Dr. Gaskins has always been our vet. He is loving and caring for our animals. When we were living in Peru, South America we could text or call him with questions and he would respond with solutions. Now that we live in Northern Wisconsin he still helps with good advice. There is no other Vet we would use.

This guy here don’t like pit bulls he had a bad attitude he knows it all cuz he been doing this for 37 years lol very bad customer service talk to people like kids I’ll never go there again

I truly was impressed and enjoyed taking my dog to Dr. Gaskin! He and Alex are both great with him (he’s a hyperactive sweetie). As a medical professional I appreciated their extensive knowledge and holistic way of caring for my dog. It’s hard to impress me and they certainly did. Won’t/can’t take Great Danes. Figured others should know before they try in a bind. Only vet around here not booked out weeks, but can not accommodate for large breed dogs. Even for a urine sample unfortunately. :(

Veterinarian was extremely rude and had very poor dog handling skills. He did not let my dog smell him at all, yet kept approaching him and towering over him all while speaking incredibly loud, later admitting this was done on purpose to see how my dog would react. He has an aggressive personality that intimidated my dog, and then blamed me for my dogs reaction (growling). He continuously criticized my dog and had no patience. If you are looking for a vet that actually cares about animals and cares about making your pet comfortable, I would recommend finding another vet. MSVS is one of those hidden gem practices. While unassuming on the outside and inside, the vast pool of knowledge of Dr. Gaskin and Alex Schmoll just shines. And they like cats. Really, really like cats. They take an entire hour to meet their 4-legged patients and those patients receive the most thorough exam I’ve ever witnessed. The respect and care they gave to my geriatric cats was exactly what I’d been searching for. Not once did I hear ‘well, they’re twenty so there’s only so much we can do’. Instead, a plan was put forth and they lived out the rest of their lives in quality and comfort. I still have a 22 year old and the pain management for his old bones keeps him happy. When the time comes to say good-bye to him, I know he will die with grace and pain free like his siblings euthanasia. Dr. Gaskin is a firm believer his patients shouldn’t ever be in pain. Ever. I appreciate that pick ups are scheduled. You’re not interrupting another clients’ time, nor are you left waiting for a long length of time. The checkouts after dentals and surgeries are very thorough and are not rushed. Call ahead for med refills and they’re waiting for you. It’s a clinic that works well on common courtesy, as most do, however, this is a small operation and it is vital to recognize there is only so much two people can do. Plan ahead in all things, because it has been my experience they will do their ultimate best to make things work and in my experience it has. I’ve had different experiences at different kind of clinics. The fancy ones, the corporate ones, other small clinics and while all have had something to offer I didn’t ever get the sense they had the time to get to know the cats. At MSVS they take the time. Probably to the determent of their bottom line, but as a client, I’ll keep coming back because they do take that time.

Dr Ron Gaskin is an absolute delight! He tested each animal with so much love and patience. He is the best vet I've ever worked with. Dr Gaskin and Alec are outstanding together and really share their knowledge with everyone who walks through the doors. The prices are very reasonable for the care and attention you get. I can't recommend this clinic enough!

judgemental unprofessional and conceded from day one, if i could post this without stars i would. Hung up on me when i called to check about my missed appointment, interrupts when i kindly said my voice mail was full. said "my decision is final good bye" i called back to obviously speak my opinion and he wouldnt hear my side, wouldnt let me talk, wasnt apologetic about my past experiences, just shamed me, basically said its my issue.. told me the reminder post cards he sends me are a waste and im losing him money. Any health care professional would never treat people, never make someone feel less than, and never make someone feel judged. its a golden rule that the patient is always right you never act out or aggressively, this is NO way to run a business and he will be losing business from not just me but my family, as this is not the firs time this "doctor" has been arrogant, and disrespectful. As a health care professional myself i believe its important and my obligation to share en experience this ludicrous in a professional community. if someone i my office did this, it was be termination, i couldn't imagine any of my doctors doing this. Clearly his unprofessional response to MY OPINION is a good impression of this experience and his business techniques.

I have never met such a caring vet practice that took the time to educate me on what my cat needs to live a long and healthy life. I was surprised at how comfortable my cat was with the staff and the prices are so affordable!

We were very busy with a 3 year old child and we did not go for a year. He said " he cat see us because state law says after a year it ends the client relationship" that sounds like bull... he is stuck up and high on himself. DONT GO

This is absolutely the best place I've ever taken my pets to for veterinary care. It's quiet, without other animals in the waiting area so my cats aren't as stressed out upon arrival and the time dedicated to them and to me as their caretaker is unparalleled. I love being able to call with questions and feel like I'm getting the best possible answers because of the explanations they give with them.

Been bringing my cats here for 20 years. Excellent Dr. and support staff. Ive noticed through the years they have always been advanced on treating issues like for example...Mainstreet Vet was cleaning pets teeth before other vets even mentioned anything about pet preventative dental.They are also advanced in treating feline diabetes through diet and by diet I dont mean they push the garbage prescription diet they teach you what your pet SHOULD be eating. Anyway a great place to bring your pet. They actually CARE!

Excellent experienced, up-to-date and passionate about providing quality care for pets. I wish I could find a human doctor this good.

The Main Street Veterinary team has been caring excellently for our three cats for some nine years. We have gotten great advice and referred MANY clients to them. The vet techs are wonderfully gentle with our kitties and knowledgable. Alex has been at the practice for all this time and is way beyond the skills of a Vet tech, and I would wish he could study to become a veterinarian himself. Dr Gaskin means well for pets and has vast amount of knowledge. He will go against the establishment if it is in the interest of animals. After an display of rude and unprofessional behavior today, we can no longer tolerate his more unusual way of interacting with clients. If you care as much about your fur babies as we do, a veterinarian plays a trusted key role. Today sadly this role came to an abrupt end and we find ourselves to move to another provider than incorporates all. My ratings: Five stars - Knowledge /Caring for the animal/Vet techs Five stars - Equipment Two stars - Veterinarian Communication with clients Two stars - Clinic overall environment Follow-up from the “wife” based on owners comments: 1. I had no issue waiting for the meds and was in no hurry. The owner of the “dog emergency” coincidently was also waiting next to me while another dog had his routine nail clipping done and was NOT seen immediately as stated. 2. The decision to switch to another vet was solely due to unprofessional and condescending emails from Dr.Gaskin. Very unbecoming for being a trusting long-term client, having spent well above $11,000 over the years for our cats care. 3. Private email address? This is the only email address Dr.Gaskin has used to correspond with us for many years (it is the same address as the veterinary office website) I stand by the review I provided, even though the last sentence of the most recent email from you can only be meant in a hurtful way. To the readers of this review, we are trying to keep our 19 year old cat alive as long as we can and we would not think that the following statement from Main Street Veterinary Services is appropriate: "I think you would be more worried about how you are going to keep (cat name) alive now…

We have been going to Dr. Gaskin for almost 7 years. We drive over an hour because he is that good. He and his staff are very knowledgeable and keep you informed of the new best methods. He is very straight forward and that is much appreciated. If you are looking for a vet to tell you that you are the greatest owner, it's probably not Ron. He is going to tell you what you are doing wrong, but isn't that what you want from your vet? We always know that we are going to get excellent care and that he will treat our animals as if they were his own. I sometimes feel guilty because after living in California, I feel that I am underpaying for services. As long as Main Street Veterinary Service is open, our pets will be patients.
