We had to say goodbye to our 16 year old dog Clyde on Friday. He was with us since he was 2 month old. The hardest decision was to euthanize him. …

I am so thankful to have a 24 hour emergency vet clinic in town. In my experience, the workers genuinely care about pets and are most professional. Both visits were above and beyond as far as responsibilities of care. They called to check in on my dog a few days after a visit for a UTI a few years back, with helpful questions to assess his recovery, and heloful tips to help find signs if he were to need to come back in. They sent a beautidul heart felt letter after our recent visit. It brings a sweetness to the aftermath of an otherwise stressful situation of having a sick pet. I love the sense of community and soft touch they have.

They are seeing folks mostly when they are having a trying time. Layer the pandemic on top. Such an essential service during trying times. Incredibly professional and compassionate. Thank you!

We needed to have our elderly cat euthanized on a Friday night after normal vet hours. The staff was compassionate and extremely professional. Yes, it costs a fair amount more than an ordinary vet, but in my view you're paying for them to keep the place open throughout the middle of the night and weekend so you can have access to care in emergency / after-hours situations. The vet, Dr. Rebecca Condon, was an angel of mercy at a time we really needed it.

To any vet that has this Blue Pearl listed on your voicemail for after hours care - please reconsider- goes right to voicemail- says they are closed - no Wednesday hours???

Called to ask whether a condition was an emergency or if it could wait. Very generous and honest with the answer so we’ve decided to wait until our regular vet can see our dog. But we’ll definitely come here for an emergency.

I had to take my guy in because he was in respiratory distress and went downhill quickly overnight. I cannot say enough good things about them. The gal behind the desk, the tech to the vet. They were so compassionate and when I had to make the decision to help him cross, they were just so sincere. I was not expecting to leave without him but they helped me help him cross in the best way possible given the circumstances.

I had called ahead on a Sunday with my cat in respiratory distress and when I arrived my cat was quickly admitted. This is the only positive thing I can say about Blue Pearl. After several phone calls from the vet which were not very productive, my cat was discharged 4 hours later with a liquid medication to give. The next day with no change we took him to our regular vet who was absolutely furious at the diagnosis from Blue Pearl and let us know our cat could have asphyxiated from trying to administer the oral medicating while in respiratory distress (which he still was in). And everything else diagnosed was incorrect. Our vet gave our cat the correct medicating via shots and the next day he was recovering. I had previous experience with Blue Pearl which was very compassionate and this was just not what I was expecting when I bring a member of my family who is suffering in for care. **Edit** A month later I regretfully had to bring my cat back. This time he sadly didn't make it due to a blood clot. The vet and the staff were very compassionate and quick to bring us in and diagnosis his issue; then giving me time with him before the inevitable end. A week later I received a lovely card with written sentiments by the vet and staff. Overall in my experiences I would have to say I recommend the staff at BluePearl and feel they are the best care in an emergency situation.

It Seems to be pretty common with this hospital, but we had a horrible experience. Our dog was rushed from over an hour away due to a twisted stomach as we knew that her chances of survival were dependent on how fast she could be seen. They took her in and charged $400 just for X-rays, then called and said it was twisted and they’d need to do surgery, but Before the surgery they needed to do testing to make sure she was a candidate. Before they would help her at all or even start the testing, they required a $5,600 payment(which I now realized from reading reviews is far more than what they’ve quoted other patients for the same procedure). They wouldn’t take payment information over the phone and insisted on sending a link to fill out the information. They were not in any rush to send the information or give us calls when they said they would. When I called to see if they were even sending anything and tell them that they needed to hurry because it was an emergency. The veterinarian picked up and rudely said she was well aware that it was an emergency but they wouldn’t do anything until they had their money. If you can go anywhere else at all, you should. This hospital does not care about animals in the slightest, only about ripping off their customers and getting their money.

So, I took my dog there tuesday night around midnight, his stomach turned and the doctor said it would be around 4000, I said fix him, she sent me over to someone else for payment arrangements, he said it 4000 now or your dog dies anyway, I had 3000 in my checking and can get the rest in the morning when bank opens, long story short because he was handicapped already, they didnt want to do surgery, so I had to put my best friend down, they even wouldn't letme see him until I paid for it in full, that place and staffhasno compassion

Absolutely horrendous experience!! Would not recommend one bit. Our dog was dying from pyometra, I called and told them I was coming from an hour away and that we needed to have her put to sleep. They gave me a price and told me to come down. Drove an hour there, called and waited another hour… still hadn’t been called to come in so I called and asked for an update.. she the proceeded to tell me it would be 3-4 hours. I said ok, I’ll go find something to do until you can get me in. Since drove an hour to get there I couldn’t just go home. This was all around 11am, it’s now 7pm and I have STILL not received a call !! My dog was suffering and dying so I of course made the right call and drove another hour and a half to another clinic. So disappointed!!!

We interacted with BluePearl because we had an emergency situation with our incredible dog. We are so very grateful for this clinic being about an hour from us. They offer a valuable service to communities in multiple counties in multiple states. So very important! We did spend quite a bit of time in the parking lot (5hours), but they remained in contact for the most part. The Dr. was incredible and I wish I could have put my stress and pain away for a second, in order to remember her name. She gave me all of my options and explained them thoroughly without dumbing it down. I felt confident in her ability to diagnose and that's amazing reassurance. We ultimately chose to humanely euthanize our little man. So hard to even speak it, she spoke it for me. She also gave me a huge gift by affirming this was not a bad decision to be making...it was peace my heart needed. So THANK YOU to her ❤ My critique is that we waited 2 hours, after confirming we were proceeding with euthanasia. There were unavoidable complications, but not two hours worth of complications. When they asked me if I wanted to be with him, I didn't realize it would be hours away. He only got worse during this time. I will forever feel remorseful that he had to spend unnecessary time being uncomfortable. His legs were wrapped like he went to war and that was all from failed attempts to get a catheter in. It happens, but there's a time to stop and explore other options. He was even favoring one...it broke my heart further. It's by far the worst part in grieving his loss and it could have been avoided by the staff taking the time to make better decisions, giving him more time and consideration, and communicating options to me promptly. I think time well spent would be reviewing this situation in an effort to make sure end of life services are a good experience for everyone involved. I believe we could agree this is crucial for any practice and especially in emergency services. And it's just showing respect where it's due. Feel free to contact me personally.

So we were new to town and unable to get into our new vet for 3 weeks. We utilized the clinic for our dog who was exhibiting some trouble breathing/heavy congestion from suspected kennel cough. Upon arrival (almost 11pm) we had to leave her in a crate outside the front door even though we were the only people there. The tech was standing on the other side of the glass door staring at us. We were wearing masks and the dog was freaking out and the tech (also wearing a mask) wouldn't open the door to just put her on the lead and take her in, total disaster. She made us put the dog in a huge crate and walk away from her. Then after back and forth phone calls while we sat in our vehicle, they gave us a "suspected" diagnosis of kennel cough and prescribed 4 days of antibiotic (doxycycline) medication. Antibiotics are usually 7-10 day course. I called back the next night when they opened asking if it should be 7-10 days of medication and if we could pay more and get the remainder of the medication (it was only $12). They said the doctor that saw our dog wasn't there and we should go to our regular vet for follow up and to get the rest of the antibiotics. I told them the whole reason we came there was because we couldn't get into our vet for 3 weeks. They were unwilling to give us the additional 3-5 days of antibiotic and said we would have to bring her back to be seen again. A visit is $183. The medication was only $12. So we had already spent almost $200 and they were totally unwilling to offer to speak with the doctor that saw us the day before or even ask another doctor who was there to give us more antibiotic and just wanted another $183 for another office visit. Thankfully later that week we were able to find a vet approx 30 mins away that was able to get us in and that was another $92 (which I didn't mind paying at all) I guess my point is that paying blue pearl was a complete waste of money. They aren't going to treat your pet with 100% complete care or treatment including a full course of antibiotics, you will get half of the prescription. I never in my life have dealt with a veterinary care facility that didn't care at all. I would never utilize these people again under any circumstance, terrible service all the way around.

$182 quoted examination fee....any treatment is extra. That's More than a lot of urgent care clinics. Banfield Pet Hospital in the Pet Smart is only a couple of miles away... Not open 24/7 but a much better option if they are open.

I am so thankful to Blue Pearl for the excellent care received late Saturday night into the early Easter Sunday morning hours. My GSD needed emergency surgery for stomach torsion GDV. This condition requires immediate emergency surgery to correct. We called before we left to let them know we were coming from La Crosse-and that it would be over an hour before would arrive. All here, the initial person who took my call, the techs and the day/overnight surgical veterinarians were extremely professional compassionate and very informative. The assessment, procedure, risks of surgery, and surgery estimate was all addressed completely and in a compassionate way. The surgeon was very clear on recovery rate and if my boy was a good candidate for this procedure. This was a time sensitive condition and I am so grateful to Dr. Rebecca J. Condon for saving my GSD’s life. Chief is recovering nicely. I cannot thank Blue Pearl enough for their services. I highly recommend blue pearl if you have an emergency situation with your pet. I recently had a late night after hours emergency with one of my dogs. CVT Andrew met us at the door to carry my dog inside as she was unable to walk on her own. He was kind and gentle with her. DVM Wasmoen called me as soon as he had information to share about my dog's health. He spoke with my honestly about her status, answered all of my questions, checked in with my regularly and still remained kind. I can't thank this Blue Pearl team enough for offering my dog comfort and care when she needed it most.

I would give this place zero stars if I could. The communication with the pets owners is absolutely terrible. I took my cat in for what I knew was a UTI. I sat in the parking lot for almost 4 hours and had to call to get any updates. I understand that urgent patients come first, but we should of been told that it would be a long wait. No one was up front about this. They essentially did nothing and then charged us $300. Wouldn’t recommend at all!!

Such awesome people. My dog passed away on the way there and we never did meet this wonderful staff but they were all nice enough to send me a sentimental card. In this chaotic world, a little gesture of humanity goes a long way.

We needed some emergency services done to our dog. They did a good job, but then proceeded to cut our dogs toenails without our approval. We get the bill and they charged us $41.50 for cutting his nails, which was NOT authorized by us. We will be taking our veterinary needs elsewhere!! They also made us give our credit card information BEFORE we knew a total or what was all done! Thats NOT how you do business!

My pup just got stapled up today after her coat/skin was caught on something sharp the evening before. They did a great job setting expectations for wait time, pricing and post-operative care. The doctor did a great job assessing her and keeping me updated. Although things are a little bit more distant because of COVID, my dog was well taken care of through all the interactions. Pricing is reasonable and they do try to keep that in mind when choosing how much intervention they need to perform (ex. my pup just needed staples, which cost less than stitches woo hoo!). Just a heads up, they do get quite busy at night so the wait is longer (but again, they tell you and set the expectation based on how urgent your dog's needs are and what other patients they're also triaging).

Spent $1000 dollars for emergency vet service for our dog with broken leg. Friday night and no other vets were open and couldn’t leave our dog to suffer all weekend. They took x rays and put a splint on the dogs leg that pretty much fell apart the next day. $1000 dollars for nothing and have to start all over with the regular vet.

My cat was very old and went down hill very fast and it was on a weekend, my vet office was not open. So I called them and they were very friendly. I knew it was going to be hard as my cat was at the end of life. They talked me through the whole thing and gave me the time I needed. The great thing is that when I went to pick up the ashes they had taken paw prints that I had forgotten to ask them to do. Very top notch place. The best people to work with. Very caring and understanding staff.

Thank God for Blue Pearl. Needing services on a Sunday in La Crosse, Wisconsin area, we couldn't find a vet anywhere that was able to help us put our dear Daisy down, they were either at capacity, had no emergency service, or you had to be a patient of theirs to be seen. We called Blue Pearl and they were able to help, we jumped in the car for an hour long ride, we were met with professional and compassionate staff. Using Covid-19 precautions, everything went smoothly. The price was not as much as I was expecting to pay for a weekend, emergency visit. And they sent us a sympathy card with staff comment and signatures, which, to me, was great being they are not even our regular vet. Again, thank you so much, you were our shining light on a dreadful day.....

Would give them zero stars if I could. Was very very disgusted and disappointed with my experience. My 12 week old puppy ate my deodorant and I checked online to see if it was harmful and some people said it could be deadly. So I called their poison control helpline, and while I’m over here figuring out whether my dog will be okay or not. They’re asking for my credit card information! I understand it is a service, but they should at least show a little empathy or concern. The phone call was a total of 8 minutes, and half of it was the lady trying to get my credit card information out of me. In my mind I was disgusted, but I quickly gave it to her because I was more concerned about my puppy than the money, unlike them. They charged me $60 for their 4 minutes of researching if the deodorant he ate was poisonous, and ended up telling me to feed him food and water. 60 freakin dollars. So disappointed! They are supposed to be a helpline for god sakes! It seems like all they care about was money...

We had a great experience at this clinic after being super scared for our puppy's health. We called them around 9 pm on a Sunday to ask about our puppy's symptoms and if we could take her in. Because of Covid they were taking lots of safety precautions, which we thought was great. I talked to the vet on the phone from my car 3 times as he assessed what she had and he explained in detail every treatment option and what they thought she had. He had us walk her around the parking lot a little bit before leaving to make sure she was fine. Then a few days later they called our regular vet clinic to update them and our vet gave us a call to schedule an appointment to follow up. So thoughtful! Overall, yes...it is expensive ($150 for the check up, then treatment is extra of course), but keep in mind that this is an after hours clinic. I thought they did a great job, were very thoughtful and overall we had a great experience. Would totally recommend!

Our furbaby, Baci developed bloody diarrhea in the middle of the night and we brought her to Blue Pearl in Rochester. She was seen immediately and diagnosed immediately. They prescribed medication and set us up with a vet in Spring Valley, Minnesota to follow her care. Everyone that we dealt with was caring and compassionate and my husband and I never doubted that she was being well cared for. The topper was when we received a call from the Vet the next day to check on Baci's condition! We will not hesitate to go back there if we have another pet emergency in the middle of the night!

If there was a zero stars option that would be pin pointed to the quality of service. My dog was having issues pushing her puppy through her birth canal. Nobody would tell me what was going on, I had to call 4 times myself just to see if everything was okay. The doctor had an attitude when I asked if xrays (which were VERY spendy) were necessary. I would rather bring my dog to our primary vet from my home town where they respect you and your feelings. All of the staff kept giving me attitude and hanging up on me when I was calling to ask if my puppy was okay. Very disappointed, won’t ever go again. Way over priced for quality. Period.

The staff at Blue Pearl provided compassionate and thoughtful care to my wife and I, and Lucas, our dear little tuxedo cat of eighteen years, during his final hours.

Overall I'm thankful to have had this place as a resource for my dog, but be prepared to pay a hefty price if your dog has to stay overnight; our bill was over $1,000. Last night our healthy 1.5 year old dog was suddenly twitching, shaking, and was wobbly on her feet. We took her to BluePearl and got in right away. The front desk staff and vet techs were very compassionate. The vet strongly advised they keep our dog overnight as she also had a high temp. We said our dog was in the garage prior to her symptoms, so could have gotten into something toxic; the vet advised we go search our garage. We found some glue so called the vet. He told us to call Poison Control who told me the glue was toxic and could produce the central nervous symptoms our dog was having. They provided me with a code to give the vet so the vet could call and speak to a Toxicologist. The vet called me afterward and said the glue really only affects gastro which confused me as poison control told me the glue could have central nervous system symptoms. When I picked my dog up in the morning the vet listed possible causes for her tremors such as a brain tumor, pinched nerve, seizures, epilepsy.. and said we could go to their other location for an MRI and x-rays and he said it would cost a couple thousand. I elected to go to our primary vet instead who agrees the most logical answer is that our dog was affected by the glue. Like I said, I'm very thankful for this resource as they were able to get my dog stable and get her temp down. But I'm also thankful I followed up with my primary afterward instead of doing additional testing.
