Puppy Start Right was a great class. Staff is very professional and helpful. They really care about each pup and their progress. Levi and I miss it.

My puppy has been going there for almost 4 weeks and what an improvement!! She sits when told, waits by the door until you tell her ok. She comes when called ( most of the time) it's still a work in progress. She is not near as shy as she was and walks in every morning very willingly and has made a bunch of new friends! Would definitely recommend the puppy classes! The staff have been great and Moya has made a special friend who she dearly loves!

My dog didn’t learn anything. I don’t recommend this school. And be careful, because they use your private information after you finish that school.

Great dog training! Staff is very patient and understanding. We have had great results from obedience 1 class and are looking forward to starting obedience 2.

Meet Biscuit. Adorable demon turned best dog ever! She captured a rabbit today - came when called x2 and voluntarily gave up the rabbit she caught because we told her to leave it. She knows so many commands and it makes taking her places so much more enjoyable. I 10/10 recommend obedience 101 because it completely transformed my Demon Baby into a great dog. While she may still run out the front door, I know training is a long term process and she's making great progress and I'm so grateful for all the tools we learned together at DOG

Training classes are included with the purchase of our puppy from Petland. I am already irritated and probably wouldn't continue otherwise. To me they are all over the place, not very organized. I was told to hurry up and sign up for a class online because they were filling up fast, so we did that same day and picked the best available time (still not late enough to get there without having to take off work) We went to the orientation class and noticed they added some classes. I asked to be switched and was told no problem, just call tomorrow and let Jonathon know. So I called and was told they are overbooked for all classes. Oh really? how convenient! So basically the puppy package you get from Petland with all the "extras" included.....NOT WORTH IT!

Wow! I Love this place, we have 2 Aussies who were becoming a bit of a hand full, not bad but we needed to learn to walk without dragging me down the street. I will have to say we got way more then we expected, they trainers are knowledgeable, patient, and very professional. This is must for any new pup. They don't just train your pup, but they help by training or my case retraining the owner. The staff is friendly and knows our girls by name. The classes are small and individualized, you get a lot of one on one feedback. They will answer questions and help problem solve behaviors you are seeing at home. I really can't say enough good things about this place and it's great staff.

Jonathan was very patient and helpful. This class was very beneficial. Our puppy, Rex is very hyper and stubborn. My family has learned a great deal about training Rex through this 5 week course.

Hands down the best training group I have worked with. All the trainers are tuned in to each individual dog and owner, helping with specific needs. They have been patient and given so many tips and suggestions for my dog who was experiencing some behavior problems. I would recommend D.O.G. to every dog owner. I should add that they have a wide variety of classes - always something new and fun for both my dog and myself!

1st class in 101 was engaging, informative and fun. I'm confident this course will train me to be a more responsible dog parent while enjoying my pet for years to come.

The day training class was my 2nd experience at this facility. I took my dog to puppy 101. These are some of the nicest people I have ever met. The facility Is spotless and doesn’t even have an odor. I had high hopes for this training as my little dog is almost too much for me to handle physically but I am very attached to her. This was an extremely expensive class. They do all the work and then teach you how to carry on. We went 3 days/week for two weeks and the darn Covid thing made them close. Once they reopened we had 3 weeks to go and they allowed my dog to come 5 days that last week. I went back for two transfer visits which totaled about an hour for both visits. We only did loose leash walking and to come with a whistle. I am working everyday with her coming at the whistle and I think I am making some progress. It just hasn’t worked for me well at all. She still jumps up on people and some of the training was interfering with other important training. I am working with her some everyday still but it is not at all what I expected. I am so disappointed and I understand the interruption in service was certainly not anyone’s fault but certainly didn’t help matters any. It was a lot of money for me to spend for the return. I don’t think I set the bar too high, but don’t know. Would I recommend this for almost $1000.? Probably not.

Went to introductory class prior to starting obedience training for our strong willed canine daughter. Lots of great information that indicated a lot of needed changes on our part. Great initial class without pets just so we could listen. Instructors were very friendly, knowledgeable and informative. Looking forward to continuing.

The trainers are amazing and very helpful. Our little doggo has learned so much. When we had to miss a class, we were able to show up a bit early to our next class to get the last week's lesson and the trainers were so kind and helpful to get us up to speed. We love this place!

My husband and I are having a great time with our puppy class. We're learning a lot about training and (hopefully) our puppy is learning some things too. The staff is super nice and is happy to answer our questions. If you are in need of some great dog training classes, definitely check this place out.

I took my puppy to their class and I'm so happy the 2 guys working with us are great. Michael (trainer) is always there with helpful tips on dealing with a growing cane corso....I bought kylo from petland and he came with a free 6 week class. It's a 40minute drive from where I live and I will more than likely be signing up for the next class Kylo can take. I love the classes and trainers.

I have mixed feelings. I like the mission behind this group but my personal experience left me feeling disappointed and regretful. I took my puppy here for puppy class and wish I hadn't. The puppy class, namely the puppy free-play, were not handled well. Perhaps there was too much focus on obedience and not enough on early puppy development? I highly regret that I took my sensitive girl here for puppy class. The teacher seemed to think that just exposing the puppies in free play was good enough, instead of making sure positive experiences also occurred. Puppy play time was chaotic and stressful. There was little to no guidance or redirection from the trainers. I would NOT recommend taking their puppy class if you have small breed puppies or fearful puppies. Or, make sure you advocate for your puppy and don't force them to do anything they don't want to do. They won't "get over it" and you stand there chance of making the fear worse! I wasn't impressed with the class in general. I felt like the teacher was a bit aloof. Half way through Puppy 1, he introduced variable ratio reinforcement way before any of those puppies behaviors were ready. He began to ask for duration of the behaviors when some of the puppies (and handlers) were still trying to figure out what the cues were in the first place. I don't believe we were exactly told how to introduce duration either. Just suddenly asked to hold a sit until the timer went off. Instead of focusing on expecting obedience level training for our Puppy 1 students, I think the class as a whole could had focused on more appropriate subjects. There was no people socialization/handling, no introduction to new stimili (sounds, textures, objects.) I believe my puppy would have been better off socially if I hadn't taken her to this class. Well, I blame myself too. I wish I had the knowledge and experiences I have now when she was in this class. Instead of injuring her trust in me by not helping her when she asked, I could have been building her confidence by showing her that she can leave when things become over whelming. She was never physically harmed, I should say. It has taken a lot of creativity and research for me to begin to counter some of this fear that was made worse from the chaos during puppy free play. I've also had to work on rebuilding her trust and confidence in me. This all being said, I want to emphasize that this was my first and only time going to this group for classes. My experience could be different than someone with a larger and more confident puppy. My puppy is a small-minded dog and is 'soft' and sensitive. I did not like how Puppy 1 was taught either way. It could have been simplified with more emphasis on early puppy development. Based on my personal experiences, I want to give a two or three star. However, I greatly admire the type of training that D.O.G. advocates. They appear to be postive- reinforcement based and force-free. They are active in dog events. They appear to offer many neat and interesting classes that I would still consider trying out. They offer things that many of the local groups don't offer, like obstacles and agility. Because of my experience with only one class, and because of what they promote, I believe a 4star is an acceptable rating. (Also, sorry for any weird errors... I was fighting my phone's autocorrect the whole time!)

I was originally interested in Dog Obedience Group from the positive reviews I read online. I was very excited for my dog to have the opportunity to be introduced to new ideas and teaching methods. I contacted the company asking about the July schedule in late May and was told it would be posted the first Friday in June, but it was not posted until the following week. After the schedule was posted, I enrolled in the first level obedience class. Prior to the class, you have to attend a $25 introductory class that they only address very basic ideas and issues such as nipping, jumping, and going to the bathroom inside the house, along with having a focus word and saying "yes" before giving a treat. A total waste of money and time for anyone experienced with dogs or who does not have a puppy. I was still very excited for the obedience class; however my hopes were cut short. I attended three classes before asking for a prorated refund for the remaining three. In the class, the dogs are promoted to not interact at all and they were never given a chance to meet each other. This troubled me since my dog had been attacked and in fights with other dogs before I adopted him, but since then I have made such a strong and continuous effort to allow him to socialize with as many dogs as possible. He did not understand why he couldn't meet the other dogs in the class. My dog has been to downtown Chicago and goes Stand Up Paddle boarding with me; he is very adventurous. However, I have never seen him have as much anxiety anywhere as he did in the facility. It was obvious that he did not like it there, but received minimal help on how to keep him engaged rather than wanting to crawl to the door. Class was dismissed at least 5 minutes early each week. With the final class I attended, the structure was disorganized near the end and it was obvious the trainer had no desire to be there any longer. Overall, I was optimistic about the class, but turned out to be very disappointed. At least I can say that I was able to pick up my refund check the day that I requested it.

I took the Dog 101 class as a for the dog obedience one class for me and my dog. The instructor seemed very knowledgeable and the staff was very helpful. The location is easy to find and the building is clean with a variety of training equipment for the dogs.
