Absolutely lovely people. They were all nice and treated my animal with the utmost respect, as well as working with how much money I had. They are now my regular vet.

From my first contact with the team at Hometown they were attentive, kind, professional and caring. When I had my appointment they handled my very high energy dogs with patience and used a low stress approach. The facility is clean and well designed. They offer a number of different therapies as well. I had timely follow-up with my dog's test results and the information that I needed to book their next visit. To say I was impressed was an understatement. Dani, Dr. Hilton, Brittany and Cassidy were fabulous. I highly recommend their hospital for your pet care needs.

We were staying in the Springfield area for a few months because of a family emergency. A friend recommended Hometown Vet and I'm so glad she did. They all took care of our 2 dogs and 1 cat. I would recommend Hometown Vet to anyone who needs short or long term pet care while staying in Springfield.

Dr Julie, as we call her, is absolutely incredible. Kind, caring and very loving to our babies. She is the absolute best, and so is her team!! Highly recommend this place!!!!

Hometown is the best veterinary practice in town. They have helped all three of our dogs more times than we can count. We've been going to them for the past 3 years or so since we moved back into the area. They are so helpful and go the extra mile to make sure our dogs are healthy. Our Rosey has a lot of health problems and they are so caring. Dr. Julie is our vet and she always helps my wife understand how we can best help Rosey and also the next steps we should take. We are so grateful for the staff--everyone who helps make our dogs' lives the best they can be.

There is nothing I can think of to make my experience better. Stellas first appointment was great and the staff were so friendly, easy to talk to, didnt make me feel stupid when I felt like I was (new pet owner) and do their best to thoroughly explain and recommend the best things for your pet. My dog had a sever allergic reaction that caused him to have some horrible ear infections. Although no appointments were available, Hometown gave me the option of boarding Lewis throughout the day and examining and treating him when they could fit him in. It was only a few hours before I got a call with a diagnosis and treatment plan. For the exam, treatment, AND new diet plan, the cost is very reasonable. It helped me out, as a single mom of 3, that they also accepted CARE credit. I loved that not only did they take care of the ear infections/skin infections, but they gave me the option of preventable treatment in the form of a new diet for Lewis. I will continue getting his new food from there using their online order and pick up option. I have zero complaints. You all are so thorough and kind. You have gone above and beyond for us. I won't go anywhere else for my fur babies ever again. I'm so thankful you popped up on my Google search. I will recommend Hometown to everyone I can. Thank you all so much!!

I went in here a few days ago after searching for a new vet. They got her in for an emergency exam that day. They were so thorough and loving to my dog. I unfortunately had really hard news about my pup. I couldn’t have asked for a better vet to hear it from. She sat with me and even cried with me. They are so professional! They are completely animal people and also wonderful with people:) I recommended 2 people that same day !!

I don’t know that it could have been better. When I brought our cat in, I was very nervous. I honestly thought it was going to be a “there’s nothing we can do” visit. I walked out feeling better and our cat is showing improvement. I could not have been more satisfied with the professionalism and genuine care demonstrated by the entire staff.

Doctors and staff are knowledgeable and friendly. Pricing is upfront. You can tell they really care about pets.

After using the same vet clinic for over 30 years, I made the switch to Hometown. I could not be more happy. We have been treated like family. The entire staff is knowledgeable, friendly and so willing to help! This has been a scary two weeks. So much peace in knowing that my fur baby is in wonderful hands!

I honestly don't know if there's anything that I'd change about this amazing clinic. I would have loved to come in with my pet (and to see the office, because it looks beautiful), but that's not under either of control of them or me — that's Covid's fault, and I appreciate the precautions that were in place to keep not just the people outside and inside the office safe, but all the animals, too! Despite not being able to go in with my senior dog, I was kept fully informed of everything going on, how he was doing, and any change in treatment and price, at my approval. My dog is very attached to me and has some abandonment issues from before I adopted him, on top of being blind and hard of hearing, but he wasn't even stressed after the appointment when I got him back. That has never happened! I was delighted by the professionalism and the quality of care and love given to my "blind old man baby" (as we call him at home) by everyone in the office but especially from his amazing doctor. I'm so pleased, and have already recommended the office to friends and family, including a friend with a sick cat who isn't getting the quality of care or consistency (they are happy to double, or even triple bill her, yet they won't give her a consistent diagnosis and have told her that her cat has everything from asthma, a heart defect, to lymphoma — but won't talk to her about any of it!) that she and her cat both deserve. After hearing about my experience, she's booking an appointment as soon as possible, even though she lives 3 hours away! Furthermore, I'll continue to recommend the office to anyone and everyone that I can! Very happy. :)

Very new to Hometown, but our first two visits were exceptional. I have never met the team in person other than to hand my dog off to a tech. The doctor called me as I waited and provided a very thorough explanation of her examination. She made suggestions that were not critical to care but something to consider. I received prompt contact regarding lab work. Very organized process due to Covid. I am looking forward to meeting this team of professionals.

TL;DR I'd give this vet 10+ stars if I could. They go above and beyond to ensure that your pet is receiving the care they need, even 175 miles away! If you have a pet with chronic health issues, Hometown makes it easy to seek quality care for your pet without being price gouged. The staff here are saints and genuinely care about your pet's wellbeing. Hometown vet is what I miss most about Springfield and I wish all the time that I could find the same caliber of care in Kansas City. I cannot say enough good things about this veterinary clinic! If you want people who care about your pet's health and quality of life, Hometown Vet is the place for you! My dog was a stray that we found when he was 3 y/o. He had a nasty ear infection in both of his ears and was scrawny. Hometown made sure that he was comfortable. Eventually, we found out the recurring ear infections he was getting were because he is allergic to EVERYTHING (dust mites, storage mites, cats, penicillin, etc). After his allergy test, we began him on Allercept, which is an injectable immunotherapy. It has changed my dog's life. He rarely gets ear infections anymore and his temperament has changed so much from the very anxious and reactive dog that we found. We moved to Kansas City in July of 2020 and began receiving my dog's immunotherapy through a vet up here, but eventually the vet up here raised the price of his shot beyond what I could afford. Despite the fact that I am 175 miles away, Hometown Vet, specifically Hannah, jumped through so many hoops for me to find out how they could get it to us through the mail because that would still be more affordable than purchasing it here. TALK ABOUT QUALITY CARE.

New to town and hadn't been able to establish with a vet yet. My cat managed to superficially burn both front paws, so I needed a sick visit. I called about 6 places and this clinic was the only one that squeezed me in same day, even though they were full. This was incredibly appreciated as it saved me an expensive trip to an urgent care/ER. They were very responsive/efficient and had a minimal contact visit experience due to COVID. The vet was very professional and friendly. She answered all my questions and had a great plan of care for my cat. Very thankful I found this place. Highly recommend.

You will not find a more caring or professional veterinary staff in Southwest Missouri. We have a medically complex and not incredibly friendly furry friend and I am an anxious owner. We have been using Hometown Vet for 5 years. Dr. Kara always has the newest ways to help our little pug live a comfortable life with her issues and Dr. Heywood is always incredibly compassionate when figuring out what is going on with our pug's many problems and with finding ways to prevent a lot of her troubles. We love all of the vet techs and staff. If you are looking for a place you can trust and will treat you like family, this is it!

Amazing employees! I started bringing my kitty here in November and I have received amazing service from all of the vets! My schedule is very busy and my kitty has been needing many visits to the vet and they are always making it possible for me to get the services need! I have seen Dr. Kim, Dr. Heywood, and Dr.Mease! They have all taken such good care of my kitty and it makes me so happy! We also just recently got a puppy and we take her to Dr. Heywood and our puppy loves her! The first time we brought her to the vet she was very afraid and wouldn’t even walk into the clinic. Now we have no problem taking her to the vet. The staff definitely cares about your pet at this location and will do everything they can for them! This is my third vet in Springfield and I am very happy with them and will not be switching!
