Staff and Volunteers are friendly and dedicated. Pam in the thrift store is a wonderful human being. Peyton from the shelter is super nice and made me feel like I wanted to contribute my time as well. These people are doing great things for the lost animals of STL. Check them out. The store has great bargains and really cool stuff.

Shout out to Shari Bani at Stray Rescue for all of her experience with stray animals! She made the adoption wonderful! This is a great place to adopt a new family member from.

Very rude experience with just one phone call. Learning customer service skills is a very important skill in life. Since I was dealt with such rudeness, I went else where and adopted a beautiful new puppy! I also will take my donations else where from now on.

We have been long time financial donors for Stray Rescue. On 1 December we put in an application to adopt a cat (Vanna C). No response from Stray Rescue. I have left 2 voicemails as well. I am wondering if this is how they respond to others wanting to adopt strays? We also donate to Feral Companion and the Humane Society. We are extremely disappointed in our adoption attempt with Stray Rescue. Their apathy and lack of response is alarming. Maybe time to look at if our donation is being squandered and may be diverted to a more worthy rescue organization.

If I could give this place no stars I would! I have been getting the run around for well over a month now come December it will make two months from not only the people at stray rescue but from the fosters as well. Everybody has horrible customer service, they lie and make promises that they don’t keep. They don’t return calls or emails and when they do they rush you on the phone and don’t let you get a word in. I was suppose to do a meet and greet yesterday (Tuesday) for a puppy I applied for and then get a email saying we were gonna do after thanksgiving. I emailed the foster back and asked her which day after thanksgiving just for her to email me back and say we probably aren’t gonna meet I think I’m gonna go with somebody else. I use to volunteer my time to this place back when I was in high school hoping to adopt from there as an adult but noooo all they have done was given me and my family false hope. I would never recommend this place to anybody.

My husband and I adopted a dog from here. The staff was amazing about listening to our needs as a family with young children. They found us the most perfect dog ever! We are currently looking here again for a puppy this time. We love this place! Highly recommended for sure!

RUN THE OTHER WAY RUDE! Stray Paws Rescue was unable to answer questions about their services, when I asked in depth questions about adoption process. We are very blessed to be so well off financially. The woman that answered the phone was curt and bothered by all my inquiries when she didn't make things clear or "forgot to mention that." She point blank said "Ma'am, if money is the issue here, maybe this is not the best match for you." The question asked was, "Can you please break down the cost, so we understand where it goes?." I don't know about you, but that's a standard question to ask. After reading other reviews, this place just seems like a scam artists playground, taking advantage of good-hearted pet lovers. We have 4 close friends looking to adopt for the holidays, and told our circle to skip over this unsavery place, and spread the word. I will admit to the last laugh here. Only after stating who I was, did she try to change her tune. "Too late," I told her, "You should treat everyone with kindness and respect, whether they are the CEO or the garbage man. You never know who is on the other end of the phone." We may even consider taking it to a local news outlet to "out" them. I reached out to a few people that gave similar reviews, it seems that stray paws rescue will often state "We don't have you in our system." In order to make lower reviews seem made up or inappropriate, then have their own staff post 5 star reviews. These new found acquaintances even sent over proof of their experience. 2 sourses used to work for this establishment. Seems like an insightful news story to me.

Folks there seem generally loving towards the rescued animals. My sister and I volunteer and they need more.

I'm done wasting my time here. I used to love Stray Rescue; I fostered, I donated my time and supplies, I even applied for a job here. But time and time again, they have let me down. I called once about a litter of kittens that my ex friends mother was going to let loose into the street. The receptionist actually told me that she probably wasn't serious and people say that to get someone to take the kittens. With all due respect, you don't know these people. I do. I knew she was serious, and I hope those cats aren't all dead right now, because Stray Rescue did nothing. I fostered cats here, and I had a cat surrendered to me by another friend, I emailed Kaylee and asked if I could foster this cat through them and adopt him out. She emailed me back for a short time, and then completely ghosted. The reason I wanted to have him adopted through Stray Rescue was because they have a fairly safe and streamlined process, but now I will have to find another place to take him. Finally, I applied for a caregiver position and they took me in for an interview AND a working interview, only to ghost me afterwards. Noticing a theme here? I called, emailed, and left a voice mail multiple times. Nothing. The least they could do after everything was send an automated message saying I wasn't hired. They didn't pay me for my working interview, which is illegal. I'm not worried about the measly 22 bucks I would've made for it, I'm just so tired of being let down. Is this really how you run your business?

My wife and I had to have our two Westies put down due to age and sickness, we found a litter of puppies at stray rescue and my wife filled out an application and we were excepted and we were contacted by the foster family that are housing the puppies and she asked my wife numerous questions and toward the end of the conversation she implied we probably didn't qualify due to our "AGE". My wife is 70 & I am 73 we both are excellent health and very active, this place is always begging for fostering families or adoption families until they find out your age. I BELIEVE THIS IS KNOWN AS AGE DISCRIMINATION and Unlawfull! We will never donate, foster and or adopt from STRAY RESCUE of ST. LOUIS !

Found a puppy in out yard and they were the only one that would take her. She was sweet and we would not give her to a kill shelter. The associates were nice and helpful

Well organized and super busy. You can tell the people who work/volunteer there really care. There is a little shop with local merchandise and handcrafted animal items, worth checking out. While I was there a gentleman came in who a few years ago had to give up his dog, he was traveling through and wanted to see what happened. The lady shared that he did get adopted out. It made him happy to know.

Absolutely horrible experience from the application process through the screening with dealing with some woman by the name of Keisha and her supervisor. They lack customer service skills most likely their education level is somewhat challenged and after this experience I don't really believe they have the pets best interest at heart I would never donate one cent to this organization and it's a non profit so I hope they're aware that the board will most likely see this comment and I hope that they reach out to me which they won't but in closing I would like to say switch and bait that's the reputation that they have and that's what they should change their name to horrible place horrible horrible if I could give it a negative five stars I would

I had just recently lost a dog and decided just to go and see. Dip my toe in the adoption pool. The Stray Rescue process was so organic, friendly, low pressure, and easy. I met four wonderful dogs. With the fourth dog I had an instant connection. We were meant to be together. We'll both be eternally grateful. Thank you Stray Rescue.
