I can't really see how it was. I tried to fill out an application and for some reason it wouldn't let me. I did find an animal some place also that worked out

Absolutely 100% useless. They have signs saying no animals on site but you can clearly hear barking in the back. The office is supposedly closed but the chairs are moved and have jackets so clearly people are on site. Just go to the humane society is the advice I was given by their vet clinic side. A side which has no information about the adoption/pet surrender section.

Secondhand Hounds is amazing. The entire process was very easy, the foster family and staff were very responsive and helpful. We are so excited and happy we found Bella. She is a perfect fit for our family. Highly recommend for anybody looking to adopt. Thank you guys so much.

Very professional process. It is almost a year having our dog we adopted from secondhand hounds this December. Before she left they made sure she was healthy and even kept the dog a few extra weeks as she developed a UTI during her adoption process. They made sure she was clear of the UTI before they sent her to our home. They really do care about the well-being of the animals they are taking care of.

I had an incredible experience adopting my dog from Secandhand Hounds one year ago and thought to leave a good review after donating again. Their website is regularly updated, staff and fosters were quick to respond to any questions I had, and I was provided up-to-date medical records after adopting. Overall, a great organization :)

We have been sending our dog to Secondhand Hounds for over 4 years. They are wonderful with him and he is always so happy after a day of daycare or a boarding stay.

What a grade a organization! This place doesn’t flip animals into any homes. They actually care about permanent, good homes for their animals. They inspected my home to make sure that I would be able to provide for my new dog. The foster we had was amazing. They brought the animal to our house to get my current dog in her natural environment to make sure both animals got along. Three years later I still have our best friend Ovechkin. We love her so much and love what second hand hounds does. Nice to find a group of people that truly care. Highly recommended to anyone.

My family looked at Second Hand Hounds. Early in the process, we noticed that the organization is not entirely transparent about their animals and is not entirely honest in their communication. As a result, we decided to go a different path. I would not recommend Second Hand Hounds to any of my family and friends.

We have adopted two puppies from them. I love the program and what they try to do to help rescues. I will always adopt from here on out and from Secondhand Hounds. Our two pups are now 2 years old and we couldnt be happier they are apart of our family.

Very unethical practices by Second Hand Hounds. Second Hand Hounds provides a false narrative to what happens to their animals. Second Hand Hounds does euthanize animals. They will guilt you into adopting / donating money. Avoid!!!!!

We recently adopted a Labrador Retriever puppy and couldn't have been happier with the her! She is loving, caring, and so well behaved already. We owe this smooth process to the foster parents, who we could tell right away loved her the way we were going to love her. The transition from Foster Care to us was so smooth and the Foster Parents gave us so much information about our new pup. We could really tell our puppy was in such good care! In addition to giving us information about our puppy, they helped us with steps along the way. It was our first time adopting a rescue and we were pretty clueless as to the process. They answered any question we had about the process and helped us get in contact with people who they have worked with if they didn't know the answer. We were a little concerned about the wait and response time with the organization at some points. After a couple days of no communication, we came to find out they were out of the office for Junteenth. We were wondering why no one was answering our emails and if our potential pup was adopted before we had the opportunity to move forward with the process. I do suggest that the organization maybe has a kick back (out of office) email if all employees are out for a holiday so customers are aware and not waiting anxiously like we were. Once they were back in the office Monday, it was smooth sailing from there! They were responsive and moved quickly!

They do a great job with animals and the rescues. Please look to rescues inside of fashion dog. You can't go wrong

Love that they care for animals, but the staff is horrendous. The foster stalked me to where I had to block her from everything, and one of the "coordinators" tried to ruin my business because I had a "different" opinion than her.

I am a first time foster with SHH and it has honestly been an amazing experience. My foster pup has a bad leg due to a gunshot wound and we've had to make frequent vet visits because of it. They have been great at communicating with us on his condition, his treatment and what to tell future adopters. To top it off, he was a great fit in our home and we really couldn't have for a better first time foster dog. SHH also has a thorough adoption process which I appreciate as it helps to make sure these guys go to a good home. All the coordinators have been pleasant to work with and hope you all know you are doing a great job!

Another well meaning rescue group that fails the animals who never find a forever home as well as their community by making the application process nothing less than ridiculous. The application process could be streamlined, I have filled out NINE applications because that take about 30 minutes each with irrelevant questions. I have 9 acres of fenced in yard, have fostered 2 dogs successfully in last 2 years, have had dogs my hole life, have older kids, a dog would have all the love and wonderful life with us but 9 months later and 9 applications I’ve been replied to twice and no follow up. No “hey will keep your application on file” you have to restart everytime abd what irritates me is when you apply for a dog and a month later ITS STILL AVAILABLE. I mean at what point does the whole mission of “rescuing”–to find as many good homes for as many pets as possible–become lost when when people like this are the gatekeeper and making the process too exclusive.
