So unfortunate my dying dog can’t even be seen because they directly favor old customers

UPDATE: This place is no longer a good place to bring your animals. They're way too busy and continue to mess up and not return important phone calls. Twice now on two different occasions I've been told they'd call me back to schedule an important ultrasound. Nothing has happened. I feel like they're taking on too many new patients and don't care about the old ones that have been going there for years. Because of all the new patients, they took our old vet away that we were used to seeing and stuck us with some guy that has terrible "bedside" manner and is terrible with follow up. I'm going to find a new place to go now. Old Review: Excellent vets and techs all around. They really care about your animals and it shows

I called shady oak the other day to ask a question regarding my dog and the receptionist was rude and snappy. Really disappointed with the responses I received being a concerned pet owner.

The Shady Oak Vet Staff is awesome! I’ve been bringing my corgi here since he was a pup, and we have only had great experiences. They’ve always tried their hardest to accommodate us on a last minute if an issue pops up or provide other local recommendations. Their staff is always so sweet and helpful, and I feel like they actually care about my dog. They’re priced very well as well.

Pricey but all the staff are very friendly

I adopted a 9 year old German Shepherd that I started taking here years ago. Dr. Chris is an incredible vet and ally. She is responsive and always follows up to check on my dog post treatment, we’ve had a fair amount of health issues in the last few years. Jody at the front desk is the real deal. She is beyond helpful and always follows up with me, leaving me with every bit of information needed. I trust them with my best friend (my dog) who is now 12 and acts younger than when I got him.I’m forever grateful for everyone at Shady Oak!

The staff and doctors are super friendly. The facility is clean and we'll kept up. I'd definitely recommend this veterinarian clinic to anyone with a cat or dog.

They get the job done but they are not known for going above and beyond for your pets or for you. They botched lab results, they seem unorganized, but the workers are all very nice. I don’t recommend them for any “urgent care” needs or special issues, but for normal routine care, I’d say they are solid.

This place is great. They are always friendly and very accommodating to me and my pet's needs. They're also transparent and conscious of cost which is very refreshing. Highly recommended

Fairly quick checkup for our dog.

We have been going to Shady Oak for about 10 years. They do a great job with personal phone call follow-ups. My dog gets better care than I do at my own health clinic! Prices are competetive. Vets and staff are top notch. I love this place!

The only place I’ll take my fur babies

I agree wholeheartedly with the person who complained about the wait and not being greeted right away. I have a mobility impairment, so I can't just stand in line; it hurts my feet too much. The prices are good, but they overbook. To get an emergency dental was a 2 1/2 week wait. EDIT: When I originally posted this, in my grief, I thought that Zach had lost weight between the pre-op physical and the date of his surgery. THIS WAS INCORRECT. At the time, I felt that Shady Oak should have talked to me about whether I wanted to continue with the procedure when in fact, nothing had changed since the initial consent. He did lose weight after his dental surgery, but it had nothing to do with surgery. He had a fast growing and aggressive intestinal tumor. I apologize to Shady Oak for my previous negative review. It was based on false memory brought on by grief.

Dr Paul almost murdered our dog by prescribing our 3 year old dog 10x the prednisone he should have been prescribed. He performed unnecessary surgery on him and he was at the University of Minnesota intensive care unit for 4 days and we were given a low chance of survival. He miraculously lived and every professional we have seen since then with our dogs has expressed how incompetent every vet at shady oak must be to have not caught such an excessive overdose. He saw 3 vets including the owner who attempted to diagnose his symptoms. It was a textbook steroid overdose that the U of M diagnosed immediately. Granted, they covered the costs ($10,000) when we threatened malpractice. They admitted to us that they almost killed him. We never got an apology from dr Paul directly and he’s still seeing animals.

Great place. Very kind and empathic. One star lower just because it can get frustrating when you try to call in and the line is always busy.

Amazing people work here. They care so much about your fur babies and are just an amazing and special bunch of people. We have used then for our cats and dogs. Always handle everything with compassion.

I won't take my pups anywhere else. I trust the vets and staff at shady oak with my family and they always deliver. They are professional, not overly expensive, and actually care about the animals that come to their clinic. My golden retriever had an eye condition that resulted in liver damage following multiple visits to other vets and prescribed medication. Dr. Barb readily addressed our concerns and she offered an indepth explaintation of the available options for her recoverey. The staff here won't force unnecessary procedures or medication on your companion. They care for your pet like they are family and I personally couldn't ask for more.

Caring, compassionate, professional. We struggled finding a vet here after moving from Fargo. Shady Oak has been wonderful caring for our 2 aging cats. They're always super responsive to messages and try best to schedule our needy kitty w a uti as soon as possible. With Covid it's been tough to not be in the office with our pets, but I really trust all the kind techs and staff at Shady Oak. Our little anxious kitty has had 0 behavior issues in their care. love them!

I adopted my kitten from a woman who works at Shady Oak. Very good experience with the ladies at the front desk. Would recommend you take your pets here.

Caring. Professional staff. Efficient. Sometimes a wait because it is a very busy clinic, but it's worth the short wait for the great care.
