I’ve had very mixed feelings about this place over the years but after my last experience I have decided to avoid this place if possible. Recently my pitbull who is paralyzed from the waist down came down with an infection in his legs, I …

This review is for Dr. Jackson. My little Maltese ended up needing bilateral luxating patella surgery and I was so anxious. I trusted Dr. Jackson immediately (I was actually able to come in and meet him during the consult) and he took great care of Dennis. He was great with follow up and was able to help us with a complication that was out of his control. I would recommend Dr. Jackson to everyone. The only negative experience was when we had a horrible care coordinator initially who didn’t follow through with anything that she said she was going to do. Once we got a new care coordinator, everyone was wonderful, including the emergency staff since we had to call there to check in on him during his overnight stay and due to not being able to go in. All of the vet techs that I was able to talk to knew my dog and gave me specific information regarding how he was doing.

saved my dogs life! staff was super nice and caring and the dr was informative on what they had to do. I just wish they would have allowed people inside like most other places at the time.

I chose to use this clinic after a positive experience with the BluePearl Golden Valley location. My cat was showing symptoms of a UTI so I got him over to the BluePearl in Eden Prairie and had him checked in at 10:18AM. The vet called me at 10:32AM to verify me there was no blockage, so they will proceed to test his urine for UTI. Received a text at 11:02AM with a treatment plan/estimate and immediately (11:03AM) respond "Yes" to acknowledge. No response so I call the office at 11:12AM and they tell me they were still waiting for my response, after verbally responding "yes" she says they're getting his treatment plan ready. I call at 11:56AM for an update to which the nurse responds they're just wrapping up and it should be 15-20 minutes before they call to let me know he is ready. I received emailed discharge paperwork at 12:02, but still no phone call by 12:40 so I call the office again to find out he is ready but they chose not to call me? I head to the front door to pay my $400 bill and they make me stand in the 22 degree weather for another 20 minutes before they brought my cat out all wrapped up in a towel because he got "feisty" mind you this cat has only every hissed 2-3 times in his life and it's always involved dogs. I left today feeling very taken advantage of and will not be returning to a BluePearl clinic after this experience. I learned my lesson, and hope I can save someone else the hassle as well.

We brought our cat, Bamboo, to BluePearl the other night to be put down because he was sick with leukemia. The staff there were truly incredible with helping us during a tough decision. Mackenzie and Dr. Horton were very sympathetic and were doing their absolute best with our poor kitty. They really cared for us and for our cat and we cannot thank them enough for making this experience a little less painful.

Do not go here unless you have a ton of money. I'm below poverty level. My dog (ESA) had emergency surgery. Almost 7k. I'm only giving two stars because of Dr Yu's highly skilled operation. Go to Univ of MN instead.

Very happy with this location and there services. The parents dog needed a specialist to figure out puppy health, and was able to on first visit. Since then: puppy is doing so much better. Months before that visit: gf took my dog in and was able to get issues resolved first visit as well. BluePearl: keep doing great work. Will be back if anything ever comes up as well as will let's others know how good your company and its services are!

We took our dog here with extensive information on her current status and history. After nearly three hours they called us to tell us they saw her and couldn't give any specific information on her status. She went in at 6 am puking blood and leaving with antipuking shot and fluids. They stated that it's not too concerning that she's puking, and couldn't confirm it's blood since they did no tests. I couldn't even enter the building to verify they did anything more then kennel her. I left with 0 answers and a 400 dollar vet bill. Had I known that I would have a bill for them to give me 0 information I would have waited for my regular vet, as I would highly recommend anyone else to do when their pet is sick at 4 am.

I did NOT get my $200 worth! If I could I would give them no stars!! All they care about is the money! I took my dog up there today to get her nose looked at because it has been bleeding off and on! They told me I had to have a CT and a scope done but they couldn't do that until they did blood work. I know that's normal but for all of that I could have my cows checked 2x from my local vet that comes to the farm! The dr didn't even look at her before she started talking about money! She only spent 15 minutes tops with us! When she did look at her she just listened to her heart and that was all! Hardly look at her nose only gave her a quick look and was like this is what I have to do! I have alot better service from my local vet and the vet I took her to before bringing her to blue pearl!

Blue Pearl has done a great job providing emergency services and complex care for my dogs over the past several years. I have found their vets and staff to be highly competent and compassionate

The BluePearl pet hospital is 2nd to none! They have such wonderful, sweet and well trained staff! I couldn't be more happy with the service they provided to our dog and us. They really take the time with each client and make them feel as if your animal is in the best hands possible. They promptly kept us updated even though they are so busy and dealing with so much. What a wonderful and professional establishment! Keep up they great work and service BluePearl! You guy's are great!

Saved my girls life❤️ Our experience in such an awful emergency was amazing to say the least. Our lab needed emergency surgery after a large mass was found in her abdomen the night prior, our vet got us an ultrasound and they found she had a strangulated lipoma. They were excellent with communication, they worked as a team and yes it was a lot of money but you can’t put value on quality care. Huge shout out to the blue Pearl team from the receptionists, to the radiologist to the overnight workers to the doctors & techs (dr Bishoy, Amy, Sarah!) all of you made damn sure my girl came back home, we are forever grateful! You all are heroes????????❤️ Thank you for your top notch services!!

We received great care for our cat here. They saw us quickly on a busy, Friday night, and provided us with everything we needed: pain medication, antibiotics, and after-care instructions. Would recommend.

Such great people who go above are beyond. They helped my dog get better and took the time to explain the options and answered all my questions.

These folks are professional, informative, quick, and reliable. Could not have asked for a better experience. Our male cat had bladder crystals which are life threatening. BluePearl got him in, performed the treatment, and got him out within approx. 4 hours. Molly was especially delightful on the phone and was a true partner in the process. I'd recommend BluePearl until my face turns blue!

Dr Colette Friendenson was condescending and rude in her behavior about my dog. He had fungal Pneumonia and we were discussing options and said my dog was overweight and it not like he has thumbs to open the refrigerator. He has a thyroid issue and is overweight. She had no history with Max and to top it off our charges were almost $500 more than quoted. They only love money not your pets. They also did not give him his first dose of meds she said they would give him and gave us no clarifications to discharge instructions because we didn’t pay for the whole recommended care plan.

I can't attest to their service itself. I can't attest to the pricing beyond $183 fee up front to see your pet. I can say, however, that when I talked to them with an issue that to a new owner seemed serious, they told me to just monitor her and see if a couple other symptoms arise before coming in. They could have just told me to come in and collect the $183 plus whatever tests and treatments they are going to do, but they didn't. I can't give it five because I have not and hopefully will not need to go, but I will give it four because somebody cares about the animals and the owner enough not to get me to pay them this time.

ZERO STARS (Back story- 3 months prior, my dog had a leg amputated at Blue Pearl due to a mast cell. His surgeon was Dr. Jackson and he was AMAZING) A few months after my boys amputation, I brought my beloved dog to EP Blue Pearl because he was in terrible pain. Due to covid, my pup waited to be triaged and then another 5 hours to be seen. Was called and told they couldn't find anything wrong with the initial exam, but they could keep him overnight and run more tests...OH, and that my dog was barking NON STOP the entire time and didnt seem to be in much pain. I picked my dog up as I knew the non stop barking meant he was terrified and calling for me. A week later, my dog was DEAD. His pain never went away and I was able to bring him to our regular vet. One x ray showed a huge mass that had grown in his abdomen. We knew the most loving thing to do was to end our little guys misery. This was on Dec. 21st. I called Blue Pearl in EP at the end of Dec. and spoke to a member of management there because I just couldn't let it go that they told me my dog didnt seem like he was in pain and also that he barked non stop! My heart breaks that my baby suffered that day! The doctor didnt even care! The manager I spoke to was very apologetic and reassured me that he would figure out what happened and get back to me. He even told me that my call was the most important issue on his list and he would get back to me. It is now almost 3 months later and nobody from EP Blue Pearl has contacted me. Although BP is not at fault for my dog passing, they are at fault for treating him in such a non caring manner, letting him bark and be in pain, and basically telling me he wasn't in pain! They already have over 7K of my money between the surgery, meds, and all our emergency trips....so what do they care? UPDATED- In response to Blue Pearls response, you were never available to begin with and never returned my calls. Stay away from Blue Pearl.

Last Sunday, Aug; 15, the folks at the BluePearl emergency vet helped our beloved kitty, Stella, cross the Rainbow Bridge. Despite the circumstances, we were EXTREMELY happy with the service we received and the way we were treated. We called ahead and the process, including the COVID precautions the clinic is taking, were explained to us in detail. We didn't experience a long wait once we arrived (=less than 30 minutes) and were allowed in and were able to be with Stella at the end. This wasn't our first visit to the BluePearl Pet Hospital, nor was it the first time they've helped us with a euthanasia for one of our fur babies. The treatment our pets and we have received over the years is reliably phenomenal, even in the most stressful situations. I can't recommend BluePearl enough.

These people literally don’t care about your animals. I have tried all 3 clinics in the area with a puppy who has been puking all day and unable to even drink water, I waited in my car for 4 hours before them telling me to try different clinics and I wouldn’t be able to get in today. What an absolute joke. Hopefully your pet isn’t dying because this place would probably ask you to wait and refuse to listen to you. I’m never rude to customer service reps but all of the people today got an earful due to their lack of empathy and care. How horrible.

Great experience with Blue Pearl. Of course it's late on Friday night when I realize that my cat seems off enough to be of concern. I verify that Blue Pearl is the emergency vet in town these days and call three of their locations - one tells me they don't have all the equipment I might need based on my concerns for my cat (thought he might have a flare of of pancreatitis), the next says the wait is up to 5 hours, but the last says they are full for the night at this time - so back to #2 which is Eden Prairie. I call them back as I head over and get the chart started, figuring I may have to spend 5 hours in my car, but better to know at the start. The staff person was very friendly and thorough, getting all our infomation entered and giving me the necessary instructions. I arrived at the location and called to let them know I was there and they called me back to bring him up to the door within minutes. Very shortly thereafter I got a text letting me know that his vitals were good and that he would likely be seen by the doctor in the next 1-2 hours and that I did not need to stay in their lot as long as I was available by phone. I headed home (15 minute drive) and as I had been driving for about 10 minutes, my phone rang, and it was the doctor! I filled her in on his history and what had precipitated my visit - and she listened carefully, then described her plan of attack based on that information. I asked about one more type of medication and she gave a well considered answer. She then clearly described he type of result we hoped for and the signs I should look for that would indicate that I needed to bring him back in after she released him to me (which would be shortly). I felt really confident that she understood the situation and about her plan for Oliver. I turned around and went back, arrived to find a text from Blue Pearl with my total and an option to pay online, then called to let them know I had arrived, and they brought Oiver out with meds and written instructions minutes later. All told I think I was back home in less than 2.5 hours from determining that I needed to take him in (could have been less, I didn't pay strict attention to what time we got going). I am very pleased with the service, and my bill was under $400, which honestly, isn't out of keeping with what I pay for a regular vet visit these days, and certainly worth my peace of mind and for the high level of service I received. I will feel confident using Blue Pearl again in the future and recommending them to others.

We had an emergent situation with our 8 year old lab Cinder. We had went to the U of Iowa first but time was of the essence and needed an MRI fast if it was a disc issue. The university did not have a technician on hand so we had to drive an additional 3 hours to here. Right away in the morning the doctor; a vet neurologist (I’ll edit my review if I can think of the doctors name) evaluated our girl. She called me; she was so kind, knowledgeable with her skill and explained everything very clearly to us. Even though we lost our dog yesterday due to the most probable diagnosis of cancer; I greatly appreciated the care she received, the kind words from the doctor. The doctor was very honest; she said we could have done additional tests but prognosis was still poor. The cost of what was needed to be additionally done was very substantial. It’s hard to know how we could have afforded that if we had to do it but none the less they were honest and told us it wasn’t worth it. I’m giving 5 stars because I feel the care was amazing. The cost is steep; and I would imagine other places are too; but at the end of the day I would have done or tried to figure it out if it was needed and could have saved her. ????

I had to rush my senior girl to the vet; I thought it was heart related & I was losing her. The locations closest to me were full, so I was in full panic mode having to drive 40 minutes with a sick dog. The person I spoke to as we were enroute was calm & handled it perfectly. The triage nurse saw her fairly quickly & assured me she was stable. Yes, it was a long wait time for the Vet to see her; they are so overwhelmed & have to prioritize cases, but they communicated with me clearly about each step & wait time. The entire staff was amazing with me & with my stressed out girl. The Dr. discovered something going on with her spine, which was related to numerous symptoms I'd been trying to get diagnosed since December. I was able to get her in to her regular vet for further tests & sure enough, she has Spondylosis. I'm forever grateful to the Vet for finally pointing us in the right direction. She's now on a treatment plan that has already improved the quality of her life, and is no longer suffering in pain she'd been disguising for months.

My kitten was attacked by my dog and we brought him to this vet. They took him right away and called to say he didn't make it. It was the most traumatic and heartbreaking thing to go through. However, I'm giving this place 1 star because I paid them to get my kitten cremated. They said wait time was 5-7 days and to call if its been longer. I called 9 days later and they had no idea where my kitten was. I was told they would call me back. 4 hours later my fiancé called and they said they found him in the freezer untagged and unmarked. They don’t even know 100% if it is him. They just gave a description that it was similar to him. He was never even sent to be cremated and they didn’t call me back. My fiancé had to call to find out. It has just added so much more stress to the situation than there already was. They remembered to send a card saying sorry for your loss a few days after bringing him in. Yet, they didn’t even remember to mark him or send him to get cremated. If I am ever in an emergency situation again. I will not be coming back here. Im not going through that again.

I am extremely unhappy with Blue Pearl when my dog was there dying. He was there for a week hooked to an IV. Eventually, I was told there was nothing more that could be done and I was encouraged to take him home, told “best interest of the dog.” I took him home. He wanted to be outside. He loved the yard. But I watched him hide behind the shed, laying there, covered in flies, waiting to die. After pulling him out, I called to request he be put to rest immediately. I was told I could, but I could not come in. This is the part that infuriates me. This was during a time the vaccinations were out. That people could get Botox, go to the mall, the dentist, restaurants. Yet, I could not be there for his last breaths. I spent 1000’s of dollars with the clinic and I could not be with him!? Wouldn’t me holding him while he died also be in the best interest of the dog!?

BluePearl is the worst vet experience I have ever had in my life. They are completely understaffed and overwhelmed. They can't seem to estimate time effectively and also seem to think that every one else's time is not as important or of any value whatsoever. They like to charge triple for all their mediocre services which provide conflicting advise from so called experts that cannot seem to determine what they diagnosed versus what they ascertained from historical records provided by other Vets. I don't recommend anyone utilize to this facility unless your pet is dying and you would like them put down. I'm sure they can handle that with the most efficiency.

I sincerely hope people have gotten good care here, but a fair warning to anyone considering going here. I recently called here because I was having a hard time finding openings elsewhere. My cat’s mouth has been hanging open, I think he hit it and maybe fractured it. I called this hospital and explicitly stated this. They told me to bring him in. I did, and a few hours later I got a call that since the dentists wasn’t in there was nothing they could do. They charged me $500 for the visit, and told me I would have to look elsewhere. It would have been nice to know ahead of time that the “dentist wasn’t in” when I clearly stated multiple times what I thought was going on. On top of that, they tried to get me to pay for chest xrays because his mouth was open and they told me it was probably because of a chest problem. He was having no problems breathing. The next visit at a better hospital confimed my suspicions of a fractured jaw. Blue Pearl didn’t even administer pain medication or anything. Be careful that they will be doing the right treatment and not running up the bill.

My dog Snoopy (healthy 7 year old Golden Retriever) showed several symptoms of a stroke and got triaged as a “not critical” patient and had a 4h+ wait time to see a vet. Due to Covid regulation I was not allowed to stay with him so I decided to take him back home for the time being. Shortly after we got home he suffered from another stroke and passed away. I am beyond frustrated with their service and the way they treat their patients. Stroke symptoms are serious and need to be treated right away and not in 4h+!

Unfortunately cannot recommend these guys. And, more unfortunately, they're difficult to avoid for surgery since there's limited choices here locally. Communication is poor, environment is cold and very apparent that profits come first with them. If you're able, go to the U of M instead. Lesson learned.
