Took our cat there one time to get her ears checked because she was always so itchy and with 4 vet techs in the room, they tried to get her out of her carrier. Somehow they couldnt handle her and she bit a vet tech hard enough to break a canine tooth. They didnt even notice until I pointed out that her bloody tooth was hanging out of her mouth. So they took her in for immediate surgery to remove her tooth. They ended up removing a bunch of teeth because they said she had a problem where her teeth weren't strong enough. In retrospect I feel it was an attempt to cover their unprofessionalism as she hasn't lost any teeth since (been over a year), but now has no more canines because they pulled them out. I wont trust them with any pet again.

My cat (love her) is such an anxious old woman. I myself had to take a Xanax on both of our behalfs pre-vet. The vet and vet tech made Sophie (cat) feel so loved and comfortable, she even didn't give me the cold shoulder when we got home. They went above and beyond, were so gentle and loving, and made sure I fully understood our options and costs.

Over the last seven months, we have received an inconsistent quality of care and communication for our furry family member through St. Paul Pet Hospital. While our initial visit with our puppy seemed great, we quickly realized that the staff does not communicate with each other and as a result he experienced a lot of pain and lack of love from the staff. Most recently, our puppy was neutered here. After putting down a down payment to reserve the date (standard procedure), we received a call two weeks prior to the appointment that he was scheduled at the location that doesn’t perform surgeries. We rescheduled for a few weeks later when they had another opening. On the day of his surgery, the surgeon never talked to us. The vet tech sent him home before he could eat and was in very poor condition and extreme pain. He had to be carried into our home. The stiches were not removed correctly a week later and required three additional visits and a later infection that had to be treated. Of course, this was all paid for by us and none of it covered by the clinic for the lack of communication or quality of care amongst their team. This is one of many examples of the lack of treatment he received. We have chosen to change clinics because we see our dog as a part of our family. I would recommend families to do their research before choosing this practice as the quality of care was missing from our end-to-end experience.

Two of my cats have received services from this location. One required stitches which the cat ripped out, the other was diagnosed with extreme chin acne. The clinic saw the cats several times each, phenomenal experience throughout. The staff was attentive to our pets needs, even squeezing in appointments with little notice. Dr. Melinda Lecheler is a knowledgeable veterinarian, assisting with the chin acne. She detailed the treatment options, associated price and the likelihood of the method resolving the issue. Upon the biopsy results, Dr. Melinda provided layman explanations and clear instructions. I sincerely appreciate the help of this clinic to ensure the health of my pets.

Hey, remember when you diagnosed my 10 year old dying dog with arthritis, when he actually had a broken leg. You prescribed him dog Tylenol, and had him walk around on his broken leg in severe pain for some of his final weeks. Worst part, zero accountability- you all did literally nothing to rectify the situation. No refund, no next visit discount- I just had to pay $500 for a mis-diagnosis that caused my dog significant discomfort/pain at the end of his life. Been like two months, still makes me mad. You all are shameful.

I had an urgent issue with our cat. They arranged their schedule to take care of the cat. Everything was very professional, the way you would like.

After 9 years of receiving mediocre treatment at Banfield, I finally chose to switch to a local vet. A high school acquaintance recommended St. Paul Pet Hospital and switching has been the best decision I've ever made. Everyone is super nice and courteous. The follow up and care for my pet has been amazing so far and I truly appreciate it!

The best and friendliest pet clinic in twin cities. My cat is not the friendliest and somehow the doctors at this clinic made him accept the care and meds while keeping him clam. And when he got a really bad puncture wound, they made sure that he got admitted the same day and continued checking on his health until he fully recovered. Highly recommend and can't thank them enough.

I’ve taken my kitten here several times for his vaccinations and checkups, and everyone at this clinic is super nice. However, I do think there are some communication/organization problems - once, they charged me for a vaccine and discharged him, only to call me an hour later and tell me that there had been a mixup and the vaccine hadn’t actually been administered. They were very apologetic, but I don’t like thinking what could have happened if this was a vital medical procedure or something. The most recent visit, my vet recommended flea and tick prevention for my kitten, who is indoors only. He said the tech would give me a quote on the cost so I could decide, but I got a call later only to find out that they’d already done the flea and tick prevention and I was being charged for it. Maybe these issues wouldn’t happen in a non-COVID context, when I could actually be in the clinic, but they’ve been more than a little frustrating.

My dog and I recently moved to the area and decided to try out this clinic since it was so close by. Dr. Abby was so kind and helpful. When I had trouble finding a medication prescribed by my old vet, Dr. Abby and her staff went above and beyond to help me get it. I would definitely recommend it!

I honestly cannot say enough positive things about St. Paul Animal hospitals - both locations! I have only been a total of three times but will continue to visit them for the foreseeable future. They have seen my bunny and two chihuahuas. Just this week two of my dogs underwent dental procedures that were long over due. I have been a bit nervous about the procedure, especially in regards to one of my boys. Dr. Eric and Dr. Kari could not have been more informative, kind, easy-going, warm, patient - seriously the adjectives can go on and on. I felt ALL of my questions and concerns were addressed (which, with me, can be a lot haha) and, as a result, was put to ease. There are always risks associated but I left my dogs for their procedure feeling so comfortable and calm knowing the kind of hands they were in. Everyone I've interacted with from the vet techs, receptionists, and other vets (s/o Dr. Abigail) have been just as fantastic! Everyone has been so kind, fun, loving, knowledgeable, and attentive. What it comes down to - it's abundantly clear they really, truly care. You will never feel like a nuisance here and your beloved pets are not "just another client/appointment". They follow up and follow through. Thank you for everything, St. Paul Pet Hospital!

Had a pet emergency on a Saturday morning when my baby girl busted her nail. This team was AMAZING! From the first phone call to the discussion with the vet, Dr. Kari, the whole team was kind, reassuring, and knowledgeable. They were able to fit my dog in and care for her. Can’t wait to make this my primary care vet clinic.

Moved from Illinois to St. Paul about a month ago and used the google reviews to find a new vet for my pup to be acclimated with. They have definitely exceeded my expectations. Friendly, knowledgeable and very polite. I’m so glad that I’ve found a vet that I feel with take care of my dog as if he was a part of their family! Every question that I had was answered and they even gave me some recommendations to improve his overall health. The staff treated myself and my pup with respect and made me feel more than comfortable, especially considering I couldn’t actually go into the building. Thanks so much St. Paul Pet Hospital - Highland! I’m very grateful for all the help I received for our visit!!

I was extremely impressed with all staff members during our first visit to St Paul Pet Hospital. Our aging Springer Spaniel has multiple issues. Dr Ruhland was thorough, sensitive to our dogs high level of anxiety, and very knowledgeable and highly experienced in addressing her needs. Thanks St Paul Pet Hospital! It's great to have in the St. Kate's neighborhood!

Our dogs have been seen by St. Paul Pet at the cathedral hill location for 7 years and we were very excited to see this wonderful crew come to Highland. Our first visit was friendly as we’d expect and the building is beautiful inside. Most importantly though our dog was treated so well. Happy to have a location closer to home and highly recommended to all.

We had a great experience at St. Paul Pet Hospital. I brought my dog in for shots and an exam. The people were friendly and accommodating and I knew that when Dr. Baker sat down on the floor to examine my dog that she was in good hands. Prices were reasonable and I felt no pressure to add any additional services, which I appreciated. Overall, a very positive experience. We'll be back!

My husband and I recently moved to the Highland area and were in need of a new vet. We had been with our previous vet for nearly 10 years and wanted to find a new clinic here that we could trust with our pets. …

When we got our new dog, we wanted to find a vet in the neighborhood and were so happy to find St. Paul Pet Hospital! On our first visit with our Vinni, both the vet tech and Dr. Baker were great with her and where thorough in answering our questions. We like that they have the wellness plans which let you budget your standard annual visit and shots.

We love St. Paul Pet Hospital, and love them even more now that they're right around the corner from our home at their new location. I cannot recommend the staff more. At this point, we've had an appointment with every single vet and each one treats Mavis with the utmost respect and care. You can just tell how much they love animals. They're warm, friendly, inviting to the pet parents too! I also love how transparent they are about pricing. Definitely the best animal care out there!

We needed an appointment quickly and St. Paul Pet Hospital came through for our dog. We were greeted and welcomed at the door. The exam was efficient, thorough, and completed with care and respect for our pet. The next steps were explained and we were on our way to recovery. A follow up appointment a few days later ensured that our dog was healing well. A great experience!

We have been going to the St Paul location for about a year and we have loved the vets and staff. We are closer to the Highland location and we're excited when they opened this office. The vets and staff are just as good and the location is ideal. We will definitely keep going to Saint Paul pet hospital!!

NUMBER ONE VET IN THE TWIN CITIES. The staff and doctors are so amazing. The environment is awesome. They truly care for your pet as their own. They get to know you and your pet on a personal/name basis. Zax has been attending since he was just a little 8 week old pup. I wouldn’t go anywhere else.

I’ve been to many vets as I have had animals for the past 12+ years. My experience was great! It was fast, professional, and much less expensive than I expected. I look forward to St. Paul pet hospital become my vet.

They were so sweet to my pup! Now that my 7-year old Aussie is a senior doggo, we have to up her preventative healthcare game. They helped determine best course of action so she can continue to live life as a princess. ????????????
