The staff were more interested in answering the phone than assisting an in person customer. After filling out an application, being honest about my pets veterinarian, I was denied adoption due to my absolutely spoiled dogs, not being up to date on their yearly shots. I guess they would rather keep those poor dogs locked up in jail than send them home with a family. Poor dogs and cats there. It's sad. They need love. Moral of the story, don't be transparent.

We gave a fur ever home to the best cat, Macaroni....staff was loving to their pets and knew their personalities. Very helpful ❤

Argumentative and overly picky regarding adopting a cat or dog. Moderately condescending.

Totally worth it they won't let you adopt if u have other pets and no vet tho

Went and got three cats fixed at the same time. The staff was very polite and kind, called me with a follow-up question, and pick-up was a breeze. Their procedure costs and flea medicine were much cheaper than our local vet (we live an hour away), and the attitude we received was well worth the drive!

Amazing. The staff were super thrilled to help me get acquainted with the cats, and even helped direct me to the right cat for my life style. Needless to say that I went home with a new family member. Miss Kitty was the best addition to my household and I would adopt from them again!

This place is amazing. The staff is wonderful and I love what they do for people and animals. I would recommend everyone go check it out, volunteer to help out, donate, or just visit the animals and give them attention.

Needs To Update Their Online Missing Pet Page More Often Our Family Pet Went Missing 12/09/21 & Though We Reported Her Missing On Their Website To Help Spread The Word We've Yet To See It

They seem to be doing a great job finding homes for dogs that would otherwise be put down.

Staff was rude and not helpful at all actually seemed annoyed to help my family with the adoption process, Or just didn’t understand it at all. Staff just flat out lied when they said our kitten was treated for fleas. We got him home and we found multiple. overall just disappointed that these people in charge of the adoption of animals gets annoyed and start being rude when asked to do their job or just ask for ANY help in general….DO NOT GO HERE

My husband and I live outside of Springfield but made several trips in to inquire about a particular dog. The final trip we were told that none of the dogs but one were compatible to a home with another dog. We looked at the one dog and my husband got overly excited (he's on the spectrum) and without thinking about what he was actually saying just thinking he would "save" two dogs said he would keep the one who had came to them as an outdoor dog outdoors thinking that that was what they wanted. I immediately corrected him and told him we would never ever have an outdoor dog. So we asked to see one of the puppies that had just came in and the girl said sure let her know which one. From this point we witnessed her help a girl help two other people and completely ignore us. We finally asked her again to see see puppy after being told earlier on the phone that we could have them bring them out and hold them for us and we couldn't touch but could see them. She just said she wouldn't be able to then went back to ignoring us. No kindness. No explanation. Nothing. We have vet recommendations. I have adopted other animals that lived their complete lives with me from this location. We just wanted to add some companionship to our dog and ourselves after our senior passed away last year. I'm sadden to know that one of their puppers is going to miss out on car rides, treats, playing outside and inside, naps on the couch, and loads of love.

I was at this place some months back, don't remember entirely, my gal has a cat which is needing fixed, I called to make the appointment for her to have that done, get informed the payment for that is required upon making the appointment and the appointment would take a month just to process, on top of that, I tryed calling other times, nobody answered til we went there in person, told the gal working the appointment desk for that department I tryed reaching out to them more than once, get informed she was the only employee staff member working in that office which is a very big problem, I highly suggest you get other staff in there if you haven't already plus get informed once again payment is still required up-front upon making the appointment and that it again takes afew weeks to process making the appointment which I do not agree with at all, said it was policy? Honestly? Down-right ridiculous, I seen the other reviews for this place, some of which looked to be poor one's and sadly? Unfortunately I am not very impressed at all, whoever it is that runs the operation of the whole show? Whoever owns it? Whatever you wanna call it? I highly suggest you keep a much better eye on those in the work place itself and observe the performance of everybody there if not has already been done, ive worked with and around costumers off n on years and after some of the reviews I saw, some people were not treated very desently as they should have been, that means don't ignore the costumer, don't refuse them the adoption of the pet they desire, if they can't make that happen than maybe whoever that employee is, it's the wrong line of work for them and shouldn't be there at all, seriously, there payed for this, they were hired to get the job done, not just make it look like there doin something

Places like this that put the care of animals first before anything deserves the biggest amount of praise animals can't speak for themselves we have to fight an do for them they depend on us humans to care an protect them

Do not think the people who work there have experience with the public or animals

Horrible! We are very experienced dog owners (have owned 13 from birth to death, including rescues) have excellent property & set-up for raising dogs. Our vet recommends us highly. But when we asked for assistance, the staff made it quite clear we were not acceptable. Many dogs were looking neglected and miserable, we were willing to take an older one or a pair, but no joy from SW MO Humane Society. We thought Humane Society was supposed to help find forever homes, not drive away potential owners who were willing & eminently qualified.

Very helpful staff! I filled out my application online the day before and read thru the material they provide on their website, so I came prepared with what I needed and was able to adopt our new family member after being approved. Very good experience.

I have taken 6 cats and kittens to the Humane Society to be spayed and neutered and given their shots. Everyone was so professional and so kind. They took such good care of the pets and there's a wonderful play area for the dogs and cats that are there waiting for adoption. The staff is amazing.

This place had always been great to me, well except for this older lady that worked in the cat area, she was clearly an old grumpy cat lady. Non the less the animals here I have notice are treated outstandingly and the staff has always been very helpful. My two puppys escaped my fenced yard one morning, I called the humane society and a very awesome person had found my puppies and took them there. If the staff could tell me who it was I would thank them very much.

Would give zero stars if possible. Literal garbage. Was fostering a dog through the foster to adopt program. Went for the first bandage change. Got him back soaked in urine. Was literally taking great care of him. Noticed I had fleas in the house from an old roomate. Asked what the best way to take care of it was. And that was cause for concern enough to take him away , aPpArEnTlY worst foster program ever. They don't seem to care much at all

They don't return phone calls. I remember years ago the killed all the cats because they were sick instead of treating them.. I can't understand why they'd do that.. I thought they were a no kill shelter..guess not.

It was quicker than I thought and we love our girl!!
