Palomino Pet Hospital & Clinic Saint Paul, Minnesota

We use the clinic for our dog the last few years since we moved to the south metro. Awesome staff and the Dr is top notch. He always explains things and never tries to sell you extra treatments or meds you don't need. He will even suggest over the counter or low cost alternatives. Check them out for sure ...tell them his favorite terrier jasper sent ya!

I love all of the staff here! Dr. Hunt is so nice, doesn't order unnecessary things and loves my dog! He takes a lot of time with each patient and makes sure you understand and are comfortable with the plan. Plus, my dog loves him!

I love that they care for my pet with the greatest respect for my feeling and hers. They what to know about her whole health mental and physical. My dog loves going there. This is a picture of her at her appointment.

I've been bringing my pets to Dr Hunt for over 25 years. His love for animals, and dedication to his clients, is apparent with every visit. He has been there for my animals and for me, when it was time for a check up, an animal was sick, or when it was time to say goodbye. I can't thank him enough for all he has done for us!

Dr. Hunt really spends a quality amount of time with your pet & pet owner. He is knowledgeable & explains things in a way that is easy to understand. I really enjoy that these days!

Dr. Hunt has done everything from checkups to surgeries on my cats throughout the years; he is top-notch, compassionate, and very reasonably priced. I am so, so pleased with this clinic. :-)

Dr. Hunt has been really helpful with my senior cat and some chronic issues that she has.

Our dogs have been going to Dr. Hunt for years. We’ve never had any issues with Palomino Pet Hospital. The only time we couldn’t deal with them for our dogs was when our dogs needed major surgery other than that our dogs will always see Dr. Ron.

I don’t know if this still happens, but the last time I brought my dog in, the doc spent 15 min examining him and 45 min trying to sell me snake oil. He showed me pseudo-science videos on his phone from YouTube, claimed it “cures MS In mammals,” and effectively stops the aging process. I don’t know, maybe the doc had a bad day? The other reviews on here are good, so maybe I’m alone in this. Weird experience, but my dog is fine. 3/5.

After we had our dog neutered 2 days ago, he got his stitches out and needed to be seen. His regular clinic was full and unable to see him. I called this clinic, and while the doctor was heading out for the day, he offered to stay and look at our dog for us. I was impressed with his willingness to help and knowledge that allowed our dog to get new stitches and antibiotics so quickly. Thank you!!!

Dr Hunt & his staff are extremely accommodating when we need ANY type of service be it a nail trim, a vaccination visit or we are traveling & need to board our girl Josie. We highly recommend Palomino Pet Hospital! EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE FROM EXCELLENT PET LOVIN PEOPLE!

Have seen Dr Hunt for close to 20 years. He has taken care of all our veterinary needs. He has been there for us when we had to make the difficult decision of saying goodbye to our four legged family member. He and his staff have always been friendly, confident, knowledgeable and caring !! We appreciate Palomino Pet Hospital and staff !!

Gilligan who is our new golden retriever puppy was treated royally. Gilligans’s brother Buddy has been also well cared for by Dr Hunt and his staff for 9 years. We keep coming back. We brought our 2 West Highland Terriers there in 1996 and haven’t ever gone anywhere else. We have always felt our pets were in the best of hands and we as pet owners were well educated by the entire staff. I have recommended neighbors and friends and they love Dr Hunt and his hospital/clinic.

I had a wonderful experience! I haven't been a pet owner for a few years so Dr Hunt took the time to go over all the necessary information with my new kitten. You can tell he really cares about the animals in his care and their owners.

I have been bringing my pets to see dr. Hunt for over 20 years. He is always been very knowledgeable, friendly, and caring. He always spends a good amount of time evaluating your pet and talking about the care that is needed. I find him very knowledgeable and helpful in all situations. He was especially compassionate when we lost one of our cats. The time he took spending with my husband coping with the loss was exceptional. I would highly recommend him to anyone.

Great attention to detail and care for your pet. But... like most doctor visits, sit for awhile waiting and takes some time before he gets to you.

I lost my dog 3 years ago but this was her FAVORITE VET! she was terrified of men and when we moved to this location he was the cloest to our home. When we told him how terrified she is of men he understood completely and when he walked into our room he put on the most sweetest stoft tone voice for my beagle. She was totally conflicted becuase here is a man with a womens voice but oh man did it help. He had done so much for my dog to the point where when it was time to say goodbye to her he was just as upset as we were. Once i’m ready to get another dog i WILL be taking him/her here. I have never had such a great vet.

They are amazing. Dr. Hunt is passionate about the care and we'll being of your pet.

This vet was near my new residence. The fact that they were close to me is the only positive thing I can say. I had just adopted 2 dogs from a shelter. I wanted them to have a check-up as advised by the shelter and was told they offer them free for adopted dogs. My appointment was at 2:30. The girl at the front desk had multiple phone calls and was not able to check me in for about 10 minutes. I waited in the lobby another 10 minutes before I was shown to a room with my dogs. There were no other clients there. I waited another 10 minutes in the room for the same front desk person to come in and look over the paperwork (which I had to explain to her) and then go back to the vet and then come back and start recommending services needed. I stopped her and said I just came in for a check up. The vet came in and tried to shame me in to getting services for my dogs that they did not need. He went on to tell me how a responsible dog owner would not be in a hurry and he likes to spend an hour with new dog owners to teach them about caring for their dog. Mind you, I have been a dog owner my entire life. My dogs have all lived long and happy lives. It was a very unpleasant experience. I will drive 20 minutes to my old vet and would not recommend this vet to anyone.

The vet there knew what he was talking about, and doesn't try to sell you things you don't need. Both of our dogs are healthy and they take good care of them. They are gentle to the animals, know how to treat them, and are professional about the whole process.

Dr. Hunt is wonderful and has been so helpful over the years. He must be good to work for as a bunch of his people have moved on to school to become Vets, he always has good staff. We have had to ask a few hard questions and asked them to go above and beyond the call of what's considered normal over the years (nothing big, things like our 160Lbs Otis past away and they close in 2 mins. but they stayed open 40 mins. longer so we could bring him in - stuff like that) and Palomino Pet Hospital has always risen to the occasion like champs. Thank you Dr. Hunt for all your help keeping fur babies healthy and helping us say goodbye when we must - Your good people, thanks.

My dog got sick and took her to this clinic, the doctor gave me the wrong medicine and ended up getting an allergie all over her body, later on she started getting seizures and sadly passed away. I hate the doctor and I think hes the one who killed my dog and wouldn't recommend, coming to this place if you don't want your dog to get sick because the doctor is trash and doesn't know any thing about dogs and he's dumb his last name is hunt.

We have a relationship that we value very much with dr. Ron and his staff. Our dogs are a little high maintenance, and have some health issues so the patience, understanding and advice is always greatly appreciated. Very caring approach...

After we got our dog, we visited two clinics, this being the second one. We stuck with this one because everyone, from the assistants to the vet, will explain and talk through everything to you, and explain what they provide, and what your pet actually NEEDS. Super friendly, and usually have specials going on for heart worm and flea/tick control.

Love this place. I was new to Minnesota and needed a place to board my dogs while I traveled. I stumbled upon this place by luck, and they were fantastic! Both dogs HATE when I leave, but they never seemed to mind leaving me once they got here. The girls were so sweet, and I know they were well taken care of. Thanks again, Palamino Pet!

New to the area, we found Dr. Hunt at an outreach event with the community. Thank goodness we did, because our last vet did not find the thick plaque on our dog's back teeth. Dr. Hunt was able to completely remove it without using anesthesia. He has such a calm demeanor and is so knowledgeable, but also relatable (to animals AND humans)---my dog's teeth are clean enough to star in a commercial now! But more importantly a clean mouth contributes to overall good health. We'll be staying with our new vet!

Dr. Hunt and his staff do a beautiful job relating to our anxious dog. They truly care about the animal and do excellent work.

I really like Dr. Hunt. He takes a lot of time. When my dog had dry-eye he knew who to refer me to. During a serious illness his "nurse" called frequently to check my dog's condition and offer support.

We have been there since they opened the doors and our dogs have always had excellent care.

I would not recommend this place to anyone !!! The staff is NOT well trained to handle animals at all. Terrible experience !! Plus its a very small facility..
