My dog was bitten by another dog here 45 minutes into his boarding stay. Although they paid for the emergency vet bill (stitches were necessary), they still allowed the other dog to continue to frequent the facility. They also told me that my dog was the SECOND dog this particular dog had bitten. We’ve since taken our business elsewhere. But I do not recommend sending your dog here at all.

Lots of dogs stuffed in a small place. I'm not sure why they accept so many with such a small area. Employees did seem nice and caring and like they care.

Staff very nice. My dog drags me to the door to get in. He's so happy to go there and has so much fun.

Do not take your dog here. Over the past year this place has gone downhill significantly. The past three times we have boarded our dog here she has returned with a variety of infections, so much so that our vet told us to absolutely not take her back. We brought this to the attention of the manager with proof of her vet visits and coinciding infection diagnoses and he told us they thought it could be due to allergies (which is untrue as the vet told us on two separate occasions the week prior it was due to poor sanitation). Also, as far as I know a dog doesn't need loads of harsh antibiotics to clear up "allergies". Do not take you dog here unless you want a sick dog and to be loaded up with vet bills.

Awful service. Charged me for a full day when I said I wanted a half day. Dropped off at 7:38am and asked for a bath and a half day of daycare. They said she would be pulled from the floor at 12:15 to get her bath so I could pick her up at 1. I arrived at 12:50 to pick her up and charged me a full day. Apparently that 12 minutes difference in time calls for me to be charged a full day. They give you 5 hours from the time you got dropped off to when you pick up (which was not communicated to me) I looked at my outgoing calls to get exact times. Also, for anyone that wants to know the time spent giving your dog a bath is included in the day care time even though it’s a completely separate service in which they charge a different fee. I just thought this was extremely unprofessional and not right. To anyone that is thinking about bringing your dog here just know they won’t hesitate to rip you off.

Boarded our dog here for 6 nights while on vacation. Loved the daily picture uploads. Our pup slept for 4 days straight after he got home!

The watering bowl is an excellent place to have your dog cared for. They always take good care of my dog and he is always worn out when he comes home. The only downside is there are so many dogs there that when he comes home he almost always needs a bath cause he smells gross.

We LOVE this location! They are so personable, love on your babies, and take great care of them! Our dog got bit by another and was in need of stitches while we were out of town. They took our dog to the animal hospital, made sure he was comfortable, and ensured that the other dog was not allowed back. We love this place and recommend it to everyone!

Our dog has been well-treated here for 2+ years, going roughly once a month. Friendly staff and the premises seem clean and safe for dogs.

They will not take the advice and professional opinion of the vets at Millis Animal Hospital. If you go to Millis (and I have gone there for 40 years!) do not take your dog here. I just had to go pick my dog up (after dropping her off 40 minutes prior) and find other care provisions for her, as I leave town tomorrow. My dog is well ( and Millis confirmed it) but The Watering Bowl says that is not good enough. Save yourself some stress and aggravation and last minute planning for your beloved pet.... GO ELSEWHERE!!!!

My dog (Bodie) has been frequenting TWB since the Hanley location opened. He has gone to daycare, boarded, and received numerous mani/pedis from various staff members. One thing I can say with confidence is that Bodie always arrives and leaves with a happy demeanor and wagging tail. Previously, we had tried out other services in the area and found out that a 24/7 kennell did not get him enough exercise to be his happy self. We also realized that he was terrified of a place that offers similar services to TWB. Sometimes leashes are needed.

My dog loved this place. Always excited and never wanted to leave. I love that they post pictures of the fur babies on Facebook each day.

1) When we dropped our pup off they immediately took him from us without getting to say goodbye for the week. The lady shoved him through the door, which didn’t shut all the way behind him, so he made his way back out. Then she grabbed him by the collar and dragged him back in. He’s a really anxious pup so imagine the look of terror in his eyes when this happened. A proper “see you later, bud” would have eased his anxiety. 2) Due to how our dog was handled during drop off, he refused to eat for days. We got a call on the third day saying they started giving him gravy over his food to up his calories, which got maybe two more meals in him for a five day stay. 3) When we picked him up he definitely wasn’t acting right. We got home and realized he had a large bite on the inside of his thigh that looked like it had been healing for a few days. There are too many dogs in the play area and not enough staff to watch all of them, resulting in injury. I wish I wouldn’t have paid when we picked him up because we were upset from the time we dropped him off. Had we not been leaving for vacation the same day we would have taken him elsewhere.

There are so many things I love about The Watering Bowl. The staff is always friendly and seem to care greatly about the dogs they're trusted with. Front desk employees have a lot to manage at once, sometimes, and I've never seen any of them be anything but polite and helpful. The staff out in the yard always seem attentive and communicative with each other - they truly look out for the pups in their care. Management is compassionate and knows when and how to make the right call for the good of all their clients. We've boarded with them multiple times and never had a problem. They always tell us plainly if they notice any behavioral or health concerns while our dogs are there, and I've never had a reason to distrust them. Two experiences that I find exemplary... One of my dogs is people-averse. She's a rescue, and it takes her time to build trust. She once lashed out at another dog while at TWB, and the staff handled the situation with such compassion and professionalism on both sides - they made sure both dogs were physically safe; contacted me immediately; were incredibly reassuring that they understood she's not aggressive but was just scared; and they didn't bar her from returning. They communicated plans that we could put into action with their trainers and helped us get her back on track. It could have been an absolute nightmare for both people and dogs, but I'm so grateful for how they responded. Our other rescue is high-anxiety, and we tried so many things in the first year to address that. We were at our wits' end when we started working with Tyler, one of TWB's trainers. Tyler is so knowledgeable and good at reading a dog. He has a great presence that works really well for our dude. He showed us how to communicate (verbally and non-verbally) with our dog in a way that makes sense to dogs, and now we understand how to adapt our behaviors to new situations to help him process and grow through his anxiety. The methods Tyler has taught us are constantly returning the results we were looking for. It's such a relief to see our dog happier and healthier and living a better life. We wouldn't be there without Tyler's help. TL;DR - The Watering Bowl has built an amazing staff of individuals who care very much about all aspects of the work they're doing - you, your dog, everyone else's dog, their excellent facilities, and the STL-area community at large. I recommend all of my dog-owning friends and relations to them.

Stay away! Do not leave your dog there. My dog came back all bloody with diarrhea (Vet said it was because of the boarding conditions). Instead of taking care, they kept him in th kennel where he had to stay in his own blood. He tried to get out and tore one of his nail. No one will care about yout dog if you leave them there. PLEASE learn from my mistake. DO not use their boarding services.

Been using TWBs services since the first location opened and we now use three of the four! Staff are amazing and great to know they are giving attention to each and every pup in the building! Always super accommodating for our last minute boarding needs.

I love this place! They take such good care of our dog when she is at daycare for the day or staying there overnight for boarding. When my husband and I had our first baby, the team paid extra special attention to our dog since they knew she was experiencing some big changes at home. The team members are so good with animals and do a great job.
