View the contract details I added in photos before you visit. 1. They do not answer questions about possible breed, or specifics to the animal you choose. There was no discussion of the dog whatsoever, and the process was nothing beyond a purchase transaction similar to buying a gold fish. 2. They can, and will sue you for rehoming your pet if needed. For "damages" to THEM even though they are not open 7 days a week. 3. Animal purchase fee is non-refundable period. Sold a sick pet, aggressive pet (neither of which will they disclose) it does not matter. I understand that they do not want to "label" their dog breeds on their site, but not that they still withhold this information during an adoption. It is best that you know what breed of dog you are welcoming into your home to properly care for them, and reduce potential returns. When asking any questions about specific dogs it was "smile, shrug, mmm mm mmm" which is intentionally deceptive. You have no idea where the dogs come from, their personalities, breed, or potential size when adopting. It's luck of the draw for both you, and the dog based on "how cute, here's several hundred dollars". Additionally, They will sell ANYONE a pet. They'll just keep selling the same dogs repeatedly if needed which will allow them to make a significant amount of money on a single troubled animal.

Penny had her check up and shot. They were very good with her. Unfortunately, I can't say the same about Penny. Maybe she remembers being there when she was a kitten.

This is a great place to adopt a pet. I've adopted 3 dogs from the APA, and they were all great additions to my family. They were very helpful by giving us options for healthcare, and they answered any questions we had. I would definitely suggest the APA for a pet adoption.

The APA is spectacular! They have been so caring and helpful assisting me with a few animals in crisis. I couldn't have helped these pets without the APAs support. The staff is fantastic.

APA SAVED MY CHRISTMAS!!! My boyfriend has been wanting a cat for a while, so I went to a different shelter in the area the day before Christmas to surprise him with a cat early (he was okay with me bringing one home at some point but didn’t know we could afford it, that was my surprise). The other shelter was a terrible experience, after the way I was treated I went to my car and just cried (I am not a crier). I drove everywhere from downtown to St. Charles County with no luck finding another open adoption center. I was even going to make a 6 hour round trip drive to Kentucky to try and save Christmas for my boyfriend. And then I found APA a couple hours before they closed. They BLEW ME AWAY with how willing the employees/volunteers were with helping me meet cats. They were so helpful, informative, and made sure you were leaving with the right friend, because getting a cat is a 15-20 year commitment, and they really realize that it’s important that you have the right friend for all that time. The cats also have a great environment and living space. I am SO grateful I found you APA. Thank you for saving my Christmas! And thank you for giving me our new baby, Cointreau!!!

We adopted a dog here. We loved this place. The people were kind. They knew the animals down to the smallest idiosyncrasy. They returned my call promptly. APA is middle of the road as far as adoption fees ($200). However, they keep a tight ship over there. So if that's how that money is spent, then the value is there. Worth it. They also sometimes have adoption specials (on pricing). We got our little monster, Pollux, for $25 during a promotion sponsored by Bissell. They also offer a "foster to adopt" program too. Call them and ask about it. Anyway, after Pollux is trained up in a few months, we will be back at the APA to pick up a friend/brother for him - obviously hoping for a look-alike, but not necessarily. We just want to bring home another dog to love. If I could,, I'd adopt them all.. They're ALL good dogs. Anyway, good job APA. Thank you! Ps and btw, in the pic, Pollux is on the right.

I love the APA. The staff is so friendly. I brought in some dog biscuits that weren't working for my pup. I was just going to drop them off, but the staff immediately recommended I go take a look at the puppies. It was the best reward!

Everytime I’ve been to APA or called APA everyone has been super helpful with my questions about dogs in general or about specific dogs that I was thinking about adopting and we’ve found the perfect dog in our life and her name is Aven so thank you for helping us find our little pupper ❤️

Worst place ever. Most unfriendly business. No help. No advice. It seems they don't know what their job is and what their purpose... Let me tell you people WHAT YOUR PURPOSE IS to help animals in need... And if you don't think you can do it, find something else to do.. It is a lot of jobs out there. Animals need love, care and compassion. FYI

Love this place! Please make adoption your first option when searching for a pet. This is a pic of our sweet boy Henry we adopted back in April. Hoping to adopt a dog from them today!

I am so impressed this this place!! Came on a weekend, only place I could find that was open and allowing people to view pets without an appointment or filling out an application first. They have the most wonderful staff and a super easy process for adoption. They have a special right now; $25 for adoption includes all current shots, neuter/spay, a bag of food, a bag of treats, 30 days of pet insurance or $10 amazon card, 14 days of vet care, and microchipped. Also gave us a really nice padded fleece cat pad-I about fainted!! Plus, my 3 year old loved looking at all the animals, and being allowed to visit with the kitten (without being hurried along) in the visit room. We could not be happier with their service. The animals are well taken care of, and every staff member appeared to really love the pets. It was a great experience, we really cannot thank you enough!!! PS-Nicely done marketing department-This bag I got is hysterical!!!
