We found Angel Animal Hospital a few years ago and so glad we did! Both doctors are incredibly compassionate and caring, as well as all of the staff. I greatly appreciate the range of services offered, from conventional to holistic. Dr. Nie’s examination and evaluation of my dog’s issues were incredibly detailed and precise. Coming from a nurse, I have rarely seen as thorough of a workup on a person, let alone a dog. Very competent, in my opinion. In recent times, my budget has required to only get the basic care, which Dr. Flathers provides very well and is just as detail oriented. My first impression of them was great and it still is! Wonderful place to go!

Dr. Flathers is an amazing vet and so caring. Our little dog had a broken leg. It was hard finding someone to take a chance on her without major surgery which was very expensive. The good doctor took a chance on her and she has recovered with great results. So thankful for this wonderful woman and her amazing abilities. And to make things even better she called to check on our Willow several times to make sure she was doing okay. The staff were super sweet as well. Feeling so blessed and so very thankful!

The name really does say it all! My dog had a broken arm & I'm disabled on a fixed income. They helped me work with the Killuminati Foundation to get just enough help with my bill that it was manageable. They even helped with medication until I could get her prescription. They were the only veterinarian's office in town that offered any assistance to me & I can't thank them enough for that! Very highly recommended!

Dr. Nie and Courtney have been wonderful to work with and trust in care for our Shih Tzu who has been experiencing herniated disc/back issues since Nov. 2018. Through our interactions the whole staff is very caring and kind. I’m so thankful we discovered this clinic and the holistic services they provide. Dr. Nie is very knowledgeable and knows what is best for your pet to get them feeling better and living a happy life. He answers any questions you may have and explains everything is great detail. If your pet is sick, in a lot of pain or you’re needing a second opinion on something regarding your pet I recommend checking them out to see how they can help!

This clinic is an example of what all animal clinics should be! I am a crazy dog mom and they treat me with respect; but most of all they understand my emotional dependence with my fur child . No questions I ask or the many appointments I make; give me any feeling that they treat me like I am over doing it or “unbalanced” . They love helping me and are very conversational!! I love this clinic and the amazing “ DR. FLATHERS”. She honestly gets me and try’s to help me not overreact. I am very blessed to have found a clinic I feel safe to take my fur child to! Thank you for all you do for me and my family fur kids!!

I love this place. My cat is diabetic, she was in bad shape when I took her. They were extremely caring and did everything possible. My cat is doing 100% better now she is on proper medication. Amazing staff all around.

Angel (of death) Animal Hospital When you're sitting at the Emergency Vet Hospital at 3 a.m. with your best friend of 11 years dying needlessly because of misdiagnosis and inappropriate meds, you realize how important it was to choose a competent, ethical, honest vet, one you and your pet can trust. Your pet's life depends on it and he deserves better. You don't get a 2nd chance to make the right choice for him. There are many great vets in Springfield who don't put making $$ ahead of your pet's welfare, who are honest and professional who won't lie to you to cover their tracks after the fact....Please don't take your precious pet to this place. I am so sorry, Buddy. 12-11-20 Response: When you say I overdosed him with medications, I did give Buddy a whole pain pill rather than ½ on the very first day. I called the office immediately to tell Dr. Flathers and I offered to bring him in for evaluation. She said I should just skip the next dose and that I didn’t need to bring him in. She obviously wasn’t too concerned about it. ½ pain pill did not contribute to his death 6 days later. I’m sorry for your callous, unprofessional attempt to blame someone else for your incompetence. Only a guilty person concocts lies to cover his actions. I stand by the opinions of the two very competent vets who examined Buddy before he died. CHF! They both said Congestive Heart Failure. Your twisting the facts and misrepresenting events in an attempt to distort the truth doesn’t change reality and it shows your insensitive, unprofessional behavior. You misdiagnosed his condition, you gave him inappropriate meds for something he didn’t have and you failed to treat him for what he did have. You wanted to set him up for your scam pseudo-science services of massage, acupuncture, moonbeam therapy, etc. Its all about money with you, not about caring for the pet and giving him the best care. I've talked to groomers, other customers, and vets and they all say, 'Oh, don't go there!' I only hope other pet owners avoid this fate. I tell Buddy every day, ‘I am so sorry for taking you to that horrible place.’ If I could only undo it he would be alive today.

Let me first start by saying, I have been taking my fur babies to Dr. Falthers at AAH for nearly a decade and I have had nothing but stellar experiences here. I was in college at the time I discovered AAH and had no money. No one would see my Hazel unless I had the money upfront. I was distraught by the time I called. I spoke with Debbie that day and she suggested CareCredit. She even told me how to apply and had me do it while I was on the phone with her so I could let her know if I was approved or not. I was approved so she told me to bring Hazel in immediately. Other vets in our area accept CareCredit, but not one suggested it to me. Hazel was either bit or stung by something and her entire face was swollen. They gave her a treatment and she was better within the day. Everyone at the hospital was SO overly kind, sweet and caring. Every one on their staff has a kind warm personality and speak almost like you would expect an angel to, softly and with compassion. They truly care about their patients. Our Honey passed away in January after a potential diagnosis of cancer. We were not able to afford any further testing to confirm the diagnosis, although it really wasn’t that much. Dr. Flathers was so supportive of our decisions and checked up on us more than just the one time after the initial visit. She continued to check on us frequently throughout her illness. When she passed we called and left a message. They returned a call to us to let us know they received our message and gave their condolences. Later that week we received a very sweet card, signed by everyone in the office. AAH has never turned us away when we’ve called crazed after a scary and expensive night at the Emergency Vet Clinic or when something scary just happens like it does with fur babies. They have always been more than kind and helpful. Linda sets a tone in the office. She is the sweetest and kindest soul I have ever met. This hospital does everything with compassion. Everyone I have referred has said the same things. If we can’t afford something they do not make us feel bad for it, they always provide best case options and alternative options if we can’t afford the suggested option. I will never take my fur babies anywhere else. Cory, Astrid, Hazel and Olive love Dr. Flathers and the staff (and Honey did too). I’ve never seen animals EXCITED to go to the vet. If we say “Dr. Flathers” they get crazy excited! Thank you AAH for setting the bar so high! It’s no wonder you all are always busy!

I have seems like they think they can be rude because they are the only place within a 200 mile radius approximate that does acupuncture. The lady at the front desk just talks so slow about all the stuff you already know she assumed you don't. Such a waste of time. She kept shutting me down I kept shutting her down. I think she was making up excuses of why I couldn't bring my dog. She said it cost way more for follow-up visits then the first time I called, that lady quoted me about half the price. You can't get in here quickly. The last three times I have made an appointment They us to wait a week! The notes in their system are in accurate as well they are saying I'm a no call no show when I am not!

We owe our precious dog’s life to Dr. Flathers. They treated our girl with so much compassion and made sure they did whatever it took to make sure she received the proper treatment. They went out of their way to do an urgently needed emergency surgery on her. So glad I found them and extremely happy with the level of care. Thanks again for saving our Mia!

DO NOT GO TO THIS SCAM OF A CLINIC! Dr. Nie is nothing but a scam artist!!!! Had a bad experience here so I started asking around other vets/groomers. This man is here to take your money. When it comes to helping your pet — kiss that hope goodbye. Seriously, go anywhere else but here. The holistic ideas that he preaches do not work. He recommended me buy HIS essential oil blend & HIS marked up CBD oil.... NEWSFLASH: none of it works & now you are out thousands of dollars. This Dr has an ‘X-ray’ of my dog on his computer but she has never had an X-ray that is capable of being transmitted to a computer. The only X-ray she had, I HAVE, & it has to be held up to the light. What a freakin joke. ????

I cannot say enough good things about Angel Animal Hospital and Dr. Jane Flathers! She is absolutely the kindest, caring, and most compassionate veterinarian I have ever taken my animals to. She goes out of her way to accommodate you and your fur babies. She honestly cares about both the animal and the human. She presents different paths of care, to best help your animal with what you can most afford, without compromising quality of care. Her office personnel and vet techs are warm and friendly, caring about you and your babies too. I love it there! She's my vet for life now, ever since I was lucky enough to find her three years ago! THANK YOU, DR. FLATHERS & STAFF!!

I’m only giving this establishment five stars because I cannot give them six! They took marvelous care of our little dog while we were in the process of dealing with elderly parents medical emergency. They were very kind to us out-of-staters when we needed animal care. I HIGHLY recommend them!

Before we found Dr. Nie my fur baby Noah was in bad shape. We had gone to four different vet's in town and the surrounding area and had not gotten any answers. Dr Nie promptly diagnosed Noah with cancer ???? and proceeded with his treatment plan. We are now in our 8th week of treatment and Noah is doing better than ever! We have switched over to answers detailed turkey, goats milk kefir, CBD oil, vitamin d, and essential oils. Noah has had so much more energy to play, his hair is growing back, and the little warts that he had all over his lil body have begun to disappear!! Thank you Dr Nie, Ashley, and Courtney from the bottom of my heart.... y'all rock!! I'm so grateful to have been given so much more time with my baby thanks to you. ????????????????????????????????????

We moved from Texas in Jan 2018. My baby had been diagnosed with idiopathic seizures at 3 years old. Dr. King is AMAZING. She went the extra mile to make sure Jack was taken care of. The entire staff welcomed us. Unfortunately, Jack passed 2/26/18; his poor body just couldn't handle the seizures any longer. Dr. King and staff called and sent a sympathy card. So nice and thoughtful, as Jack had only been one time. I HIGHLY recommend Angel (Dr. King).

Dr. Flathers and her staff made sure my pup got the very best care. We had some odd circumstance where my pup had to be dropped off at our home. Once again they went out of their way, above and beyond to give us the very best and for our pup also!

They were able to work us in when our Westie wasn't doing well. Dr. Flathers and staff treated our dog like one of their own, very caring. I feel like they went the extra mile and saved our fur baby.

Dr. Nie is currently treating my cat Cricket with IV Vitamin C and a special diet, Answers Raw Chicken and Raw Goat Cheese. Dr. Nie added the ozone therapy and it has really added a whole new level of health for her. I do understand that there are conventional treatments for her condition, but all of them suppress the immune system and do not create a "cure" but often make the pet suffer side effects. Ozone does not have any side effects for my cat and has made her much happier. The diet has reduced her tummy swelling and is helping her maintain her immune system.

Simply put: you aren’t going to find better care for your pet. Not only does Angel offer both traditional and alternative medical therapies (something totally unique to the area), but this hospital is also comprised of the most caring team you will find. It’s not just a job to the staff. The work goes home with everyone in many ways. There is no greater concern than that of the patients’ well being and quality of life. I would put AAH up against any other clinic in the area any day of the week. You just won’t find the same level of love and dedication anywhere else.

Where do I start? I came to Angel Animal Hospital after several vets treat my dog like a number not a family member. Ellie, my pug/boxer mix started getting an aggressive cancer on her foot. It open into a very painful ulcer. After the other vets keep putting things off and telling me to go to Bradford park which has terrible reviews, way to expensive, and the stuff is rude. I turned to Angel. It was the best decision i made for my pups. Dr. Flathers immediately ran tests on Ellie confirming the type of cancer she had. That's when my understanding of how much Ellie's life was in danger with the aggressive cancer. I could tell her and the staff were very concerned and cared for Ellie like she was their own pup. Dr. Flathers perform surgery and removed her leg about 2 years ago. Ellie heal really fast and made a great recovery thanks to Dr. Flathers. Recently, Ellie fell ill again and I brought her in to see Dr. Flathers. They ran multiple tests to confirm the problem. They were very thorough as they always. Unfortunately, miss Ellie's cancer returned, more aggressive than ever. She has tumors around her heart and lungs. With this type of cancer there is nothing that can be done other that to ease her pain after it goes into the chest. Dr. Flathers sent her home with medcine to help with the pain. I have been devastated these past several days as Ellie's symptoms didn't seem to change. The staff and Dr. Flathers have been so understanding, caring, and passionate. These people have heart's of gold. Last night after work Ellie's conditions seemed the same and I planned to put her to sleep today. Dr. Flathers changed her whole schedule as their only opening was at lunch time and I can't afford to miss work. However, as we all know anyone that has lost a furry friend it's hard. I wouldn't have been in the right mental mind set to go back to work afterwards. Dr. Flathers understood this and worked to change her whole schedule even after they were closed she called me later last night to inform me she made an opening at 4:30 right after I got off work. Dr. Flathers compassion amazed me. I asked her if Ellie did start feeling better I would really like to take her to her favorite park one last time before the cancer over took her and spend as much time as I could with her while she still has a little time left. I was concerned about canceling if Ellie did feel better after Dr. Flathers changed her whole schedule around and spent her FREE TIME focusing all on Ellie and my well being after put her down that she would be upset if I changed my mind. Dr. Flathers stop me and told me that if Ellie condition betters she wants me to make to feel right about making the decision to put her to sleep and if I wanted more time with her she understands and thats all that matters. Today, Ellie's appetite came back, she sits up, hops around on her three legs, alert, and a little goofy as she always is. I cancelled my appointment today and I'm hoping Ellie continues to get well enough to spend a little more time with her. I believe the pain killers made Ellie feel well enough to eat again which bettered her state. All thanks to the staff at Angel. I won't ever go to another vet. I feel safe leaving Ellie with Dr. Flathers and the staff. To have that piece of mind that Ellie is cared for as if she is their dog is everything. I know she will be taken care of and loved by the staff. Again, Dr. Flathers is such a sweet, understanding, caring, loving veterinarian. When I spoke with her on the phone when about making the decision to put her to sleep I didn't just feel like I was just talking to my vet. I felt like I was talking to a friend that cared about me and Ellie. Thank you so much for everything you do Dr. Flathers and the staff. You are adored by my family for your values and how you truely care for animals. Thank you, thank, thank you! I can't say it enough, Thank you!

Dr. Flathers is amazing! She's very loving and caring and always wants whats best for pets and their owners. She even managed to get my very leery, not very nice dog to let her pet him. The ladies at the front desk are always very sweet too.
