Today would have been my boomers 9th Birthday.. she was in her prime when she crashed and was taken too soon during a “routine” tooth removal. Bad Vet!! Worse yet it was a front counter person who talked me into the procedure. Don’t do it!! Don’t do any of it. I tried to sue but it’s very tough. I’ll continue with my harsh reviews until they are out of business. You’ll be better off somewhere else. They’ll wash this review as they have with many others.. But I hope this reaches someone… “Pets, it turns out, also have last wishes before they die, but only known by veterinarians who put old and sick animals to sleep. Twitter user Jesse Dietrich asked a vet what was the most difficult part of his job. The specialist answered without hesitation that it was the hardest for him to see how old or sick animals look for their owners with the eyes of their owners before going to sleep. The fact is that 90 % of owners don't want to be in a room with a dying animal. People leave so that they don't see their pet leave. But they don't realize that it's in these last moments of life that their pet needs them most. Veterinarians ask the owners to be close to the animals until the very end. ′′It's inevitable that they die before you. Don't forget that you were the center of their life. Maybe they were just a part of you. But they are also your family. No matter how hard it is, don't leave them. Dont let them die in a room with a stranger in a place they dont like. It is very painful for veterinarians to see how pets cannot find their owner during the last minutes of their life. They dont understand why the owner left them. After all, they needed their owner’s consolation. Veterinarians do everything possible to ensure that animals are not so scared, but they are completely strangers to them. Don't be a coward because it's too painful for you. Think about the pet. Endure this pain for the sake of their sake. Be with them until the end.” - Tricia Mo’orea Photo credit: Travis Patenaude. I have watched the eyes of an old friend leave this world.. and I missed the eyes of my little Boomer as she was in for a “routine” surgery as she crashed because Shamrock Animal Hospital screwed up…. This makes me very sad and very angry…. I’ll never forget this….

We've been using Shamrock Animal Hospital for our two dogs for over 10 years. They are caring, professional and reasonable given their service offering. Staff is very friendly and genuinely caring. I highly recommend going here.

I have been taking my dogs to Shamrock for almost 10 years. In the past they have done some great things for my dogs. Both at different times have needed surgery and they were performed very well with zero complications or issues. And I can’t sing the praises of Stephanie at the front desk enough. She is super friendly and remembers your dogs. She is the shining star of Shamrock. Despite this I have been frustrated with the service over the last year and a half. First it feels like there has been a quick revolving door of vets. Obviously the Dr. Warners stay, but I don’t think my dogs have been seen by the same vet twice all of 2020 and 2021. It’s not that any of the vets have been bad per se, but because of the constant change, I feel like information has been missed visit to visit. Second, we have had issues receiving test results. Three times now we have had to call after several days asking if the results ever came in and then we were put on hold until someone found them. Third, the wait times have gotten pretty excessive. There have been times when we were checked in quickly but then our dog wasn’t seen for 30 minutes or more. Or more recently we waited in the parking lot for 15 minutes on hold waiting to talk to a tech to get checked in. I know vet clinics are very very busy right now so I will give them some grace on this one. The biggest frustration I had more recently was with my senior dog. He was a 12 or 13 year old German Shepard mix. His quality of life was slowly deteriorating as he was suffering from arthritis and renal issues. The most recent visit I stated that I was strongly feeling his quality of life was bad, that he wasn’t happy anymore and that I thought it was his time. This was obviously of tough decision for me, but I felt that my feelings were kind of brushed aside and was told the right food and painkillers would help. Later that day and into the next day he had massive gastric issues including bloody diarrhea. We called and we knew they were closing in 30 minutes, but they said to just give him no food and we could talk after the weekend and if necessary we could take him to the ER. He didn’t make it through the weekend as we had to go to the emergency vet and to put him down that very night. I understand they were trying to help make him better but I also see him everyday and know what we had been trying to make him better. I just wish they had listened more to me and not made me feel bad about thinking euthanasia was the right choice.

They will take your money, do all these tests and in the end YOU have to contact them for results. Worst customer service around, I think they care more about money then your pet and it’s outcome.

Dr, Hanson is a very good and experienced Veterinarian. He performed a leg amputation on Rusty because of mast cell cancer threatening his life. Rusty is recovering well and will be going back for post surgical procedures next week. I have every confidence in Dr Hanson's consul and advice.

I had an appointment at 430. I arrived at 423 and then had to wait in my car for another 14 minutes. Once inside I had to be temperature check and required to wear a mask. Once in the vets examination room I waited another 10 minutes in a hot room with a mask on and could hardly breathe. I was told my dog had to have a rabies vaccine and they wanted to give him 2 other vaccines. I expressed the fact my do has already had 2 rabies vaccines in his 4 years of life. Over vaccinated dogs have major health problems and since there is only a half dozen reported cases of rabies a year I would rather not have him get another vaccine. I will never go back to a place that doesn't appreciate their customers time or wishes.

Never had anything but positive experiences with them over the past 12 years. Prices are more reasonable than other veterinary clinics we had used previously.

The staff at Shamrock Animal Hospital is pleasant and eager to help get your pet(s) health on track. Either routine or emergency. I have had the pleasure of working with them for many years through two cats. They are caring and explain what is going on with your pet.

I recently had to make the decision to put my dog down. The staff at Shamrock were warm and friendly. They made my options all very clear. And they were so kind to me and my dog Zoey. They made that terrible experience bearable.

I have to update my rating of Shamrock Animal Hospital. We have been bring our dogs here for more than 10 years. The service has slowly gone down hill and we have changed vets because of decline. I do not recommend Shamrock.

You cannot find the loving and detailed care that Shamrock provides anywhere else! Never any issues, always provides detailed information. Dog nail clipping - UNBELIEVABLE - definitely worth the cost!!!

We have brought both of our dogs here for a long time. We recently had to put our last fur baby down and they were very in touch with our feelings and offered as much time with our guy as we needed. When we get a new dog - down the road - we will continue to come here, even if we move to a neighboring city.

Our 15 year old dog was having seizures and was already either unconscious or in a coma when we made the horribly difficult decision to end his suffering. I called this clinic asking about a euthanasia. As I was talking, I was crying. But I was told they didn't have enough time that day. I couldn't believe it. There wasn't even any sympathy in the receptionists voice, just a "were too busy".

Curbside pickup of my cat was great. Great communication with the vet tech and vet over the phone. Was not rushed and felt they gave Winter the cat a loving and thorough exam.

Docs and techs take good care of our dog. Don't much care for the recent protocols, but I get it. Would prefer they be better at appointment punctuality. Rarely get seen at the scheduled time.

I am writing a review during COVID as it was very hard for me to get an appointment with my local vets in the prior lake area (avail appointments were scheduled a week/weeks out) - I had a puppy with respiratory issues and was able to get an appointment with Shamrock, located 30 minutes from me, the following day. The individuals at Shamrock were very reassuring and responsive to my concerns about my puppy. They were able to inform me of details about my puppy’s respiratory issues and even provided a free puppy kit! I am very happy with their friendly and affordable services and will be returning to this location from this point forward!

The vets really care about my animals and take the time to listen to my concerns no matter how small. When my first cat died they were very understanding and I was allowed to spend as much time as I needed with him. I didn’t want to leave him alone afterwards and the vet took him in her arms very gently so he wouldn’t be alone. Best veterinarian I’ve ever taken my animals to, I will not trust anyone else with my dog and cats.
