I adopted my cat from here a month ago and was so happy with the entire process. The person helping me, Diane, was very kind and helpful. We did an interview with some paperwork and then she introduced me to some of the cats. She was very understanding of my indecisiveness, and very knowledgeable about all the cats. All of the staff seemed to really love these animals and I could not be happier.

Like many of the other 1 star reviewers, we are loving and experienced cat owners. But they kicked us out during a fairly intrusive and judgemental interview process. We'll find a cat somewhere that makes us feel more respected.

Animal House Cat Rescue is a awesome. The cats are kept in spacious areas with lots of enrichment. They are so relaxed and happy! You do have to be 24 to adopt a cat from there, so keep that in mind of you are looking to adopt.

The staff was very understanding of my feelings when my cat, Willow who was DOA and I became very emotional. They let me spend as much time with her as I wanted and even sent me a lovely sympathy card. That made my heart ???? happy! ????

I was expecting a facility not a house. Very easy adoption process. Several different animals within the home, allowing the cats the ability to bond with others. Shots were up to date. Thank you.

I adopted three kitties from Animal House. They take such loving care of all the cats that are lucky enough to be brought to their shelter.

This is the ultimate cat cottage! The staff is amazing and they are a no kill shelter... meaning they keep the animal until they find them a home and if the animal doesn’t find a home they keep and care for the animal until it’s last days. Cats and kittens in great rooms and some roam free downstairs. They even have a separate room for the the FIV and Fel V cats, which all need loving homes too. This place is amazing! Adopt don’t shop.

The ladies at Animal House are absolutely amazing. They helped me find my angel Spike who I've had for three years now and cherish every day. Such a great establishment. I highly recommend them for finding your precious companion.

Animal house was amazing! So many beautiful cats! The place is huge, and very clean. I had to wash my hands before meeting the kitty and appreciate how careful they are with their cats.

I visit their website often in search for another cat for our house hold. The problem is I can never get a single response from them. It’s very unprofessional. I watched a cat My wife and I really wanted to adopt for weeks with many emails sent and I never got a single response until one day I checked to see if he was still available and he wasn’t on the page anymore. I applaud what they do and why they do it. I just wish they would respond to people who want to adopt.

Read the fine print. You must be 24 years old to adopt here. I believe that kind of defeats the purpose of finding happy homes for animals in need, but this is not mentioned anywhere on branching adoption websites (pet finder, adoptapet.com, etc.). They also do not make exceptions if you're willing to prove you're financially stable enough and ready to own a kitten. Be sure to read the fine print before falling in love with one of their kitties. Very disappointed.

I have adopted 2 cats from here. I appreciate that they screen carefully before placing a cat and I approve of them setting standards for the cats such as no declawing or going outside. This just shows how much they love cats and are dedicated to the safety and well being of every cat they adopt out. Ty Animal House and keep up the GREAT work!!

They go above and beyond to enrich the environment for their cats.

Nice establishment. I would choose a local rescue like this one to donate because others are bigger and wider with national donations rolling in

Terrible and unprofessional experience. To put it simply we had arranged to adopt a cat, wound up liking 2 of them and told them we would have to think more on whether we wanted both or one. We ultimately decided on just one kitten and when we called Diane said "Maybe now isn't the best time for you to have another kitten." What a terrible way to end an already very intrusive process.

Very strange. I felt very uncomfortable with the amount of personal questions (including the last 4 of my SS number!) and the lengthiness of the process. I left halfway through the application which you have to fill out before you can even see the cats. I got my sweet kitty through the APA and would highly recommend it as an alternative.

A great place to adopt from. Very friendly, loving place. Although they have all ages of kitties...I found a beautiful sweet 9 year old kitty today. They were so excited I picked her. After I picked her, I learned... She will be coming to her very First home. They have had Ally since she's was just a couple days old. When they told me I had to hold back my tears. They have been taking great care of her all these years and because of their compassion & hard work, I get to bring her home 9 years later!!!

I have never been disappointed in any establishment who rescues animals until now. This organization cares more about upholding its strict and unfounded "rules" than finding good homes for animals. It's all about the "cause" rather than the animals. In my opinion, that's far worse to do to an animal than any of the reasons for which they claim to reject potential adopters. They claim to have a large selection of cats although you must fill out a questionnaire before you're allowed to see any of them. If they have as many as they say they do, it makes sense because they make it a point to not find anyone suitable to their unrealistic and unfounded standards to adopt them. Any of the cats there would have been lucky to have been adopted by my family. Don't waste your time here and do not support it.
