Great River Pet Center Oakdale, Minnesota

We used to go to this place when they had a building and it was great. This place is scary. Dirty, unorganized, dogs in crates or just loose. I walked in and wouldn’t leave him there. All the photos are old. I doubt they have a license.

Our dogs love staying here, and always come home happy and tired. Pepper takes great care of them and their needs. It's a small but great place to board your pets.

Nobody cares for these pets more than Pepper. She is professional & clearly dedicated to her work. The scheduling/service flexibility I’ve experienced here along with very personalized service make me confident this was the right choice for my pet over a corporate or larger boarding/pet care organization. Onboarding could be improved with an online registration/payment option but Pepper has been able to keep service costs remarkably low/competitive In the absence of need to purchase these types of software upgrades. I visited twice before my pet’s first day Both times, the animals were contained in a manner that I was able were to walk in and out of the facility without any interference inner from the dogs at all. Because I do daily dip off/pick up, I’ve observed that Pepper will always corral the dogs away from the entrance when she knows someone in set to arrive. It’s best to always call first.

Dog came back with a bite mark. Place is disgusting. No control. Woman is not fit to run her own business. Dog is shaking.

Pepper was able to provide top shelf service on short notice when I had a family emergency. Great River Pet Center has always taken great care of my dog.

Took excellent care trimming my cats nails. Pepper was very gentle with Olive. I'm definitely coming back

This was our first time boarding Bella! It was a great experience we felt like our pup well taken care of and she even had a little photo shoot while shewas there. We will be definitely using Great River Pet Center again????

She's great. The puppy got to socialize, got a run and a bath. We call it puppy spa day. She lets us know any concerns she notices, which is super helpful.

I had a wonderful experience with Great River Pet Center! Pepper the owner is sweet and caring, daisy fit right in. She took very good care of my daisy and reassured me that she would be okay. Daisy made tons of friends there and was so tired when she got home. Which means she had a great time! We Will be using her again! Wonderful experience! Made it easy for me to enjoy my vacation!

Just dropped my little princess today! Second time going to great pet center. She was more calm today as I dropped her off. Pepper is really good with pets. My princess feels like home. She usually comes back so exhausted with pretty nice after a vacation! Would recommend! Definitely going back!

When going to pick up my dog. I was molested by a big grey dog. Then when my dog came to greet me, she seemed lathargic. After getting her home... She was dehydrated and hind legs where sore. It took her a few days to recover. She's better now. Will I bring her back there, NO!

I boarded my dog here for two nights. There were way too many dogs for the amount of space- not sure where my dog slept. When we picked up our dog he was limping and brought him to the vet and he had a deep cut in between his paws- I’m sure he was bleeding while he was there but never told us; he ended up having kennel cough as well. If it wasn’t for having no other options I would not have left him here.

I cannot begin to say how pleased we were with Maisies care. PEPPER is so good with all the dogs. I was so uneasy about leaving my 16 month old Maisie for the first time ever leaving her anywhere. But Maisie was immediately embraced by PEPPER. You can see the love and caring she has for all the dogs. It is one big funfest for all of them. I wouldn't hesitate to bring Maisie back. Thank you Pepper for taking care of my big furball!

Pepper is absolutely amazing! Every time I pick up my pup he’s exhausted from all the play time with the other dogs! She’s always so amazing about taking last minute requests and trimming his nails. Thank you again for all you do, Pepper! Highly recommend Great River Pet Center!

We boarded our 11 month old Lab here for ten days . It being our first major get away without our dog, it was very stressful for me. (We did bring him for a one night trial ahead of time to be sure I liked the place and it was safe. ) Pepper was very attentive to him, she even eased my nerves by sending me a cute email from “our dog “ it also included a photo shoot. The place is on the smaller side and sometimes seems a bit populated but after using this facility three separate times , I trust pepper with my dog 100 percent.

Great River Pet Center took the stress out of boarding my cat for 6 days. The business owner, Pepper, was extremely accommodating and flexible with drop off/pick up times. She brought me back into the room where my cat would be staying, for a tour, when we first arrived and tolerated me lingering to make sure my cat was tolerating the change well enough. He totally did, too! Pepper provided a clean room complete with a window and cat trees/toys for when it's their turn to roam around the room (ALWAYS individually, I was assured). When I came back to get him, my cat Was enjoying the cat tree, I didn't observe any behavior changes and he looked healthy and cared for. That assessment hasn't changed since we've been at home. I can happily recommend Great River Pet Center to anyone who wants safe, affordable boarding services with outstanding customer service (for both the pet and their human!)

I have been brining my Beagle since he was 8 weeks old to Great River Pet Center for almost 2 years now while I am at work. Pepper is amazing with the dogs and is very passionate about her job. My little Beagle loves going and looks forward to the drive every morning. My dog is well cared for and is exhausted by the time I pick him up. Customer service is amazing. Pepper is always friendly, and takes the time to listen and understand the needs of your pet if need be. I would recommend Great River Pet Center to anyone. I couldn't think of any other place to bring my Bodhi boy.

Very unclean - way too small of a space in someone’s home and yard for this whole business. Had not started preparing my cat’s kennel anywhere close to arrival. Seemed like some animals might need to be tended to better. The ratio of animals staying to people working was way off, and possibly service and cleanliness could improve if this was changed. The cats were stuck in a tiny room with each other in their separate kennels. Laundry was a mile high. Seems like most reviews are for dogs. I would not take your cat here if you have high expectations of care.

Great experience! Milo spent the weekend being spoiled by Pepper! He is exhausted (yay) and happy! It’s a relief knowing I have a safe and reliable place to bring him when I need to go out of town!

Pepper is great and easy to work with. My pup enjoyed her time there! Great that they get to run around and not be locked in kennels all day. Would recommend and will be boarding again.

Had our dogs boarded there and the place is filthy and run down. There were over 20 dogs there and it is just an unsafe environment. No response when checking in on the dogs and just poor customer service. One of our bones was not returned. I will not be bringing my dogs back there again!

My two dogs came home tired and happy from their 3 day stay at Great River Pet Center. I would definitely send them there again!

I love this place! Pepper is so kind and easy to work with! She’s great with the dogs and really seems to care for each one. Milo loves it there! He comes home so tired I know he’s played all day!

Pepper is so great! My little pup gets ver anxious but Pepper made sure to make him feel right at home. When I came to pick him up, he didn't even notice me he was too busy having fun. Will definitely come back!
