Thank you Best Friends Animal Hospital for getting our dog Finn, in to have a wound checked and treated at the last minute… on a weekend. Highly recommend this place.

I have been going to Best Friends Animal Hospital for years now. They are all an amazing team and truly take wonderful care of my pets. Dr. Gato was my parent’s vet for their dogs years ago and I now bring my dogs. Years ago, I had my beloved Chihuahua, Mimzie and she began giving birth at home. I called the vet and we were able to come in right away. Mimzie gave birth to five healthy girl puppies. Dr. Gato let us have a room for the entire day while Mimzie was in labor, giving birth, and when she was feeding all her puppies. He was so kind and showed me a whole box of National Geographic magazines, so I could read something :) I’ve also had loses and the care this team did gave me the reassurance that I was not alone when my heart was torn. The time they let me have when it was time to say, “Goodbye” helped my heart. They never rushed me. They let me take as long as I needed. I am so happy that Best Friends exists. The staff is wonderful and I love how they enjoy my dogs when they come to visit ;) Truly, if you want a crew that is caring, knowledgeable, and reassuring~ Best Friends Animal Hospital is the place. Trust me~ You won’t be disappointed!!

Best vet I’ve ever been to. We have seen several in northern WI and in the twin cities and Dr Gatto is the most thorough and reasonable. In our family we call him the animal whisperer.

Best Friends have been very accommodating since I brought home my puppy at the beginning of 2021. They are happy to answer all my questions and have been quick to respond about a couple of my puppy’s issues (hot spots & ear infection). The whole staff is very nice as well!

My family has gone to Dr. Gatto since I was little. I’m 32 now and still believe that this is hands down one of the best vet offices I have ever been to. They are so kind, so patient, and refreshingly helpful and caring. My boys will always go here and nowhere else!

I came here because of a recommendation By a friend and was not disappointed! I’ve brought my pet rat Mordecai here twice now he has respiratory problems and has always been very nervous around new people and they have been very accommodating of that.

Still the best! Contactless curbside pet transfer & prescription food purchases. Phone consultations to review things. Very affordable pricing for a very experienced very duo and years of consistent great service from the vet tech staff! I know it sounds weird but covid aside, I'm enjoying the curbside aspect for my cats as I'm allergic to dogs so this is just easier in that regard, which everyone was always very understanding of from both staff and patients before. We first gained respect when another very expensive place by Dred Scott wanted a $2,000 bladder some operation, another place wanted 800 for the same, and Dr Gatto just prescribed a urinary food prescription to dissolve the bladder stones are clearing the blockage with a catheter and life was good within days. I can't recommend this place enough, and have done so for family and friends over time, all of whom became loyal customers as well.

The female vet is the best vet I have been too. Loves animals and very concerned about them. Takes time to communicate all concerns and good listener.

Best Friends charged a total of $244 for a blood test, the visit, the mange test, and pills, COMBINED. The VCA wanted $280 just to do the blood test to check his thyroid level, plus $65 for the visit, plus pills, plus the mange test. Absurd how much the VCA costs. Will not step foot in the VCA again.

Great place very friendly we have been going 4 yrs

In June of 2018, a month after we got our rescue dog we took him to Best Friends Animal Hospital to inquire about getting him on a low dose of Prozac. Our rescue dog is so sweet but is very undersocialized and scared of new people. We did our research and decided having him on a low dose of medication would be very beneficial to him while working with trainers and using positive reinforcement. Not only did we not get the low dose of Prozac we wanted, we were told he would never be “normal” and since we only had him a month that we could probably return him to the rescue. I was astonished that a veterinary office that is dedicated to the wellbeing of animals would suggest to us to return the rescue dog we vowed to take care of. We kept our rescue dog, found medical help at VCA Bloomington who understood the situation and never once suggested getting rid of him, and he is flourishing in ways we never imagined he could. Very disappointed in this veterinary office and would not recommend.
