I called this veterinarian’s office simply to refill my pup's monthly allergy prescription after moving back into the area (which does not require lab work, keep in mind). Upon check in at the office, I requested on the intake forms to have all payment discussed and consented prior to services being made, only to walk out of there with over a $400 bill after unknowingly consenting to hundreds of dollars in lab work. I very clearly told the vet’s office that I was dissatisfied since I only came in for a prescription refill, and stated that I would not be returning. However, I reached out to have my dogs prescription refilled again since I have already given $400 something or other for the initial prescription, and I was treated very unprofessionally by the staff who had a VERY rude attitude and denied my request to refill the prescription unless I wanted to pay for ANOTHER exam to “re-establish a patient/client relationship”, aka- give them more money for unnecessary services and you’ll get what you want. There are so many other things that I could say about my experience with this place, but this establishment also threatened to respond to my review by suing me when I told them my I would leave a detailed review of my negative experience, so I will simply highlight the fact that this establishment only appears to care about getting your money, not the well-being of the animals.

We have been bringing our cat Mogget to Santa Fe Pet clinic for about 10 years. The Santa Fe team is amazing, specifically Dr. Wegele. When it came time for end of life care they came to my house and gave Mogget the dignity he deserved in death. He talked my family through everything and let us take our time. Just as wonderful as the reviews I read prior to our appointment. We have a fearful pup and received excellent patience and compassion as well as great tips. Wax not rushed. Taking all of our animals here from now on.

Be prepared to pay up they will charge you for everything, nice people and nice clinic but will charge to fill prescriptions for you or to administer eye drops during grooming (recommended for our pup from their referred ophthalmologists)

I must say I have taken all my pets here for past 20 years and they are simply the best around.

We bring all our dogs and cats here. They are so great with the animals and I truly believe they love my animals as much as I do. They are priced competitively with other quality animal hospitals. They have been great with long term scheduling and short notice things like a hurt doggie.

We were first time customers and this veterinarian treated us like family. Our dog had a immediate health issue and they were able to get us in same day I called. Our dog ended up needing surgery and received it during our visit. Veterinary stayed open past their Saturday noon closure to treat our dog. Santa Fe Pet Clinic definitely puts pets first.

Have been taking our pets there for 20+ years, they are the best and most caring staff around! They care about your pets and will do an excellent job treating them and giving you instructions. Our cat lived to be 19 and our dog 15, long healthy lives thanks to their help. They were very helpful and understanding in treating them at the end of their lives. Now caring for our new dogs and still excellent.

Dr and staff were very knowledgeable and courteous. Very pleased with care received. Disappointed in pricing structure no packages to reduce costs. Just the normal checkup was $271 without a rabies shot. Also charged $15 to write me a prescription because I was not buying heartworm medicine from them.

Dr. Wegele is awesome! He takes great care of our pets and is able to explain things in Lehman's terms while still keeping the important technical terms.

The Dr. & the staff were very kind & professional. They educated us on how to clean our dogs inner ears & how to give him ear drops. We were unaware that they also provided grooming services. So after his shots we let them groom our dog. I would NOT recommend the grooming services. Our dog is not neutered, as they were very well aware of & when we came back to get our dog they had explained to us that they got a "little" too close to the skin in some areas. On both of his testicles, (in all about 2" wide) they took OFF the skin leaving a huge wound. They also shaved too close under his belly and shaved off 2 of his lower nipples. They apoligized, of course, but we still had to pay for the really poor grooming service & we had a wounded dog. Definitely take your fur family member elsewhere for grooming services.

Excellent service. Made our pet very comfortable. Kind and caring. Helped us undetstand how to give medicine to our pet. Would higly recommend to everyone.

I would give them 100 stars if I could. You can not find staff any more caring or compassionate than here. I've been taking my pets for 12+ years.

Wonderful place to take your pets

I have been to many pet clinic's and I would have to say this pet clinic is by far the best. The Dr and the staff are super nice, compassionate and was very gentle with my cat. I recently had to have my cat put to sleep and they were so sympathetic and caring. They really seem to care. If I get another cat this is the vet clinic I will be going to. Thank you for all your kind and caring words while I go through this heartbreak of losing my cat. ❤

Genuinely concerned about your pets. Have had to call on short notice to get our dogs in for emergencies or sudden illness and they have always worked us into the schedule to be seen. The staff are all great!

Dr. Wegele, Dr. Taylor and the whole staff are top notch. I've never been to a pet clinic that genuinely cares as much as them. They take time and explain everything that is going on. Definitely recommend!

Dr. Wegele and all the staff are wonderful. Santa Fe Pet Clinic is by far the best place I've ever taken my cats. My whole family has taken our pets there for years. I called and asked for an appointment last minute and they fit me right in. My cat had been vomiting every day for a week so I was getting pretty concerned about him. Dr. Wegele gave him a shot and sent us with a few meds and he's healthy as ever now. Would recommend to everyone in the area.

This place is by far the most friendly vet I've been too. Being a pet owner my whole life causes me to be picky with the people I allow to take care of my animals. But this place I trust and respect. They handle my new kitten with love and care. I'd recommend this place to anyone!

Our Jack Russell, Skip, was hit by a car and the Santa Fe Vet Clinic literately saved his life. Dr. Wegele and his staff were compassionate and knowledgeable about his care. They have advanced medical technology and old-fashioned kindness! Thank you for the care that saved Skip's life and all four of his legs!

We have been going to Dr. Wegele for years and have never been disappointed! I unfortunately had some bad luck with another vet in the area not long ago, but they stablizied my cat so I'm appreciative of that, but for ongoing care I decided to head back to Dr. Wegele. He is so compassionate and knowledgable and is so great with my cat, who is not fond of other people outside his own house. They are a small clinic so everyone quickly becomes acquainted and shows care and compassion for your pet. We don't even live in Olathe anymore but make trips back from KCMO specifically to see Dr. Wegele. If you are looking for a vet in the area, give them a chance!
