I do their landscaping but they are always super friendly to me and the customers who come in. I can say with certainty that they will treat your pets like family.

The NICEST people. My husband and I were looking for a new vet once we moved to the area and we have found the perfect place. Caring, knowledgeable, and helpful.. all the things you could want in a vet. Thank you so much!

Great with my dog / good people / they work hard to work with you on anything. The primary vet is awesome! Treats our dog like her own. We've also boarded our dog there many times. She always seems loved and well cared for.

1000000 Star rating!!! This Doctor and Staff is the standard that all Veterinary clinics should meet. Doctor Benefield has saved so many of my fur babies from the brink of death. She and her wonderful staff work so hard during the weekends and through after hours ( which they aren't open of course this is their personal time) to make sure the animals live and are just well taken care of. They show more care and compassion in treating my fur babies as part of my family which seems to be lacking in most clinics.

Dr. Caldwell is amazing! She went above and beyond to make sure my dog was well taken care of when my dog was sick. She answered all the questions I had and helped to get my dog the medications she needed even after hours! I highly recommend using Dr. Caldwell!

Our larger breed dog is scared of alot...thunder, rain, car rides, etc... but when we go out of town, there is one place he will jump in the car for....village vet! He stays there when we are out, and I always, as does he, appreciates the warmth and caring of the staff.

Wonderful staff always gets my panicky Pit ready for my cross country road trips. He does well in town but once hitting the Interstate, he can't make it 30 min before he has severe anxiety. They allowed him to have Trazodone instead of Acepromezine at my request. Ace calms their body, not their mind so I opted for alternative since Benadryl doesn't phase him. Thank you! Will visit again when we come back through. Happy Furbaby Mom to Sandler (pit) and my 3 little rascals older small dogs and our 18yr old Calico Dixie! ❤❤❤

Dr Caldwell and staff were so nice and took their time with our puppy and listened to our questions without rushing us. So thrilled we found this office for our new family edition.

Brought my daughters 18 month old Morkie named Sadie in on a Thursday morning after persistent vomiting, and loss of appetite. She was given fluids and kept overnight. Said they did X-rays, but it didn’t really show much. Was able to bring her home Friday afternoon, but told she still wouldn’t eat, but they thought after she got home that she would. Paid $274 at this point no problem. They also said she had some sort of infection that she was fighting, and her kidney enzymes were elevated. Was told if she still hadn’t eaten by Saturday to call, and they would give her something to make her eat. She still would not eat on her own so we took her back, and the vet met my wife there, and gave Sadie and enema, watched her potty a little pretty much like diarrhea type, and she sent her on her way. I had to force her to eat and drink the rest of the weekend, so we called again on Monday, and was told to bring her back in. Called to check on her at 4:30pm Monday, and was told they had been watching her all day, but the vet had appointments all day so she hadn’t done anything with her yet. The vet gave her more fluids, and kept her overnight again. She called us Monday evening, and informed us she gave her some Barium(not sure of spelling) that would make things show up more on an X-ray, and sent us pictures of something stuck in Sadie’s stomach, and said she needed to do surgery Tuesday to get it out. I asked if the risk, and she said there was always risk, but she should be fine. She performed the surgery, and said it was a bunch of human hair, but that once she was in there her pancreas, and kidneys were in really bad shape, but she was ok when she came out of surgery, but then her kidneys started shutting down, and my little girls always super healthy, rambunctious 18 month old baby was dead. I just can’t help but think if the correct steps had been taken 5 days earlier when I first brought her in that she may still be with us. And when I walked in to pick up Sadie so I could take her home and bury her the woman at the front desk says to me she’s sorry. I said so am I, I can’t believe I’m about to have to go tell my little girl that her dog is dead. She then immediately says well she discounted the bill some, but you owe us $572. It was literally the most insensitive thing I’ve ever experienced in my life. So i feel our pet didn’t get the care she needed, and I spent over $800 in 5 days, and I just buried Sadie in my back yard today. I realize that terrible things happen sometimes, and I feel like Dr. Benefield was very nice, and caring, but feel my puppy was completely misdiagnosed, and we lost her as a result. I’ll never recommend this place. My family is heartbroken. Update: I have spoken with another licensed practicing Veterinarian, and while obviously anything is possible, and there will never be any way to know if Sadie would have succumbed if the surgery she needed had been performed days earlier as it should have been, I personally think that she would have. They said with the blockage in her stomach that the infection she had just stayed in her poor little body, and ravaged her organs. That’s why her pancreas, and kidneys were in such bad shape once she had her surgery 5 days after her initial visit, and she just was too far gone to recover. They also said that the continuing not eating was a absolute sign that measures should have already been taken to find the real issue. Dr. Benefield told me that she would always second guess what she had done for Sadie, and Ma’am if you read this I want you to know that you absolutely should do that. I want you to know that I 100% in my heart believe that my little girls dog lost her life because of mistakes that you made. I want to tell anyone that reads this that if you value your pets then I would not ever entrust their care into this veterinarian. I am not saying she isn’t a very sweet caring lady that loves the animals because I believe she is, but after what has happened in our situation the mistakes that were made cannot be tolerated. Stay away.

Very disappointed today with my experience today. I called to get an appt for a dog we rescued that really needed medical care was told sorry we close at noon and she is booked. I have been taking my pet there for six years I really was expecting a little more empathy and help. Was then told we can try and fit U in but we close at 12.said my husband who is leaving his employment can only come at lunch time was told sorry best we can do is tomorrow at 330. Again really thought my vet would have made an effort... Very Disappointed.

Have visited 3 times and nothing but positive things to say about doctor and staff. She really spends time on you without a rush. Have only been in for puppy vaccines, so not able to attest to how they handle emergencies but if it's anything like how she handles my baby pup I'm sure I'd be well-pleased.

Dr. Benefield has been very responsive and compassionate about the needs of my terminally ill family pet. I appreciate her input and advice during this difficult time. Her clinic is neat and organized and exam rooms are clean and comfortable. The staff is friendly and well organized. I highly recommend Dr. Benefield and Village Veterinary Hospital for veterinary services.

I tried a total of 5 vets when I moved to the area. I had two elderly cats and one was going downhill. One vet wouldn't touch Zoe (16 years old) because she was disoriented and angry. One vet gave her a bunch of vaccinations charging plenty of money and said she was fine, just old. However, I knew she wasn't fine. So I brought her to Village for another opinion and Dr. Benefield took her time with her, physically evaluated her, and just observed her moving about the exam room. Then she gave us our options stating we could run a bunch of tests but it didn't make sense at this point. I continue to see her for our other cat and new dog. She always seems to take the reasonable approach and tries things to see if they work before charging you. I highly recommend Village Veterinary Hospital.

I tried the Village Veterinary Hospital after looking for a new vet in Spanish Fort. I was extremely pleased with the staff, the brand new facility, and the reasonable prices. Dr. Susan Benefield is very knowledgeable and she explains things in a way that anyone can understand. Unlike some vets I have been to, I feel like she doesn't push for unnecessary procedures or tests, instead she clearly explains the situation and all the options available. More importantly, she shows true compassion for both pets and their owners. She went above and beyond to accommodate me when my cat became terminally ill and eventually passed away. I have already brought all of my pets to see Dr. Benefield, and I definitely recommend that any pet owner do the same. If you do, you will leave having found yourself a new trusted vet.
