Also, a candle was lit in the lobby, asking everyone to be quiet while we said our goodbyes. Thank you for your kindness during this difficult time.

I came in for the first time in a mild panic over my dog (who has had a bad run medically the past couple months) having a badly swollen eye that also wasn't tracking right and they were the first of about 6 vets I could get into without several days between. Staff was kind and helpful, and the vet tech and Dr. Rankin were patient, caring, and thorough with my dog (and patient with me and my worrying). Changed up an antibiotic she was given by another vet earlier in the week due to suspected allergic reaction, and sure enough she was looking better in a day or two. Very happy with the experience, and while I am happy with my prior vet I may well be making a change to make VCA Parkcrest my primary vet.

Incredibly friendly and helpful staff. The technicians even recognized and loved on my dog after only her second visit! The veterinarians I've encountered are very knowledgeable and helpful. I had blood work done for my dog in preparation to get her spayed, and Dr. Rankin called me explaining my dog actually has an infection. She was patient in explaining the situation and made sure I knew all the information I needed. She made me feel at ease, and I know my dog is in good hands with her and the rest of the staff!

Rude and non caring. If you say open until 6:30 you should have a vet there that can prescribe some antibiotics in an emergency. My dog is bleeding diarrhea and just needs some antibiotics. They don't seem to care about animals, or they would allow him to be brought in.

we have gone here for years but lately it seems to have gone hill fast. The staff is always rude and unprofessional anytime we call or go in. Over the years we have needed emergency visits, we take them in they look at them and tell it’s nothing or they don’t see anything then charge us an expensive emergency fee. Every time we have had to go back the next day because our pet is worse than the day before, we again get charged the emergency fee and other fees. I can see this happening as pets can’t speak to say what is wrong but every single time and then charge us office visit/emergency visits every single time seems ridiculous. Sometimes after they fail to treat the issue the day before they are too busy the day after to get them in when they know the pet is in pain because they witnessed the shaking, crying, and all that just the day before. We also take our pets in every 6 months for full work ups and shots, we hadn’t not shown up for appointments but when my car broke down on the side of the road in 98 degree heat so I called them to let them know what was going on and that I will probably need to reschedule as I don’t know that I can be on time they got really rude and said if we can’t make it then we won’t be seen again. Then picked up the phone and called my boyfriends sister who isn’t the pet owner or anything to tell her we were failing an appointment but someone needed to have the dogs there at 1. We had already paid for the appointment (almost $2500 for our pets to have physicals, shots, heart worm, flea and tick, etc) and never not showed up and I called as soon as I got off the phone with the tow truck, and that’s what they tell me. I could understand if we missed appointments all the time (us both being in health care we know how it affects the practice when you no show or cancel last minute). I have 2 hungry kids in my car in the middle of July, no shade, the tow truck said it would be about 2 hours and they want to threaten us if we can’t find a way there, horrible. Not sympathetic to families when they lose a pet either, same rude staff as usual. Customer service is horrible and we feel like they’re ripping us off with the not treating our pets so we have to come back.

This is a great place to take your pet. The vets are pragmatic and caring and the staff is always very friendly. If you have an urgent situation that is not an emergency they will work with you to get your pet in quickly. Plus, now that they are a VCA vet, lab results are generally available the next day! Best vet office I have ever dealt with!

Nobody does better at treating our kids like family. (One big and one little) They care as much as we do about our two little ones. Perfect veterinary care.

I take my cat here regularly. He's pretty aggressive and they kind of antagonize him instead of being gentle with him but I can't really blame them too much, he's a lot to handle. When we put down our nearly 16 year old Schnauzer here, we were all devasted, crying to the point that my mom gave herself a nosebleed. They were incredibly compassionate and didn't make us feel stupid for being so attached to our dog. The vet was kind and respectful and gave us plenty of time to say goodbye. They aren't perfect but their treatment of my family and I during that really hard time has earned them my loyalty.

The doctors & staff at Parkcrest Vet have taken care of my dogs for nearly 25 years. I wouldn't go anywhere else and cannot say enough good things about them. They are so caring and treat your pups or kitties as if they were their own.

Receptionist gave our dog dirty looks. The staff was unprofessional. We came to do a wellness exam for our MASTIFF/LAB mix. He was treated by the staff as some mean big dog. Was told that we need to go and "register" him because he looks like a pit. Told them he is not a pit and they remarked that they are "professional identifiers" whatever in the hell that is supposed to mean. Our dog is a 100 pound teddy bear and they treated him like he was an aggressive dog. Had my wife worried sick when they took him in one room and set her in a room all by herself without telling her what they were doing or why. Well, Parkcrest Vet, I would have you know that we took him to the Springfield Shelter the next day and your "professional identifier's" self-coined term was met with that of an actual city professional and saw our dog and said that it would be absurd to register him because he doesn't look like a pit terrier in the least. I gave it one extra star for the actual Veterinarian (whom might I add was just a temp vet on-call!) that saw him and was extremely nice and professional, unlike the actual Parkcrest Vet staff. On our leave, the receptionist gave more dirty looks to our dog on the way out. Do yourself a favor and stay away from this wretched establishment.
